Great Sacrament Meeting

I fixed breakfast this morning. Before we ate Richard came back from his early morning drive.  Later we went to church, I missed choir practice.   The program was very good. There was a lot of music. There were some who sang and there were some who played the piano.  Richard left.  Carol made a batch of cookies; we delivered some cookies to some of our friends.  While we were delivering, we drove around town to see the Christmas lights.

Trees Pruned

This morning was pretty regular.  I made a new batch of old fashion oatmeal mush.  We watched the morning news and TV shows.  The doorbell rang. There was a man at the door and called me by name.  He was here to prune the trees that were close to the power line.  There was a big truck backed in on our driveway.  He said that he was waiting for the rest of the equipment.  After a while they came.

This is a picture of the chipper and trailer on the other side of my truck.
A closer look at the chipper.  Someone would feed the tree branches in to the chipper.  The chips were blown into the trailer.
There was a man in the bucket cutting the higher branches off.
The truck is in the driveway.  One of the workers is in the bucket.
There are two braces supporting the truck.  One is on each side.
Here the workers are cleaning all off the little branches and putting them in the shipper.  After they left.  Carol and I got the containers of nuts and a few presents and drove around town delivering the gifts.   Richard came tonight and will stay with us for the weekend, Calico showed up on the front porch, I took her some cat food and some water.

Quick Trip

It was a little after eight this morning when we left Holden.  Traffic was pretty light as we drove to Payson.  Carol needed a few more presents.  We walked up and down the rows until we she got what she wanted.  She got a present for my sister, Karla, she wrapped it in the car. She then put a bow and label on it.  We drove to her home in Santaquin. We visited for a while and then drove home.  We picked up the mail.  Later in the afternoon we drove to Fillmore and bought some groceries.  I paid my bill at Ropers.  We then went to the drug store.  Carol got some medication and birthday cards.

Starting Over

This morning was the same old thing with a few exceptions.  One exception was a trip to the dump.  We had a lot of household garbage.  On the way home we picked up the mail.  We had lunch of fried potatoes and jello.  We watched TV and Carol had an appointment with Dr. Grose at 1:30 this afternoon.  I put on my new pants.  Carol drove to the clinic.  We were plenty early.  We waited in the waiting room.  Carol had to have a blood draw.  Later we went into the exam room and waited some more.  Finally, Dr. Grose came in and gave Carol a thorough exam.  He recommended that she would have a cat scan, we waited about one half hour before the cat scan.  On the way home we stopped at the drug store for some medication which will relieve some the pain in her legs.

While I was waiting for Carol and her cat scan, I had one of the ladies behind the counter take two pictures of me and the Christmas skeleton.
Tonight, after dark Calico showed up on the front porch.  I took her a dish of cat food and a drink of water.

I was told that I would have to move my further east because the tree pruning people were going to prune some of my trees and the truck was in the way.

Trip

We stopped at the bank where Carol got 10 twenty-dollar bills.  We the got some gas at the gas station.  While I was filling the car with gas, a woman came by.  I couldn't understand what she was saying.  I had her talk to Carol.  She was a dark completion woman.  Carol gave her $20.  We got a couple of things at the Dollar store.  I got my flashlight and the drove to the Walmart store in Payson.  We were there for a long time walking up and down the rows looking for presents. Carol bought me a pair of dress pants. We then drove to Sams Club and got a few groceries.   Our next stop was at the distribution center.  We couldn't get what Carol wanted.  We then drove home.  This evening Rod, the town worker stopped by and told me that someone would be pruning the trees that were over the power line.  Our truck was in the way.  We would have to moved it,  I thought Rod could move it.  I got a couple pieces of chain, but they were not long enough.  I called Richard, our neighbor, if he could move our truck.  He got a long chain and hooked one end to his truck and the other end to his truck pulled it east until it was out of the way.

Tonight, Calico showed up at the front door. We haven't seen here for a couple of months.  I gave here some cat food and water.

Richfield

A regular day this morning.  We left Holden this morning at twelve this morning headed for Richfield for an appointment with my doctor for a checkup at the hospital.  We were early so we drove though Richfield.  Richfield is a big town or a big city.  Everything was good.  We then drove home.  I had pork and beans for lunch.

I took some pictures.
We saw a big herd of buffalo on the way.
Here is picture of the hospital.  We were on the second floor.
This a picture of old gas pumps in Scipio.

I turned the radio on to listen to church music.  I didn't need to fix breakfast because it was fast Sunday.  Carol prepared the food for dinner.  We then went to church.  When we got to church, I was told that I missed choir practice. We usually don't practice on fast Sunday,

Outdoor Lights

After breakfast we watched channel seven programs. I went to the post office and got the mail.  It was lightly raining. Lunch was pork and beans. I then got the Christmas lights out. There was a string of lights in the shed.  I laid them on the front lawn.  I found the strings of lights in the garage; I put one string on the shrubs west of the posts and the other sting on the east post.  I put a long string on the shrub in the kidney.  It was getting cold, so I quit and went into the house.

You can't see the lights on the shrubs.
You can't see the lights the kidney.

Back to the Mount Timpanogos Temple

It was about seven when we left Holden this morning, Traffic went smoothly most of the way. Most of the traffic lights turned green as we approached them. We picked Nyleen and made our way to the temple.  We missed the turn to the east.  We turned around and got on the right road.  Carol was driving and stopped near the temple door. I parked the car.  We had a good session.  Nyleen had a sack lunch for us, On the way home we stopped at the Payson Walmart.  Carol bought some presents for some of our grand kids.  We ate the lunch on the way home.  When we got home, I mowed the lawns. The grass was not tall enough to mow but I mowed up the leaves.
This is how the lawn looks after I finished the mowing.
The front tires on the lawn mower were flat.  I carried the compressor that was in the garage out to the shed and pumped up the front tires, The belt that run the blade had come off.  I was able to get it on.  The belt that drives the wheels forward or backward slipped so it was difficult drive.  However, J was able to mow up the leaves.

I filled the bags three or four times and dumped them on the south garden.

Clinic

A different morning.  I got up showered and dressed.  I opened the front door.  There was a dusting of snow on the sidewalk.  After breakfast we watched some of the morning TV shows.  I say some because I kept falling asleep.  I had to go to the Fillmore hospital for some blood tests.  We then went to the Fillmore market for some groceries.  Carol made some egg salad sandwiches for lunch.

I was standing on the back porch looking south when I took this picture.
I was standing on the front porch when I took the picture.  Both pictures show just a dusting of snow.

Cat House

The coldest morning.  We have a whipped cream container on the back porch full of water for the cats.  It was frozen this morning.  After breakfast and a couple of TV shows, we drove to Fillmore for groceries and medication.  We then came home for lunch. After I began to build a cat house.  I found a couple of one inch plywood.  I began to cut it the right sizes and then put it together and ended with a cat house. It is setting against the garage wall.  picture tomorrow.
