Timpanogos Temple

It was a little foggy when we left Holden this morning.  By the time we got over the Scipio summit it was really foggy, there were times that we couldn't see any cars in front of us or any cars in the south bound lanes at the side of us.  We finally made it to the home of Miles and Nyleen Batty. We picked them up and then drove to the Timpanogos temple.  I found a parking place a little closer to the temple, We, Miles and I met the girls in the temple chapel.  After a good session we took the Batties home and headed home.  There was not any fog.  We stopped at the Payson Walmart where I bought Galaxy Tab.  Nyleen made us a lunch which we ate on the way home.  It was nearly four when we got home.  I put my new tablet on the charger for nearly an hour.  There were no directions for it.  I turned on the tablet.  The directions were on the tablet.  I got it going pretty well.  Carol made me some toast.  After I ate it I turned the tablet back on.  I needed the password to turn it on.  I tried every password that I thought would work.  Nothing worked.  I tried for nearly two hours.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Temple in Payson

It was six when I got up this morning.  I read a chapter in the New Testament.  It was 1 John 2.   I had plenty of time t read it, but I could not post it on Face Book. I then fed the cats and prepared breakfast.  We have an appointment at the Payson temple at twelve.  We were able to watch two of the channel 44 programs.

Priesthood Meeting

I was up at 5:35 this morning and started the meat in the slow cooker.  I then went back to bed.  It took me awhile to get back to sleep.  The next thing I noticed was that the light was on in the family room.  It was a little after seven. Carol was up.  I then showered, dressed, shaved and said my prayers, I started my mush and then fed the cats.  After breakfast I sit down and began to read the priesthood lesson.  It was getting time to go to choir practice.  I put on my suit and had Carol take me to the church.  She waited while I went into the relief society room.  There were members of the choir in there beginning their practice.  I waved goodbye to Carol.  We were practicing for the Christmas program.  After practice I met Carol in the chapel.  The speakers did a good job.  The person who taught the lesson was the best priesthood did a supper good job.

When we got, most of the dinner was ready.  After dinner we watched the channel eleven programs.  That was what we did most of the day.  We had supper and then watched TV until we went to bed.

The Funeral

I decided to sleep in this morning.  Richard was gone when I got up.  That wasn't unusual.   Yesterday, he drove to Fillmore to buy gas for his truck.  This morning he was gone.  Carol got up and done her hair.  Richard called and said that he was in Springville looking for some tires for his truck   I turned on the TV and it was not working.  I started making the oatmeal mush.  I then fed the cats.  It was getting light.  I walked out behind the house where I could see the Direct TV dish.  It snowed some during the night and was still snow some.  There was a little snow on it.  I brushed it off. There was one egg in the nest.  After breakfast I called someone from Direct TV.  After talking to a answering machine for nearly a half hour I said goodby and hung up the phone.

I shoveled the snow off the driveway.  Carol put the casserole in the oven.  She wanted to have it hot when we took it to the church for a luncheon after the funeral.  I put on my suit.  We then took the hot casserole to the church.  We went into the relief society room where expressed our sympathy to the Steven's family.  We then waited in the chapel until the funeral started.  Family members spoke.  The last two speakers and a member of the bishopric spoke to the congregation.  They spoke about the mission of Jesus Christ.  We then came home and had more left overs from Thursday.   After lunch, I drove to the home of Cade Hunter who fixes TV's.  He wasn't home.   I rebooted the TV to see if it would begin working again.  That didn't help.  I turned off the TV.  Carol turned it back on.   I listened to the BYU football game on my laptop computer.   Some banging noises and flashing lights were coming from the TV.  They were square and in various colors.  After a couple of minutes the TV was back on.  Carol went through the channels and found the BYU football game.  I watched the game and Carol started putting a puzzle together.  We were able to watch some of the programs that we enjoy.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Leftovers

Richard was gone when I got up.  He went to Fillmore to fill his truck with gas.  I was able to read another chapter from the book of James.  Later I posted it on Face Book.  I made three bowels of old-fashion oatmeal mush.  I had to open a new bag of cat food.  I fed the cats and gathered two eggs.  Richard came home and I fixed breakfast. It was cold and it was lightly snowing.  Richard uncovered the direct TV dish two times.  After breakfast we watched three of the morning TV shows.  Carol is making funeral potatoes.  She asked Richard if he would go to Fillmore and get a few things that she needed for the casserole.  After lunch Carol started the casserole.  I helped her some.

c
Richard brought the Christmas tree and we set it up in the front room.  We had leftovers for lunch.  Our direct TV quit on us, there is some problem with the signal that we get.  We tried all kinds of things to solve the problem, but none worked.  Right now, we are sitting in a quiet house. I was able to listen to Christmas music on my laptop until we went to bed.

Thanks Giving 2023

There was a light in the kitchen that was on.  I got up and thought I would see Richard setting the recliner.  He wasn't there. I walked to the front door and turned on the porch light to see if his truck was parked in the driveway.  It wasn't.  I went to the back door.  It was shut, but it wasn't locked.  The truck wasn't in the driveway.   I fed the cats and fixed breakfast.  Richard was looking for truck tires.  After breakfast we put the food that we were taking for the Thanksgiving dinner in a cooler that he had in the back of his truck.   On the way we stop and picked up his stepson, Landon and took him with us to Lisa's house.

Richard and Landon in the front room.
Eric preparing some of the dinner.
Lisa's cat on my lap.
Another picture of the cat on my lap.
Chase Gray is helping Richard is helping carve the turkey.
I got a picture of Melisa and Derick Rollins.
Here is a picture of those eating. Eric Gray's mother is at the far end table.
Richard is at the end of the table.  Landon, Chase Gray and Emi Gray are on the right side of the table.
We stopped at the house of Emily and John's.  Richard got out of his truck and bought the baby and the other grandkids. I didn't get a picture of the others.  We then drove home.  I was dark when we got home.  We unloaded all the food that was in a cooler in the back of his truck.  The TV stopped working.

More Leaves

I was up at six this morning.  I got up several times during the night for a bathroom break.  I watched the clock for a half hour until it turned six.  Thats when I got up.  I read Genisis chapter four and copied two verses and made a brief comment on it. Carol got up and showered. I cooked some more old fashion oatmeal mush.  I fed the cats.  Then I worked more on posting a verse in the book Genisis, but I could not post it.  I just gave up on it.  I watched the three morning TV shows. One is continued unto tomorrow.

The following photos are not in the order that then happened. I blew all of the leaves off the patio onto the lawn. The lawnmower started up on the first crank.  I mowed up the leaves. It quickly filled the bags.  I dumped in the garden, I went back the lawn and mowed up the rest of the leaves, I put the lawnmower away for the winter.  There were a few leaves in the bags.  I emptied the bags by the grape vines.
The hose bib in greenhouse four was spraying water on the dead weeds which froze during the night.
I shut off the water and with a pair of channel lock pliers, I tightened the hose bib.
I turned off the water with the pink valve.  That a loud me to tighten the gate valve in the previous photo.
We drove to Fillmore for some groceries. I bought a bag of lay pellets.
This is how the patio looked after I blew off the leaves.
Lisa and Eric sent us the post card.
And the next day we got another one.  Carol and watched more TV.  Richard came.  He ate some spaghetti.  He will take us to Eric and Lisa's home in the morning.  Richard watched TV with us for a while.  He then went to bed.  We watched TV until we went to bed.  We go to bed somewhere around 10:30.

Door Fixed

I slept in this morning.  All that I had time for this morning was to feed the cats and shut the blinds before the start of the morning news.  I started breakfast.  Carol started to wash the clothes.  After breakfast we watched three of our morning TV shows.  We were interrupted several times.  I went to the post office and picked up the mail.  There was a post card from Lisa and Eric Gray.  They mailed it when they were in Athens Acropolis. The garage door would not stay closed.  Later we had lunch.  We watched a few more TV shows.  I called Todd Troseth and told him that the door  would not stay closed. I had Carol closed the door and I held it closed.

I went out to greenhouse six and watered the grape plants, the fig plants, and the fruit trees.  There is a lot of alfalfa plants that Robert will spay.  He will spray them with a weed killer.  We dug out many of the alfalfa plants on the west end several weeks ago.
The leaves on the pomegranate shrub in house five are turning yellow and starting to fall off.
There is a lime plant in greenhouse five that has a lime on it.
The Troseth boys came by to fix the garage door.  They worked there for over a half hour.  They finally got it to work properly.  Carol and I went for a drive through town.  Carol fixed a spaghetti for supper.  It was really good.  After supper we watched TV until we went to bed.

Mowed Leaves

I planned on getting up at six this morning.  I had about five minutes before six and I went back to sleep. When I woke up it was 6:18. I weighed, recorded my weight and then showered.  I said my prayers.  Carol washed the dishes sheets.  I removed the bedding and took the sheets to the laundry room.  I turned on the news.  We watched the morning TV shows and made up the beds.  I went to the post office and picked up some mail.   I had a can of soup for lunch.

After lunch I decided to mow up the leaves that were on the back lawn, the east lawn, and on the driveway just north of the garage.  I went out to the shed to get the lawnmower.  I turned the key to start the lawnmower. It cranked some and then quit.  I checked the gas tank and there was plenty of fuel.   I stretched three extinction cards from the south end of the garage to the shed where the lawnmower was stored.  I hooked up the battery charger to the battery.  And I let it charge for about an hour.  After the hour was up, I removed the battery charger.  The lawn mower started right up. One of the front tires was really low.  I drove it to the garage door and put air in the two front tires.  I started two mow the leaves on the back lawn. The mower catcher filled up before I made one pass on the back lawn. It plugged the grass shoot.
I dumped many time before I finished the back lawn.  I then started on the east lawn, there was not so many leaves there.  I blew the leaves off the driveway onto the grass.   I then mowed them up.  It took me most of the afternoon.  One additional comment.  It was cold all day.
I took a picture of the thermometer.  I didn't get the full picture.
So, I took another picture and got the full picture.  We had fried potatoes.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Music Festival

This morning I got up early enough to read another chapter from the book of Genises in the Old Testament. I fed the cats and cooked some old fashion oatmeal mush.  We had our regular breakfast.  We listened to the Sunday morning radio programs.  There was no choir practice this morning, I thought.  When we got to church, I found out that there was choir practice.  The sacrament meeting speakers did a good job. After sacrament meeting, I got the microphone set up for Sunday School.  The teacher did a good job.  For dinner we had backed potatoes, boiled carrots and sausages.   went well.

This evening I went to Fillmore for the stake music festival.

Robert Came

It was late when we went to bed last night. I slept in.  It was 6:30 When I got up.  I fed the cats and then turned on the TV in time to watch the morning news.  I prepared breakfast.  After breakfast I was able to watch part of my morning shows.  Robert went into greenhouse six.  He wanted to spray the alfalfa that was growing in house six with 24D which would kill the alfalfa. There were still a lot of leaves on the fruit trees.  The 24D would drift and damage the fruit trees.   He did spray the weeds in house five.

We worked some in house six.  Robert dug up some of the alfalfa plants.   He started up the big tiller and tilled down the center rows and the rows along the north side of house six.  The above photo show him gathering up the alfalfa plants, they were they were put in a pile outside of house six.
This photo shows Robert diging up the alfalfa plants.  The fruit tree on the left shows a lot of green leaves.
This photo shows much of house six free of weeds, I got the garden hose.  Robert gave the fruit trees a good watering.  This morning I again tried to fix the remote.  He worked on it quite a while and wasn't able to get it to work, Robert then went home.   I then went to you tube and found a video on what to do, I watched I watched it several times and after following the instructions, The remote began to work.  By the end of the day, the remote was we watched TV until we went to bed.

The Remote Didn't Work

We went to the Provo Temple this morning.  We had to get up a little earlier than usual.  I was around seven when we left.

I took this picture a little later on the way to Linden.  The blue sky and the clouds made a pretty picture.

It was raining some and off to the west there was a pretty rainbow.  It is hard to see in this photo.
We could see the rainbow for quite a while. It is easier to see in the above photo.  We drove to Linden where we picked up Miles and Nyleen Batty.  We then drove to the Provo Temple. It was raining some.  I had to park nearly at the west end of the parking lot.  It rained on me all the way to the entrance of the temple.    We were a little early and we were able to get on the earlier session.  After the session was over, we took the Batty's home.
I took this photo from the Batty's driveway.  It is picture of the Linden Temple.  It is hard to see the temple steeples.   We then drove to the Hyundai shop to see if they could fix the problems that our car has.  We went to Sam's Club and parked in the parking lot where we ate the lunch that Nyleen prepared for us.  We then went into Sam's Club and bought some groceries and a few other things.  We stopped at the Walmart in Payson.  I took my big TV remote and the little remote that didn't work, the clerk sold me a new remote. I threw away the two that didn't work We then drove home.  It was nearly five when we got home.  When we got home, we ate some more of the lunch that Nyleen made. We watched TV until we went to bed.

I slept in this morning. I planned on getting up a six.  I had a few minutes left, but then went back to sleep. It twenty after six.  I showered, dressed, and said my prayers.  By then it was almost time for the morning news.  I opened the blinds and fed the cats.  I prepared breakfast.  After breakfast I watched the channel 44 programs.  We then drove to Fillmore and stopped in front of the courthouse.  That is where we paid our property taxes.   We drove to the Love gas station and filled the car with gas.  We came home for lunch.  We took some garbage to the dump and had a short drive around town.  After supper we watched TV until we went to bed. No pictures today

Party With Friends

I was up early enough to read another chapter from the Pearl of Great Price.  Moses chapter three.  We watched our Monday morning TV shows.  We drove to Fillmore to buy a pie crust.

Tiger, our cat, spends a lot of time in the box.
We drove to Fillmore to get some pie shells.  She made some, but she wasn't satisfied with them.  She poured her pumpkin pie mix into the shells and baked them.
Alisha wants a golden current bush.  I cleaned the grass and weeds away and soaked it with water.
Here is a lilac bush. I soaked it with water and later i will dig it up and give it to Alisha.
Big Tom was in the garden while I was working in the garden.  I called him several times and he walked up to me.  I petted him several times and then he walked a short distant away.
Big Tom and another cat that will call Little Tom are about ready to fight.  They growled a little and then went their separate ways.
There was a big clump of asparagus between the two raised beds. I cut all of them down and put them on a compost pile.
This a bag of garbage the was left in house five, I put it in the wheel barrow and left it on the lawn east of the driveway,
Carol and I were invited to a dinner at the home of Suzanne and Thayne Hillestad home.  Everyone that came, brought some food item.
Carol brought two pumpkin pies.  There was a lot of other food items.  The Hillestad's furnished baked potatoes.   It started at six and it was dark when we left.  They live on the east side of main street.  They provided several games.   We ate supper.  We then watched TV until we went to bed.
