We

My laptop was working after I got up.  I shut it off to vacuum.  I turned on the computer after and it wouldn't come one.  I tried many times.  It came on and then itself shut off.  Later we drove to Fillmore  for groceries and have the computer fixed.  The laptop battery wasn't any good.  I ordered a new one and hop that it is here by Friday afternoon.

I removed the braided cable which was the clothes line in the backyard.  There were three pieces.
I dug the potatoes

Temple This Morning

We were up early this morning, like 4:30.  We were there about an hour early.  We waited in the car for the doors to open.  Carol went in and I parked the car.  It was a good day at the temple.  On the way home we stopped at the Hot Spot for ice cream cones.   I did a little watering,  we had a little lunch.

The Agave parryi has numerous blooms now.
The pole beans are beginning to climb.

A couple of guys fixed the washing machine.  The drain pipe was plugged somewhere under the house.  They told me that I would have to get a plumber to fix it.  I thought that I would have to cut the drain pipe. clean it out, and glue it back together again.    There was a clean out plug.    I unscrewed the plug and was able to shine a flash light trough the pipe.  There was a lot of guck in the pipe.  I pushed a garden hose through the center of the pipe.  It was fairly had to push, but I got it in quite a long way.  I hooked the garden hose to the hose bib and Carol turned on the water.  That worked.  Carol washed a small batch of clothes with out any problems.

Sunday/Monday

I did a little watering.  We prepared some of the dinner.  Later got ready for church.  No masks, sacrament was almost normal.

The choke cherry tree did not have much fruit.  There was a smaller tree in the north west corner of our yard that had a lot of fruit.  Not ripe yet.  You can see the cluster of choke cherries.
The front yard looked pretty good.
The Agave parryi is getting clos to blooming.  Our attorney worked with us a little on creating our will and testament.   Later a man from Health care cleaned and adjusted Carol's oxygen generator.
Monday evening picture of the Agave parryi is showing a bloom.

Saturday, Water Day

I started water running on the the lawn with three different hoses.  I moved them every half hour.  The dryer was fixed fixed yesterday evening, so we washed the sheets that haven't been washed for nearly three weeks.  There is water coming from the inside of the washer running on the floor.  I mopped the water with paper towels and wash clothes.   Quite a bit of the water was running into the crawl space below the washer.  I called Adam Remkes.  He is out of town and will look at it Monday.  We always wash every other week.  I worked in the garden also.

There was to much water running for the chickens.  I turned of the hose, but it still leaked a little.  I placed some bricks and covered them with some dirt to keep the water from running into the chicken run.

This afternoon I transplanted the burpless cucumbers into the south garden.   For the most part there were two plants in each six pack cell.  I planted them about eighteen inches apart.  I ended up with twenty-one hills.  I will need to make some type of trellis to grow them up.   I could use concrete reinforcement wire or three cattle panels.
Here the water is running down the row.  I came back later in the afternoon and watered them again.   They were pretty droopy.
I got a photo of the Agave parryi.  Still waiting for flowers.  I ended the day with more sprinklers on the lawn.

More Peas

As soon as it was light and after I read from the Book of Mormon,  I was outside picking peas.

Carol started shelling  the peas.  She ended up with one gallon freezer bag full.  We have a good supply in the garage freezer.
Lisa and Eric yesterday gave me this ten piece screw driver set.  The drivers are not in the package.  I put them in my tool box in my bedroom.  There was one piece that I could not figure out how to use it.  I found a You Tube video that showed me how to use it.
This morning I took another photo of the Agave parryi.  Still waiting for blooms.
I opened another root control bag.  The vines were dead, but there were quite a few potatoes.  I used the soil to fill a flower pot.
I cut off a large piece of the post driver.  I I drove in another conduit pipe in the tomato plants.  It worked pretty good.  Or I had to pound it in.  I remove one that I pounded in yesterday that was a little crooked.  I pulled it out and drove it in more straight.
The sweet corn that I planted Monday is coming up.  It is looking good.

Lisa and Emi Came

This morning I was up and as soon as it was light, I began to weed the garden.  I use the stirrup hoe on every weed that I could reach.  I went up and down each row.  I run water down some rows and on my hand and knees pulled the wet weeds out of the water.  I did several rows this way.  Two of the rows were rows of potatoes.

I carefully pulled the weeds from the Blue Lake pole beans.  They are sending up runners and soon should be running up the hoop.

I asked Richard Darnell to help me make a conduit pipe pounder.  He brought over his welder and made it.
We went to Cluff's for a late lunch.  It was pretty warm, even in the shade.  Lisa and Emi are in the above photo.
Lisa and Emi picked Green Arrow peas to eat on the way home.  Lisa brought me a Dewalt screw driver set for fathers day.  She also gave me a $50 gift certificate.

Tire Rotation

This morning Carol drove the car to Deardon motors for a tire rotation.  I drove the truck so we could come home and then got back and get the car later.  They were able to get it fixed while we were still in Fillmore.  We bought some groceries and the Fillmore Market then went back to Deardon motors where we transferred the groceries to the car.  We then went home.

I did some weeding in the pepper and tomato plants.  The redroot weed come up thick wherever it got a little wet.  I dug a lot of weeds in the orchard where there was a little shade.  The main weeds that I dug were the puncture and wild Lettice  It was quite hot while I was weeding so I stopped.
I haven't a name for these things,  but they will be attached to the top of a conduit pipe.  A wire will be strung in a notch from pipe to pipe that will hold twine for the training of tomato plants.
I watered the corn seeds and the more mature corn.  I tilled a place for burpless cucumbers.  I then run water down the row.  Will be planting tomorrow evening or the next morning (Friday).
Still waiting for the Agave parryi bloom.

The wi-fi was down for a couple of hours.  I could not get on the internet later in the evening.

Freeze Peas

I got dressed as soon as I got up and started the irrigating the lawn.  I set the sprinklers into position last night.  I set the timer for thirty minutes.  I then showered.  I fed the cats and kittens and then read from the Book of Mormon.  After breakfast I began to pick the green arrow peas.

I picked enough peas that would fill this bucket to the top.
Carol shelled all of them.
The salvia is really pretty now.
A bucket full of shelled pea pods.
The petunias in the garage greenhouse looks like they needed water.  After a closer examination, they had plenty of water, but the greenhouse is way to hot.
Another photo.
I took them out to the patio where it was a little bit cooler, or I should say not as hot.
We put the peas in gallon freezer bags.  I put them in the freezer in the garage.  There is a bag left over from last year and another bag in the freezer in the house.  We can pick again in a couple of days and get just as many peas.

As the sun goes down I am still watering the lawn.

Cricket in Bucket

Carol's going to a DUP meeting at 12:30.  She is taking a potato salad.  After breakfast, she made the salad.  I helped a little.

We planted a chrysanthemum in the dahlias.  I watered them with the watering can and I thought that the Mormon cricket was dead.  I poured it out and it was really much alive.
It started crawling.  One of the cats notice it and ran after it.  The cricket went into the grass.  I stepped on it thinking that I crushed it head.  I picked it up by the leg and gave it to the chickens.  A chicken quickly grabbed it.  An other chicken stole it and took off running.  That was the end of that cricket.
I heard a chain saw.  The noise was coming from the north.  Danny across the road and down a little is having a blue spruce cut down.  By three it was cut down and hauled away.
When I went into the garage greenhouse to see if there were any more eggs; the petunia plants were really dry.  I gave them a good drink.
Flag day today.  A couple of young boys came by and put up the flag.   Flag day is  "...Celebrated each year on June 14, Flag Day is the celebration and recognition of the stars and stripes. Flag Day falls within National Flag Week when Americans are encouraged to reflect upon the values of our Republic and the valor of the men and women in uniform who have defended it."

I watered some of the garden today.  It has been hot most of the day.  I started watering the apple trees in the west end of the orchard.  The wind was blow so much that stopped.

Peas for Dinner

As soon as breakfast was over I picked some Green Arrow peas.  I picked on the north side and then part was down on the south side.
Carol shelled them and we had them for dinner.  We went to Sacrament meeting.  I then went to priesthood meeting and Carol went to relief society meeting.
Still waiting for the Agave parryi to bloom.  The buds have a reddish color.
Got three eggs today.  The second hen Robert brought down laid and egg.  Three hens, three eggs.

Washed the Car

This morning I watered the east lawn and the geraniums.  I quit watering at ten.  We then went to Fillmore to wash the car and get some gas.   We also vacuumed inside the car.  Also we got Carol's prescription at the drug store.  Before we went home we got medium ice cream cones at fluffs.

We planted the mum that we had on Serra's grave at the Holden cemetery.  They were planted with the dahlias.
I rolled up the frost protection fabric that has been under my bedroom wind.
The Agave parryi changes everyday.

I finished the watering this evening.
