Humming Birds

When I got up this morning, I thought that it was the first day of September, but it wasn't. I water the house plants on the first Monday of the month. So that is what I did. I started up the lawn mower. I was going to mow the front lawn, but I ended up mowing the front lawn, the east lawn and the back lawn.

There is two redbud seedlings growing by the front porch. This is one of them.
There is a hummingbird feeding at the left side of the bird feeder.
There are a lot of hummingbirds flying around. Carol made a fresh batch sugar water for the hummingbirds.
Another photo of the feeder.
The freshly mowed lawn.
A tree by the chicken coop. Grape vines growing to the top of it.
A good picture of the hummingbird.
This cactus is blooming.

Some animal took a couple of bites out of this spoiled cucumber. Probably a deer. I went out to the garden to pick sweet corn. The wind was blowing, it was cold and it started to rain. I went back to the house, The wind soon stopped and the rain quit.  I then went out to the garden,
I shucked the corn and put it in the fridge. We will freeze tomorrow.

This morning after breakfast I took a box of yellow squash to the post office and pot in "share the harvest" shelf. When I got home, I picked sweet corn. I shucked it. we had Carol's famous soup for lunch. We drove to Fillmore and filled the car with gas. I took my lap to Dan Speakman. He checked it to see if there were any problems. There weren't any, I had him copy the phots that were on my phone to my tablet. He did. Carol was at the market and bought some groceries, after we got home it rained hard for a couple of minutes and then quit.

We froze the corn and put it in the freezer.
Here is a tray of frozen corn,
I picked it and helped Carol cut the corn off the cob.
Here I have the corn in a tote.

Car Fixed

This morning after breakfast I mowed the lawn. I removed all of the garden hoses that were on the lawns, The lawn mower started right up. I put air in the tires and began to mow. I started on the front lawn and run out of gas while I was on the front driveway, sometime ago, I got a new gas can and filled it with gas. As hard as I tried, I couldn't pour gas in the lawnmower tank. Finally poured in an old container and then poured it into the lawnmower tank. I then mowed the front lawn, the east lawn, and most of the back lawn. Carol came out and reminded me that I was to take the car to Fillmore to get the front right fender fixed. The mechanics fixed it and I didn't cost me anything. I came home and finished mowing the lawn.

I mowed all of the lawns today.
I had a sweet potato for supper.
The people at the garage the front fender on the right side.

A small topaz melon is in the above photo. It is a little larger than an olive.
