Lisa & April's Kids

 It was about 2:10 when Lisa came with April's kids.  Four of the are our grandchildren.

Lisa took the picture,  Carol and I are in back of the sofa and the grandkids are sitting on the sofa.

Missionaries & Temple

 It was early in the morning when we left for the Temple.

Shopping

After breakfast we watched three of the channel 44 TV programs. I picked up the mail and we drove to Fillmore for groceries.  We then stopped at the Fillmore Feed store where I bought two six packs of small celebrity tomato plants,  After lunch we watched a little more TV.

Carol saw a hummingbird.   She filled the feeder, and I hung it on the front porch.

Monday

I watched some of the morning tv shows.  Worked in the garden.

I watered both rows of onion plants.

I picked some more asperges stems.  There are new ones every day.

The redbud tree is loaded with flowers and lots of honeybees.

Beautiful red tulips in the kidney.

I turned on the drips in the dahlia garden. It is now working satisfactory. 

Sunday

Church meetings went well.   We viewed the dedication of the Manti Temple which was broadcast in the Stake house in Fillmore.  We showed our recomends and went in an hour early.  The talks were inspiring.  

Saturday

A normal morning.  Instead of watching the wood working shows I began to plant the onions.  Carol came out to the garden with me. I made the hole and Carol would hand me an onion and I put the root in the hole and press the soil around the onion, 

We had finished planting two rows of onions.  The white chair is between the two rows.

We went to the Fillmore market for some groceries, and I bought 14 Celebrity tomato plants.  They were $1.98 each.  They are in greenhouse five,  I will plant the later.

I ran water down these two rows to prepare the ground for planting the onions.

The temperature in greenhouse five gets very hot with the afternoon sun.

I cut a nice bunch of asparagus.  

This is where I want to plant the celebrity tomato plants that I bought this morning. 

Richard came about six and spent the night with us.   We watched TV until we went to bed.  

Normal Day

I also got our first picking of rhubarb.

Timpanogos Temple

 

It was 6:30 when we left Holden this morning. Traffic was light when we got on the freeway, The traffic was much heavier when we got into Utah county.   We picked up the Batty's and then drove to the Timpanogos temple.  We had a good session in spite of a couple problems.  We took the Batty's home and then drove home,  I put on my work clothes and walked out to Greenhouse five.

Asparagus

After breakfast we watched the morning channel 44 TV programs.  When they were over, we drove to Fillmore.  We stopped at the Fillmore IFA.  We bought some Pontiac potatoes and russet potatoes.  I wanted some celebrity tomato plants.  The didn't have any.  I ordered some.  We stopped at Roper's where I bought lights and a gate valve.  We got soft ice-cream cones.  We ate them on the way home.  After lunch I planted the sweet potatoes.  Two rooted stems and the two sweet potatoes that many roots.  

I picked a lot of asparagus.  The photo above is of one of our best asparagus clump.

I cut down last year's dead asparagus stems.

Carol cooked some asparagus for me.  She doesn't like it.

This is the raised bed where i planted the whole asparagus one each end with a couple leaves showing.  The rooted stems were planted in the center.

This is the gate valve that I bought.  I turned a little water on at the well.  The valve worked.  No water leaked.  Carol shredded some potatoes.  She fried them with slices of onions,

We are going to the Timpanogos temple early in the morning.  I did the watering in greenhouse five.  I opened the east door and closed the west door.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Payson Temple

 I watched the clock in my bedroom for about one hour before got up.  I weighted in, posted my weigh, said my prayers and then shaved. I turned on the morning news.  I was out of oatmeal mush so I started a new batch.  I then fed the cats.  I started breakfast. Carol then got up and started washing the clothes.  After breakfast I went out to greenhouse five.
