Saturday morning. Turned on the news. Made mush. Fed the cats. Richard left. Made toast.
The nights have been cold. The above picture is of the ice in house two.
The leaves are falling off the fig bushes in house five.
I write all most every day of what goes on in our home in the garden and in the nursery. We are ordinance workers at the Manti Temple on the Tuesday morning shift and the Saturday evening shift. In addition there are several trips to Utah county a couple of times a month and a few short trips to other mountain west areas. Our family is most important to us. All of our children live in Utah except one who lives in Kentucky.
Saturday morning. Turned on the news. Made mush. Fed the cats. Richard left. Made toast.
The morning started like another good day. I was up at 6:20 this morning. I showered, shaved and made my bed. I fed the cats and prepared breakfast. Richard got up a little later and Carol got up still later. I watched the MeTV shows. Carol vacuumed the floors during TV commercials. Carol answered the phone. It was Lorena who worked for us many years ago. Alisha called and wanted to go with us to Fillmore. I was a little after eleven when we drove to her house. Carol honked the horn several times. I rang her doorbell several times. No answer. We then went home, and Carol called her. We would pick her up after company left.
The above photo is of Lorena and her family. After a brief visit they left for California, they gave us some raisons made from grapes where he works. Alisha called and said that she didn't need a ride to Fillmore.
They also gave us some lemons and persimmon fruits. We then went to Fillmore for some groceries and gas. we drove to Fillmore for gas and groceries.
I put the battery charger on for a couple of hours. When I tried to start the lawnmower there was nothing even though the charge had been on for a couple of hours. I searched online for a new battery. Richard said that when it is so cold the battery will lose its charge.
the day started off really good. I got up on time and after showering I put on my best clothes for our trip to Layton Utah where Lisa our daughter lives, For some reason I thought we would leave at 7: I fixed fed the cats and fixed breakfast.
Got up again this morning at the right time. I tuned the furnace on, showered dressed and then fed the cats. Carol got up and started the washer. She showered and then done her hair,
I woke up several times during the night, but the last time I woke up was it was 6:20 which is the time that I like to get up. I started my old fashion oatmeal mush. After breakfast we watched the morning MeTV shows. We drove to Loves in Fillmore for gasoline.
We stopped at Loves and filled our car with gasoline. That is not a picture of our car.Carol touched me this morning which woke me up. It was after seven. I showered and shaved. I had missed the 1:00 news but did start the MeTV shows. Carol fed the cats, and I started breakfast. I then watched the MeTV shows. Carol went for the mail. There wasn't any. I walked out to house five and watered some of the plants. This evening Richard and Elizebeth called. No photos today.
The day started wrong. I try to get at 6:20. I got close to 6:20 and I went back to sleep. It was nearly seven when I got. I turned on the news and started making my mush. I went to feed the cats and there was a dead cat laying the shrubbery. I took it out to the south garden where I dug a hole and buried it. Then there was another dead cat in the bottom bunk. I also buried it next to the other kittens.
I put the battery charger on the lawn mower. While it was charging I had lunch. The day started out good this morning. We watched the morning news, and the MeTV shows.
The eyes of one of the kittens was closed. The kitten struggled to get loose, but Carol persisted and got the eyes opened. In the afternoon I found a dead kitten in the middle bunk of the cat house. It was 3:30 when I called the veterinarian. They close at four. I put the dead kitten in a shopping bag and drove to Fillmore. I got some medicine for the eyes. I came home and opened the garage door. A yellow kitten came out of the garage. I drove into the garage and shut the door. I took medicine into the kitchen. I found out that I had ran over the yellow kitten. I buried the black kitten and then I buried the yellow kitten int the south garden. There is three kittens buried there. One buried yesterday and two buried today.
Busy today. I watched the morning news, and the MeTV shows.
We drove to Fillmore to remove the insurance on the truck.
We took the garbage to the dump and mailed a greeting card at the post office. We then went to the Payson, Utah Walmart. The main reason for this trip was to buy a birthday present for Carol's friend. We also bought a few other things. I wanted to go to the animal hospital for some eye drops for our kittens. We didn't go in the right direction, so we headed for home. We stopped at Wendy in Nephi for some drinks, fry's and a couple of small hamburgers. We then went home.
Up at 6:20 this morning. Showered, dressed and turned on the morning news. Fed the cats and kittens,
There are four old frying pans. The photo shows one of the smaller ones. There are three other frying pans. With this new one, all of the cats and kittens have room to eat.
The sacrament meeting and Sunday school were very good. Most of our Sunday dinner was cooked when we got home.
I was up this morning at my preferred time. 6:20. It was still dark. Turned on the morning news. I was mainly about president elect, Donald Trump and his cabinet selection. I fixed breakfast. We watched the morning EmTV. shows. I checked the oil level in the car. It was down about one-half quart. I had a bowl of clam chowder soup for lunch. At 2:45 Carol got haircut and a perm. She really looks nice. While she was gone, I watched a high school football game. I went out to the shed to start the lawnmower. The battery was dead. I plugged the extension cords and hooked the battery charger to the battery. I went into the house and after 15 minutes. I got some gas.
I removed the charger and backed the lawnmower out of the shed. I filled the gas tank. I then got the compressor and pumped up the two front tires. I began mowing the front lawn and soon filled the bags and the grass shoot. I dumped most of the front lawn grass on the weeds east of the house. I dumped most of the grass in the same area.
After mowing the east lawn, I began mowing the back lawn. The lawnmower acted like the it didn't have any power. I noticed that the mower deck was set at one inch. I set it at two inches. It began to mow again. I dumped the bags many times. I blew the leaves of the patio. I turned off the mower each time I dumped the grass. Each time I turned the ignition key on it acted like the battery was dead. I turned it on and it started right up.It was after seven when I woke up this morning. The morning news was already on when I turned on the TV. I started the mush and then fed the cats. I started the mush. It rained and snowed some. After breakfast we watched the morning TV program, Matlock was soon interrupted after the show began. I had some baked squash, and a shredded potato covered with gravy and a piece of toast for lunch. I found a YouTube video showing how I can change the time on our car. I opened the garage door and started the car. I tried many times and finally changed the time to standard time. I updated yesterday's blog. Carol shredded some potatoes and fried them for supper. We also had frozen sweet corn. Both were good. Carol's glasses need some fixing, we put some super glue on the broken part. We will check in the morning,
It was 6:20 when I got up. I turned om the morning news and the fed the cats. Carol showered and did her hair. I fixed breakfast. We then watched the morning TV shows. It was eleven when we left Holden. There were a lot of trucks going in both directions. We went to Costco. we were there about a half hour early. We walked through the store. Carol was looking for a birthday present for here good friend, Linda Slater. We then went to the hearing center. Nancy, the direct helped Carol. She was then able to insert her hearing aids. We bought a few things that included grapes. We wanted to visit Ann Stephenson who was in a care center. We had her address. We went up and down the streets in Santaquin and finally the extended care center. We Stopped at the Nisson garage to have someone help change the time on the clock and a few other things, but there was no one there. It is still under construction. Bought some ice cream at the red barn. It was pretty messy while eating it. We stopped in Mona and finished eating the ice cream, we stopped at the park in Nephi and threw our cups away. We then drove the rest of the way home. It was good to wash the sticky ice cream off of our hands. The weather for cast was for rain or snow. I thought that it would be a good idea the mow up the leaves on the east side of our house. The lawn mower would not start because the battery was dead. I drug out a extension cord and the battery charger. I left it on for about twenty minutes. I then mowed up the leaves. the grass catcher quickly filled. I had to dump them quite a few times. The sun had gone down by the time I put the lawn mower away.
SUNDAY: Richerd was gone when I got up, which is rather common for him. I made a batch of old fashion oatmeal mush. When he got home there was bowl of mush waiting for him. Carol fried him couple of eggs. After breakfast I made tapioca pudding. I turned out to be soupy. It tasted good anyway. Carol took me to choir practice. There was a pretty good group at the practice. The speakers were good as well as priesthood and relief society meetings, we then came home to a good Sunday dinner. Richard got his things together and went back to his job. He has to work tomorrow.
SATURDAY: 9 November
The dahlia tubers have dried out. I put then in a large bucket and filled it with water. I hope that I saved them.I was up in time for the morning news. I started the oatmeal mush which I eat every morning. I fed the cats and kittens. After breakfast we watched the morning TV shows. Carol went after the mail. I walked out to the greenhouses. Everything was okay. I watered most of the plants in house five. After lunch there was a knock on the door.
This is the SURPISE: Jessica and Kameron were at the door. We had a nice visit and talked about where our paths crossed. Manti temple, Snow college, and Nephi. We sure love those guys. After they left, I divided all of the dahlia clomps.
The tubers are pretty dry. I hope to put them in a bucket of water. This evening, we drove around town. I discovered a tag on the windshield on the driver's side that listed the milage for the next oil change. We have another 2,000 miles to go before the next oil change. It was a little after seven when we left Holden. The trip was uneventful. Carol does such a good job at driving. She got in the HOV lane and mist the construction. The lights were green when we exerted the freeway at 1600 north. We drove to the home of Miles and Nyleen Batty. All of the lights were green. I found a handicap parking place close to the temple. When the session was over, we took the Batty's home. Nyleen made us a sack lunch which we ate on our way home. I went out to the greenhouses to see if there were any problems with the watering system. Everything was good. Four of the kittens had eyes that were closed. We gave them a treatment.
