Tuesday

I am writing this on 3 March 2023.  I don't remember anything except the two photos.

Lisa was here most of the day. We, Carol and Lisa cleaned up the little bedroom.  It now looks suitable for guests.  We hauled a lot to the dump.  She took some home with her.   She took some to the DI and found uses for them.
The above photo shows where some of the chickens roost in house six.

lisa

February 26, 2023-- Lisa came and stayed all night. She was going to fix supper, but instead we went to Costa Vida.  I ordered a soft taco with shredded pork. It was very good.  I ate half and brought the other half home.

Sunday night I had sweet potato smothered with melted butter.
Sunday morning I made Tapioca pudding. I ate the last of it Sunday night.
I took this picture while Lisa was visiting.
Lisa brought this pack of NFL batteries.
Monday morning we cleaned the little bedroom.  There were lots of toys.  The broken toys and imcomplet sets were taken to the dump.  Others were taken to the DI in Provo.
I put the chickens in house five to bed.  This rooster was roosting on the furnace vent pipe.

Working Wood

Nothing unusual this morning.  I fed the cats, started cooking old fashioned oatmeal mush, I fixed breakfast.  After breakfast I took a container of hot water out too house six where I watered the chicken living there.  I came back to the house and watched my two channel seven TV shows. Robert called while I was watching the shows.  I muted the TV.  The topic of our discussion was the plants growing in greenhouse five.  He is coming Sunday afternoon to take a look at what is happening in house five.  We drove to Fillmore for some groceries at the Market.  We spent $150.00.  We then went to the drug store where Carol bought some birthday cards.   There were no shows on channel seven that interested me.  We watched channel 44 western movies.  We had some chicken pieces in the freezer.  Carol made chicken noodle soup. We had it for lunch.   I had the rest of the bean soup

Three Days

I woke up to a big surprise. There was eight inches of new snow on the ground and on the driveway.  After breakfast I shoveled some of it off the driveway. There are more pictures that follows.  They are not in chronological order but are as I took them.

February 23, yesterday, Thursday

This is a photo of 100 west and 300 south.  It shows robings lined up the streets and on both sides of the road.
I shoveled of part of the driveway this morning and did a little bit during the day until I got all of the snow removed.
This shows robins eating seeds from the Hawthorne tree.
I put on my boots and walked through the deep snow and cleaned the snow off the front sidewalk.
In the afternoon I had Karen Bennett cut my hair.  She has a large mirror, and this is where I took the picture.
I gave the chickens in house five fresh warm water.
At another time I took picture the chickens when they were under the furnace.

February 24, Today, Friday

This morning there was a trace of snow on our driveway.  I may have been a quarter of an inch deep.
I hooked up the blower and began to blow off the snow.  I hooked up a couple of extension cords to reach more snow.
The sun has been shining all afternoon.  I opened the west door of greenhouse five to let any breeze help cool off the greenhouse.
I got another picture of the chickens.  They were digging in the dirt below the furnace in house six.
The last picture of the day was bagging up the garbage.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Snow and More Snow

Strange morning. I woke up several times during the early morning.  It was five and I thought that it was six.  I got up weighed, recorded my weight, showered, said my prayers, and shaved.  I then discovered that it was five instead six.  I had plenty of time to read from the Book of Mormon.  I read most of the internet news.  I turned on the front porch light and opened the door. I could see that there was a lot of snow.  A snowplow drove by going east. I put on my boots and cleared of the snow that was on the satellite dish. I came back into the house and started my old fashion oatmeal mush.  Then I fed the cats. The TV worked.

I walked out the driveway and took the above picture.  There was seven inches of snow.  Before day was over, there was eight inches of snow.

There was more snow.  This is a picture of a Utah juniper covered with snow from the bottom to the top.

The above picture is of greenhouse six.

Tuesday

Another sleep in this morning.  I was able to weigh, record it and then shower.  I didn't shave or say my prayers, I fed the cats and started breakfast.  After breakfast I took hot water for the chickens in house six.  I broke the ice, dumped the water and poured in the hot water.  I came back and read from the Book of Mormon.  I watched my two morning shows and then went to the post office and picked up the mail.  After lunch I went back to greenhouse five. I dug up some weeds and watered everything that was growing.

I think that these are hardy fig plants.  They have been doing well.  There is quite a lot of other fig verities.
On the left is a planting of celebrity tomatoes.  Most of the other planted seeds are also doing well.  To the right is a planting of egg plants.    The rest of the evening is TV watching until we went to bed,

Warmer Weather

I only got one photo.  I didn't have time to write, and I don't remember much.

I had a little of raw honey left.  I filled the honey bottle clear to the brim.  There was a little left but not enough to save.  I tried to put it in a pint bottle but that didn't work. I turned on the hot water and washed it down sink.

The Sabath

After breakfast I watered the chickens in greenhouse six, uncovered the plants in house five, and watered the chickens in the hen house.  I got ready for choir practice.  Carol took me to choir practice.  I was able to sing with my dentures in my mouth.  Later, Carol came to church.  Choir practice was over then I set down in the congregation on our regular bench. There were two speakers for sacrament meeting.  It was the high counselor and his returned missionary daughter.

We had a good Sunday school teacher.  He taught the lesson as it was intended. We came home to a good dinner of meat loaf and baked potatoes.   We watched channel eleven programing on TV, and other channel 44 shows.  I left the chicken water in the hen house. I also left the in the water container in greenhouse six.  The temperature forecast was just barely above freezing.  I covered the plants that were on the bench with black plastic.  A lot of the planted seeds are germinating.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Cleaning Geraniums

After breakfast I watched a couple of channels 44 TV shows.  I picked up the mail at the post office.  There was one letter for Richard.  I had a chicken meat pie for lunch. After lunch I worked in greenhouse five.  The sun has been shinning all afternoon.  It was quite hot in houses five and six.

I cut back all of the geranium stems.  There was some new grow on them.
I pruned the geraniums in the pot that belonged to Ann Stephenson our neighbor to the west of us, Carol fixed supper of a hamburger patty, cheese, baked potato, and pork and beans.
I pruned some of the branches on the two lemon plants.  I look like they are going to be okay.
The above photo shows our temple schedule for the next ten days.

We watched TV until we went to bed.

Timpanogos Temple

It is late when we go to bed.  We usually watch a U-tube video before we go to bed. I got up for a bathroom break and then go right to bed and right to sleep.  After breakfast I took warm water to the chickens.  Most of them were in the corner under some dried up branches.
I took this picture.
It was nine when we left Holden.  We were close to Nephi when I got this picture of Mount Nebo.  We went on to American Fork and soon arrived at the Batty home.  Our appointment at the Timpanogos temple was at 11:30. We were there in plenty of time.   There were plenty of parking spaces.  I found one that was a short walked to the temple door.  We then went in and scanned our recommends.  Carol and I walked in.  Miles and Nyleen scanned their recommends but they weren't allowed in.  There was no record of their appointment.  After Carol and I put on our white temple clothes we waited for the session to start.  We set on the second row from the front. After the session we were able to soon leave. After putting on our street clothes, Miles and I got the car and drove back to get the girls.  We then drove back to Linden. Carol took off her dress and put on pants and a blouse. Nyleen gave us a sack lunch.  We took Richard's mail and gave it to Jeanne to give to Richard.  We stopped at Sam's Club for a few needed things.  I took my suit to a place in Payson.  I took quite a while to find the place and we waited to be helped.  We then drove straight home.

Last night I thought I turned down the temperature greenhouse six, but I turned it off.  The geraniums were frozen.  The leaves on the lemon trees were frozen.  It looked like the leaf buds from the pomegranate tree were also frozen, I think that new buds will grow again.  The hose bib in house five was frozen.  I got a container of hot water and began to pour it on the hose bib and the PVC stem.  I unhooked the hose.  A little water started to drip a little.  The drips became a flow and then a heavy flow.  I the froze and broke we might have needed to cancel our temple trip.
I watered the chickens in the hen house and gave them more lay pellets.
I bought a pair of apple juice bottles filled with apple juice at Sam's club. It is way cheaper than the apple juice at the Fillmore market.  Carol warmed up a frozen chicken dinner. She also cooked some bottled snap beans.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Plants Growing

I was up this morning with a little time to spare.  I weighted and recorded my weight on my iPad.  I then showered and said my prayers and then shaved.  I fed the cats and turned on the morning news.  Carol was soon up, started the washing machine and showered and did her hair.  I started breakfast.  After breakfast I took warm water out to house six and watered the chickens there.  I uncovered the plants in house five and gave the hens their water in hen house.  I also gave them the potato peels. I watched the first two TV shows.  Instead of watching the third on I went to the post office.  There was no mail.  I then drove to Fillmore to check on some medications that I wasn't getting and a pill substitute.  I bought gas at Love's gas station. I left the station and for some reason I couldn't find my way to the freeway.  There was a sign that pointed to Cedar City, I didn't want to that way.  Then I saw the sign that pointed to Salt Lake City.  That goes through Holden.  I got on and went to Holden,

After lunch I checked the plants in greenhouse five.  There were a few more tomato plants growing.  The geranium seeds on tray to the left are beginning to germinate.
A pepper seed in this six pack is germinating.  It is hard to see.
It has been very cold for a couple of weeks.  The spray from the water running in green house four is frozen on the weeds.  Later I covered some of the plants in house five.  I dumped the water container in greenhouse six. I got the water can in the hen house and put it in the garage.  That water was beginning to freeze.  I put it in the garage.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Valentines

Sleeping in is beginning to become a habit. I weighted in and then showered and dressed.  I didn't have time for prayers or shaving.  I turned on the morning news and fed the cats. Later in the morning I said my prayers and shaved.

I got Carol's box of Valantine chocolates.  I put them on the round dining room table where she could see them as soon as she got up.
Last week I ordered a box chocolates.  They were delivered early this afternoon.  I watched a couple of morning TV shows.
I took warm water out to the chickens in greenhouse six, I got this fuzzy picture of the chickens getting a drink of warm water.
A little snow fell this morning.
I hooked up the blower with a couple of long extension cords.  I blew the snow off the driveway. That didn't take long.
This afternoon I pulled, dug up the weeds at the back of greenhouse five and piled them up just outside of the door I put some heavy objects on the to prevent the wind from blowing them in the back yard.
I used my weed eater to cut all the weeds on the south side of house five. I am going to let them dry out before I rake them up.
The geraniums that Robert planted last Saturday are coming up.  Carol shredded a bunch of potatoes and fried them with onions.
Late this evening I dumped the container of chicken water.  We watched TV until we went to bed.
