Slept In

Carol touched me this morning which woke me up.  It was after seven.  I showered and shaved.   I had missed the 1:00 news but did start the MeTV shows.  Carol fed the cats, and I started breakfast.  I then watched the MeTV shows. Carol went for the mail.  There wasn't any.  I walked out to house five and watered some of the plants.  This evening Richard and Elizebeth called.  No photos today.

What a Day

The day started wrong.  I try to get at 6:20.   I got close to 6:20 and I went back to sleep.  It was nearly seven when I got.  I turned on the news and started making my mush.  I went to feed the cats and there was a dead cat laying the shrubbery.  I took it out to the south garden where I dug a hole and buried it. Then there was another dead cat in the bottom bunk.  I also buried it next to the other kittens.

I put the battery charger on the lawn mower.  While it was charging I had lunch.
After lunch, I started to mow the lawn.  There were a lot of leaves on the lawn which quickly filled up the bags.
Here the battery charger is hooked up to the battery.  It was on nearly 45 minutes.

Kitten Trouble

The day started out good this morning.   We watched the morning news, and the MeTV shows.

The eyes of one of the kittens was closed.  The kitten struggled to get loose, but Carol persisted and got the eyes opened.  In the afternoon I found a dead kitten in the middle bunk of the cat house.  It was 3:30 when I called the veterinarian.  They close at four.  I put the dead kitten in a shopping bag and drove to Fillmore.  I got some medicine for the eyes.  I came home and opened the garage door.  A yellow kitten came out of the garage.  I drove into the garage and shut the door.   I took medicine into the kitchen.  I found out that I had ran over the yellow kitten.  I buried the black kitten and then I buried the yellow kitten int the south garden.  There is three kittens buried there. One buried yesterday and two buried today.
I wrapped the dahlias in newspaper and clear plastic wrap.  I put them in a bucket and the took them to the garage.  I will plant them in the spring.
I pulled a piece of clear plastic.  Then I would cut it with a utility knife.  The day ended bad.

Pomegranate

Busy today.  I watched the morning news, and the MeTV shows.

with the help of Carol, I removed the storm door.  I was really heavy.  The door is gone in the above photo.  I had recently fed the cats and kittens.
I harvested all of the pomegranate seeds.
The heavy storm door leaning against a tree.  I had to remove a whole bunch of screws before I could get the door off.
Here the pomegranate cracked open.
I wrapped the dahlias with news paper and plastic and put them in the bucket to store them until next spring.
The were so dry that I put them in a bucket of water.

We drove to Fillmore to remove the insurance on the truck.

Walmart

We took the garbage to the dump and mailed a greeting card at the post office.  We then went to the Payson, Utah Walmart.   The main reason for this trip was to buy a birthday present for Carol's friend.  We also bought a few other things.  I wanted to go to the animal hospital for some eye drops for our kittens.  We didn't go in the right direction, so we headed for home.  We stopped at Wendy in Nephi for some drinks, fry's and a couple of small hamburgers.  We then went home.

Sunday

Up at 6:20 this morning. Showered, dressed and turned on the morning news.  Fed the cats and kittens,

There are four old frying pans.  The photo shows one of the smaller ones. There are three other frying pans.  With this new one, all of the cats and kittens have room to eat.

The sacrament meeting and Sunday school were very good.  Most of our Sunday dinner was cooked when we got home.

Some of kittens have eyes that are stuck shut.  Carol wraps the kitten with a towel and uses a wet napkin to soften the eye and wipe off the softened eye discharge.

Does anyone else have kittens with the eyes stuck shut?

A Good Morning

I was up this morning at my preferred time. 6:20. It was still dark.  Turned on the morning news.  I was mainly about president elect, Donald Trump and his cabinet selection.  I fixed breakfast.  We watched the morning EmTV. shows.    I checked the oil level in the car.  It was down about one-half quart.  I had a bowl of clam chowder soup for lunch.   At 2:45 Carol got haircut and a perm.  She really looks nice.  While she was gone, I watched a high school football game.  I went out to the shed to start the lawnmower.  The battery was dead.  I plugged the extension cords and hooked the battery charger to the battery.  I went into the house and after 15 minutes. I got some gas.

I removed the charger and backed the lawnmower out of the shed.  I filled the gas tank.  I then got the compressor and pumped up the two front tires.  I began mowing the front lawn and soon filled the bags and the grass shoot.  I dumped most of the front lawn grass on the weeds east of the house.  I dumped most of the grass in the same area.

After mowing the east lawn, I began mowing the back lawn.  The lawnmower acted like the it didn't have any power.  I noticed that the mower deck was set at one inch.  I set it at two inches.  It began to mow again.    I dumped the bags many times.  I blew the leaves of the patio.  I turned off the mower each time I dumped the grass.  Each time I turned the ignition key on it acted like the battery was dead.  I turned it on and it started right up.

Pulled Geraniums

Another day of sleeping in. I was late getting up, but not the way I wanted to.  I showered, dressed and said my prayers.  I watched some of the news. The news seems to be about Donald Trump.  Carol got up and vacuumed the family room.  I swept the kitchen floor.  We cleaned the eyes of five kittens.  After breakfast we watched the morning TV shows.  For some reason we lost reception for the Channel 44 shows.  It finally came back.  After lunch I called a veterinarian to get some medication for curing the eyes of some of the kittens.  The Vet was out of town.

I watered the pomegranate shrub in house five.  This odd-looking tomato was on the huge tomato plant.
I worked quite a long time pulling the geranium plants in the kidney.   A sweet potato was my supper.  The phone rang and it was Melisa.  I had a hard time hearing her.  I finally was able to hears her.   I gave the phone to Carol.  Carol talked to her for quite a while.  Lisa was there helping her with her conversation.

Abnormal Day

It was after seven when I woke up this morning.  The morning news was already on when I turned on the TV.  I started the mush and then fed the cats. I started the mush.  It rained and snowed some.   After breakfast we watched the morning TV program, Matlock was soon interrupted after the show began.  I had some baked squash, and a shredded potato covered with gravy and a piece of toast for lunch.  I found a YouTube video showing how I can change the time on our car.  I opened the garage door and started the car. I tried many times and finally changed the time to standard time.  I updated yesterday's blog.  Carol shredded some potatoes and fried them for supper.  We also had frozen sweet corn.  Both were good.  Carol's glasses need some fixing, we put some super glue on the broken part.  We will check in the morning,

The Ear Doctor

It was 6:20 when I got up.  I turned om the morning news and the fed the cats.  Carol showered and did her hair.  I fixed breakfast.  We then watched the morning TV shows.  It was eleven when we left Holden.  There were a lot of trucks going in both directions.  We went to Costco. we were there about a half hour early.  We walked through the store.  Carol was looking for a birthday present for here good friend, Linda Slater.   We then went to the hearing center.  Nancy, the direct helped Carol.  She was then able to insert her hearing aids.  We bought a few things that included grapes.  We wanted to visit Ann Stephenson who was in a care center.  We had her address.  We went up and down the streets in Santaquin and finally the extended care center.  We Stopped at the Nisson garage to have someone help change the time on the clock and a few other things, but there was no one there. It is still under construction.  Bought some ice cream at the red barn.  It was pretty messy while eating it.  We stopped in Mona and finished eating the ice cream, we stopped at the park in Nephi and threw our cups away.  We then drove the rest of the way home.  It was good to wash the sticky ice cream off of our hands.  The weather for cast was for rain or snow.  I thought that it would be a good idea the mow up the leaves on the east side of our house.  The lawn mower would not start because the battery was dead.  I drug out a extension cord and the battery charger.  I left it on for about twenty minutes.  I then mowed up the leaves. the grass catcher quickly filled.  I had to dump them quite a few times.  The sun had gone down by the time I put the lawn mower away.

Sunday

SUNDAY:    Richerd was gone when I got up, which is rather common for him.  I made a batch of old fashion oatmeal mush.  When he got home there was bowl of mush waiting for him.  Carol fried him couple of eggs.  After breakfast I made tapioca pudding.   I turned out to be soupy.  It tasted good anyway.  Carol took me to choir practice.  There was a pretty good group at the practice.  The speakers were good as well as priesthood and relief society meetings, we then came home to a good Sunday dinner.  Richard got his things together and went back to his job.  He has to work tomorrow.

SATURDAY:  9 November

The dahlia tubers have dried out.  I put then in a large bucket and filled it with water.  I hope that I saved them.
Robert is cutting small branches off a felled tree.
Justen is cutting large logs into small pieces.
He continues cutting logs.
Justen is at the top of the ladder.  He cuts off branches and hooks a cable above the ladder.
Here is another picture greenhouse six is on the left.
The logs are cut into pieces.  I stacked them.
Tree and shrubs are fed into the chipper.

Surprise

I was up in time for the morning news.  I started the oatmeal mush which I eat every morning.  I fed the cats and kittens.  After breakfast we watched the morning TV shows.  Carol went after the mail.   I walked out to the greenhouses.  Everything was okay.   I watered most of the plants in house five.  After lunch there was a knock on the door.

This is the SURPISE:   Jessica and Kameron were at the door.  We had a nice visit and talked about where our paths crossed.  Manti temple, Snow college, and Nephi.  We sure love those guys.   After they left, I divided all of the dahlia clomps.

The tubers are pretty dry.  I hope to put them in a bucket of water.  This evening, we drove around town. I discovered a tag on the windshield on the driver's side that listed the milage for the next oil change.  We have another 2,000 miles to go before the next oil change.

Weekly Temple Trip

It was a little after seven when we left Holden.  The trip was uneventful. Carol does such a good job at driving.  She got in the HOV lane and mist the construction.  The lights were green when we exerted the freeway at 1600 north.  We drove to the home of Miles and Nyleen Batty.  All of the lights were green.  I found a handicap parking place close to the temple.  When the session was over, we took the Batty's home.  Nyleen made us a sack lunch which we ate on our way home.  I went out to the greenhouses to see if there were any problems with the watering system.  Everything was good.  Four of the kittens had eyes that were closed.  We gave them a treatment.

Freezing

As soon as i got up this morning I turned the TV news.  Donald Trump was elected president of the United States of America.  I fed the cats and fixed breakfast.  After breakfast we watched the morning TV shows.  When they were over, I got the mail. After lunch I dug up the rest of the dahlias and put them on the cart.  I pushed the cart to house six.  I then sprayed water on them and cleaned away all of the dirt,

Early this evening, I went back to the greenhouses.  I was afraid that the pipes in house two would freeze and break.  I turned a control valve and was able to get a tap running a little drip.  That turned on water in house five and in house six.  It took me a long time to get the water adjusted to a slow drip.

Cold Day

I slept in this morning.  but was able to watch the TV news and the morning channel 44 TV shows.  i made the old fashion oatmeal mush.  While it was cooking, I fed the cats.   I walked out to greenhouse five to water the plants there.  There is a valve in house two.  I turned it on the smallest amount which increased the water flow in house five.  I watered most of the plants.  I picked two pomegranates.  They had begun to open.

Carol broke them open.  I tasted some of them, but they were not very sweet.

Most of the news today is about the elections.

Sunday and Monday

Sunday: I got up an hour early this morning.  I forgot to change the clock.  I fed the cats and there is a lot of them.

Monday:  After breakfast we watched the morning TV shows.  Elisha called and asked us to go to Fillmore.  It was eleven when we left Holden.  We dropped Elisha at the Fillmore Market.   We then went the Bank of Southern Utah where we deposited the money that Carol received from the sale of her car.  We then went back to the market.  Elisha soon came back.  It was to the drug store where Carol bought some greeting cards.  We then went home.  Carol stopped in front of Elisha's car.

This is a test picture for cropping photos.

MONDAY:

I was on the phone with Dan Speakman for a long time.  I took this picture as a test.
I dug up the dahlias that were growing in the kidney.
This is one clump.  I took it into greenhouse five.  It is drying out one the cart.
I pot old growbags in the hole where there is a shut off valve.  This large nursery can has a hole in the bottom.  I put it over the stem and then filled the nursery can with more root control growbags.  This will prevent the PVC stem from freezing.
One of our cats died during the night in the bottom bunk of the cat house.  I  dug a hole in the south garden and buried it.
This floor mat one the back porch had some blood on it. I washed and scrubbed it with a broom.  It is hanging on the railing to dry.  I also washed the blood off the porch Steps.
These are sweet potatoes, they are black and dirty.
Another picture.  The black one on the left is the mother sweet potato.
The same potato one the grass right after I dug it.

Fast Sunday

Day light saving time came to an end at two this morning.  I got up and checked my Apple device it showed the end of day light savings. I went back to bed.  later I got up.  I opened the front door.  There was about an inch of snow on the lawn. I showered, dressed, shaved and said my prayers.  I turned on the TV.  The snow had covered the satellite dish.  I cleaned it with a long-handled broom.  The TV reception was good.  I fed the cats. Carol prepared the food for dinner.  I made a batch of tapioca pudding.  We watched some of the channel eleven program.  We went to sacrament meeting.  There was not many people there because of the snow and time change.

There was two missionaries there.  Each gave a short talk.  A few others got up and gave short talks.  A few others got up and bore a testimony of the Savior.  The Sunday School meeting was pretty good.  We went home for a good dinner.  We watched more of channel eleven programming.  At 4:45 we went back to church where we met with the bishop to declare our donation.  We are both full tithing payers.

Visitors

I was up early this morning. It had snowed some during the night.  The TV wouldn't work because of the snow. I cleaned the dish with a long handle broom.   I turned on the TV and for some reason there was changing images.  I had to shut unplug the TV for about ten seconds.  I turned on the local news.  After breakfast I cut down all of the hibiscus stems and took them to the compost pile.  I then got the large cart.  There are two large flowerpots.  I put one on the cart and took to the garden west of the garage.  I was going to get the other one when a car stopped north of the house.   I entered the house through the back door.  I told Carol that she had company.  She went to the front door.      It was Larry and Leslie Peay.   Carol's brother and sister-in-law.  After a few hugs and handshakes, we went into the front room.  We visited and shared memories. I took several pictures.

The above photo is of Larry and Leslie Peay.
This a fuzzy selfie.
I dug the last of the sweet potatoes and washed them in house five.   I removed all of the hanging baskets.  There were a couple of the potted dahlias which I took to house five.
