I was loaded on the ambulance and was taken to the hospital in Fillmore. The nurses did a lot of tests. I was put in a room. There were more tests. I stayed in the hospital night. I watched a couple of shows on TV and part of a football game. I didn't sleep much. This morning, I watched the morning news. Carol came. My doctor said I could go home. Carol fixed my breakfast. I then showered and put on clean clothes. Some of my friends came to see us. Others called. Lisa called,
I write all most every day of what goes on in our home in the garden and in the nursery. We are ordinance workers at the Manti Temple on the Tuesday morning shift and the Saturday evening shift. In addition there are several trips to Utah county a couple of times a month and a few short trips to other mountain west areas. Our family is most important to us. All of our children live in Utah except one who lives in Kentucky.

Saturday
My SAMSUNG woke me up this morning right on time which was 6:20. I have been trying to make it work and this is the first time it has. I turned on the news and started making mush. I then fed the cats. Richard left this morning before I got up. After I made my three bowels of old fashion oatmeal mush, I discovered there were two bowels in the fridge. There is not a decent news cast on Saturday mornings, so we left it on the local news.
We made pizzas out of the food that Lisa left from yesterday. I made the one in the above picture. After lunch I mowed the lawn, or I should say, I mowed up the leaves, The lawn mower started right up. I dumped the baskets two times.Friday, December 27, 2024
Double Family
The morning started pretty much as usual. I did get up at 6:20. Carol was up a little later. After breakfast we watched the morning TV shows. We are expecting company. Carol mopped the kitchen floor, and I started to vacuum the family room. My ear buds were on the floor, and I vacuumed up which stopped the vacuum. I removed seven screws, so I could remove a part to remove the cords. I couldn't remove it, but a was able to remove the cords. I put screws back in and finished the vacuuming. Robert and Jeanne came and brought us Christmas and a birthday present for me. I forgot to get pictures. Carol gave Robert some money. They drove to Fillmore and got hamburger sandwiches and fries for lunch.
Richard came and I got this picture of him in the reclining chair. A while after lunch Lisa and Eric came. They brought all of the ingredients for small pizza pies. We took some dough, worked it until thin and then put toppings on it, and then put it in the oven. These homemade pizzas tasted really good.
Carol and Lisa. Lisa and Eric are so good to us. They brought us Christmas presents.

There were places where the traffic was heavy and other places where there was not as much traffic. After a good session we took Miles and Nyleen back home. Carol changed clothes and we headed home. Nyleen made us a sack lunch. I put most of it on my homemade tray. We began to eat it when the traffic was lighter. We didn't stop until we got to the Holden post office. At 3:45 Karen Bennet cut my hair. We had a light supper. and watched several Christmas programs on TV.

After breakfast we jumped into the car and drove to Linden, Utah, where Carol's sister Nyleen Batty lives. Carol took her a case of half pint Mason jars. Another reason was to buy presents for family and friends. We then drove to the LDS store. Carol bought some Christmas presents. We then went to Sam's Club and bought more Christmas presents, after that we went to Walmart and bought more presents. I think that we walked up and down the aisles of the store. Some a couple of times. It was a little after two when we got home. I made some address labels while Carol wrapped a present. We took them to the post office to have them mailed. We have a lot of other presents to wrap One of our neighbors brought us some treats that her husband made and some raw honey from their bees. Carol had a present for her and some currant jelly. Lisa called. I was having trouble with Samsung device. I worked on it for over and hour and still didn't get it to work right. It is pretty amazing. It contained all of the conference talks. I can read them or listen to each conference speaker and there is a lot of other things on it,

Trouble
We got up early this morning to go to the Timpanogos temple. After breakfast we put our temple suit cases in the car with a couple of other things. Carol always drives. She backed out of the garage and were a mile of so north of Holden. We discovered that she didn't have her wallets. We turned around and went back home. We looked all over the house. We looked in the trunk, No wallet. I found the wallet on the black car seat. The garage lights were off, and Carol couldn't see her wallet and set on it. We started to back out of the garage. I had to go back to the house and lock the door. She drove a little faster than usual and we were at the Batty home. We picked up the Battys and were soon at the temple. The problems were over I thought. After the session it took a little longer than usual for Miles and I to find our locker. I then went out to the parking lot to get our car. I knew just where it was. I stood right by it. I pushed key button

Christmas Cards
A couple of days ago I printed the names and addresses of the people who we were going to whom we were to mail Christmas cards to. This morning Carol signed our names and inserted the card into an envelope. She applied their address and a return address. When the post office opened, we took them to the post office. This evening some girls from the ward rang the doorbell. They had a small sack of candies, fruits and powdered drinks. We are leaving early for the temple in the morning. So, I made three dishes of old fashion oatmeal mush.

Lawn Mower
A good morning. I got up one time. Fed the cats and kittens and started breakfast. The back doorbell rang, and Robert walked in. We made a tour of the greenhouses. Robert bought a tarp to cover his tiller that was in house three. There is no plastic one the greenhouse to protect his tiller from the winter rains and snow. The plants in house six haven't been watered for a long time. Robert turned on the water. The water began to run on the trees and shrubs. Robert put the light chain one the back porch. After it was hooked up it worked perfectly. We installed a light projector for the front porch. It is working. Robert replaced the burnt-out light in the kitchen,
There was a lot of leaves on the back lawn and the lawn mower would not start. We took the battery out of the mower and brought it into kitchen. We hooked battery charger to the battery. No success. We took the battery to Fillmore. We were able to get a battery. The cost of the battery was around $65. We brought it home and put it in the lawnmower. The mower started. We put air in the tire and Robert began to mow. Carol fixed some lunch. After lunch Robert mowed the back lawn.
Robert seemed to enjoy working with the lawnmower.Carol's sister, Nyleen. gave her some currents some time ago. Carol juiced it put in the freezer. I helped her make two batches of jelly. There were seven pints in each batch. After it got dark, we walked outside to look the light projections.

We had a couple of gift cards that was nearly enough to pay for them. We then drove to the Payson Walmart. Carol bought a gift for one of her dear friends.
Then we drove to Costco where Carol had her hearing aid adjusted. The above picture is of the entrance where hearing tests and adjustment were conducted. We were about and hour early for her appointment. So we waited inside. There were tables and benches there. We set there for a long time watching the shoppers exiting.Sunday, December 1, 2024
Fast Sunday
Richard was gone when I got up this morning. He usually goes for a short ride. No breakfast this morning. Carol prepared potatoes for dinner. She put them in the oven, and I adjusted the temperature and bake time and the amount of time so they would be ready when we got home from church. Richard garlic bread. I made a batch of tapioca pudding which turned out to be very good. Carol sliced the ham and cooked the frozen peas and made some gravy. I checked the nurseries and water most of the plants in greenhouse five. Sometime after dinner Richard left. This evening, I peeled the parsimon and sliced it. The blossom end was really sweet and tender. The end close to the stem was quite corse. I ate most of it. I had to spit it out in the sink and then rinsed out my mouth several times.
