Heart Doctor

I was up and showered early this morning.  I read another chapter in the Book of Mormon.  I was going to have a test that required me too fast.  So, no breakfast for me.  I took my medication with a full glass of water.  I made toast and fried an egg for Carol.  We were leaving to go to Orem this morning at eight.  It rained much of the way.  We stopped at Sam's Club.

Sprayed Asparagus Garden

Up on time this morning.  Posted a scripture from the Book of Mormon.   Had the usual breakfast of egg, toast, and mush.  We drove to Fillmore where Carol filled her prescription.  They needed a refill from the doctor.  We got some groceries from the Fillmore Market.   Carol had -$200.00 that she wanted her money in ten twenties.  We did that at the State Bank.  We stopped at Roper's where we got some wide mouth bottle lids. We then came home.

The pomagrante bush looks better than it has looked for a long time.
I took the rooted sweet potato slip and put it in a small pot.  I watered it and put it in a five-gallon bucket to keep it in the shade.
The apricot tree is blooming.  The flowers are on the south side of the tree.
Last fall, the hemp guys cut the hemp plants and hung them on the wires that were for the grape vines.  I pulled all of the off the wire.  I was able to spray the weeds growing where the asparagus planted.
While I was out there these two male cats were acting like queers.   So strange.   I took a picture and walked closer to them.  I kept taking pictures until I was nearly close enough to touch them.

Three young women acting as missionaries, visited us and told the first vision of the prophet Joseph Smith.  It was a Holden ward activity.

Provo Temple

My wake-up light came on this morning, but it didn't wake me up.  I woke up about twenty minutes later.  I got up and showered.   After breakfast, I walked out to house five.  Everything was okay.  Watched some news.  We got ready for our drive to the Provo temple.  There was some road repair a few miles north of Nephi.  That slowed us down.  It looked like we would not make it to the temple in time.

We did make it in time, Infact we were quite early.  We waited inside for Lisa and Eric.  They came.   Eric and I then went into the men's dressing room.  We met the girls at the chapel.  After we finished the session, we then met again in the in the waiting room.  Eric and Lisa treated to lunch
We followed Lisa and Eric to a Japanese restaurant.
We then went to the home of Miles and Nyleen Batty's home.  Miles cut my hair.
I got this picture of Miles and Nyleen Batty.

One the way home, we stopped at Costco for gas.  We drove right up to the pump without having to wait.  I filled the tank.  I went inside of Costco and presented them some papers and got our cash refund.  It was a little over $200.00.  We stopped at the Red Barn for ice cream.  We took the frontage road all the way to Nephi.  It rained most of the way to Scipio.  Sometimes it was a cloud burst.

Broken Pipe Fixed

I got up pretty early and made some adjustments on the timer clock.  I wanted it to turn on the light and wake me up about 5:15.    It came on a little before five.  I got up, showered and shaved.  I read from the Book of Mormon and posted some comments on Face Book.  After breakfast I began to dig up the leaking pipe and determine why it was leaking.  We went to Fillmore.  Carol got birthday cards at the drug store while I bought the needed parts to connect both pipes together.  I bought glue, primer, an extension coupler, and three, two-inch couplers.

I dug it up and dug on both sides.  I couldn't dig under neath it unless I dug the hole twice as wide.  After digging for quite a while, I cut the pipe on both sides of the compression coupler.  Then I was able to dig the hole deeper and throw out the loose soil.  I glued a coupler on each end.

I couldn't get the extension coupler to fit, I cut off the coupler on the left end.
Here it is glued together.  I turned on the water and there were no leaks.
I then watered the peas again.  This time the water ran down the row and went clear to the end.
I went out to the grape vines to find some daffodils.  The tap on the end of this pipe had come off and water was running all over.  I went up to the well and shut off the water.  I glued it back on.  I won't turn the water back on until tomorrow afternoon.

Fast Sunday

This morning we began our fast, but technical it started just after we went to bed.  Carol made corn dogs.  I made tapioca pudding.  We

When I walked out to water the plants in house five, there was water bubbling out of the lawn.  I watered the plants in house five.  I went back to the house and got my phone to take a picture.  I took the picture and went out to the well and turned off the water.  A big job in the morning.

Water is Runing

Saturday morning is watching my three woodworking shows.   There is no mail today.  I came home and opened the door on greenhouse five.  This afternoon I stopped at greenhouse three and took the follow picture.

There are a bunch of totes that belong to Shane England.  Some of them contain his tools.
I got the water running.  I moved the hose down the row several times and then put the end of the hose into a long PVC.
I watered the geraniums in house five and all of the other plants.
This is the end of the PVC pipe watering the last end of the row.

Turned on the Well

I was much warmer this morning.  No frost of ice.   After breakfast I went out to house five and opened both doors.  The furnace didn't turn on during the night.

The tomato seedlings are looking very good.  I can almost count all of them from the above photograph.
There was a heavy box on the front porch.  I brought in the house and took it to the little bedroom.  Inside of the box was bag holding twenty-five of Green Arrow pea seeds.  I make a big mistake.  I should have ordered five pounds of seeds.
I took a large container of seeds out to the north garden.  I pulled the farrow hoe one more time down the row.  I leaned over and carefully put the seeds down the row.  It tired me leaning over.  Later I got down on my hands and knees and planted the rest of the row.
Seeds seem to germinate better if they are pressed into the soil.  I made the above tool out of a short 2x4 and a thin piece of wood for a handle.  The first handle broke.  I cut off the broken part and attached it with four screws.
The above photo shows how close the seeds are.
The above photo shows the row after I tamped down the seeds.
Here are how the seeds look after they have been tamped down.
I cleaned off the dried rhubarb leaves.  The rhubarb plants are starting to cum up.  I was going to water the peas by hooking on to the hose in house six and get a couple more hoses to bring the water to the north garden to water the peas.  I changed my mind and decided to turn on the well.  I shut off the water and turned on the switch.  The pump started up.  I walked all over the yard shutting of the taps that I opened last fall.  There is a hose bib just outside of the north-east corner of our yard.  It froze and broke during the winter.  I cut off the broken part and with a couple of PVC parts was able to fix it.

Church Clean-up

After breakfast I opened the doors to house five.  The tomato plants continue to germinate.  Twenty-seven celebrity and about seventeen delicious seeds have germinated.   We drove to Fillmore and bought groceries at the Fillmore Market.

After lunch, Lori Tuttle called about cleaning the church.  Carol and I are assigned to clean part of the church.  We may do this about every six months.  Carol can't do.  I went alone.  I vacumed the cultural hall, the south hall, and did the chapel.
I used the big vacuumed for the cultural hall.  I turned it on.  I don't have to push it.  I got a lot of exercise going up and down.  It took longer to do the chapel.  I vacuumed each bench.  First, the south side and second the north side.  Then I vacuumed under the benches.  I used a push vacuumed for the isles and the floor under the choir seats.

The cold night and hot days makes the sap run.
I cut away a lot of rose bushes before I could bet close to the tree.  I drilled a hole in the popler tree screwed in a long gray nipple.  The white bucket catches the sap.
I drilled a hole on the other side.  The tree on this side was dead.

Prepared Garden for Peas

Strange morning.  I looked at the clock this morning.  It said 4 o'clock.  I thought that it was five.  I sometimes get up at 5:15, therefore, I got up, showered, dressed, and shaved.  I was up nearly two hours before I usually get up.   After breakfast, I put on my winter coat and filled the backpack sprayer with weed killer.

I sprayed one tankful of weed killer this morning, and another tankful this afternoon.
I am expecting a bag of Green Arrow pea seeds in a couple of days.  I got the tiller that is in house three and pushed it to the garden.  The small gas tank was empty.  I filled it and the pulled the crank rope.  Nothing, I pulled it again and again and still nothing.  I forgot to turn on the ignition switch.  I turned on the switch and pulled it again.  It started right up.  I left the tiller engine running and walked down the row and removed sticks and other things.  By the time I got back the engine stopped.  I tried to start it again and was unsuccessful.
I used my stirrup hoe to loosen the soil and cut out any weeds.
I then used a pointed hoe to make a row for planting the pea seeds.

Payson Utah Temple

Today is our temple day.  We are going to attend the twelve O'clock session.  It takes us about an hour to get there.  I opened the doors after breakfast to house five this morning.   It has been quite cold this morning and the furnace was on.  I could seed the steam coming from the chimney.  It might get too hot inside.   We were going to leave a little after ten.  It was nine o'clock when I put on my suit.   It was about 10:15 when we left.  I took a picture of the Payson temple as soon as we parked the car.  all I got was part of one of the tires.  We went into the temple.  We had an enjoyable session.  When we walked out of the temple, Lisa was there.  We did some shopping at Walmart.

After that we had late lunch.
We drove back to Costco and filled the car with gas.  The gas at Costco was more expensive than any place that we saw on the way home.    $4.51 per gallon.  We got home about 5:30.

Cutting Asparagus

Pretty cold morning with a chilling breeze from the north.  About 9:30 after breakfast, I went to the post office and picked up the mail.  There was on bill from the phone company.  The sun was shining.  I opened the door to house five.

The celebrity and delicious seeds continue germinating.  There now are twenty-five celebrity plants and about a dozen delicious plants.
The geranium plants are getting larger.  I watered them with the hose.
I used the Ryobi trimmer to cut down all the dry asparagus plants.  Most of them are in the south garden.  All that is left are sticks.  There were a lot of weeds that germinated.  I haven't used the trimmer since last summer.  The battery worked and worked.
I trimmed the dried-up weeds in house five.
A close-up of the dried-up asparagus.
Another photo of the dried-up asparagus.  It is difficult to see the green weeds under the asparagus.  The asparagus plants seemed to protect them from the freezing weather.
