Easter Message

Easter Message

Jesus Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane prior to his crucifixion suffered for the sins of all mankind. "And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground." Luke 22:44 Making it possible for all to inherit one of heavenly Father's, "many mansions" John 14:2
The dawn of the first day of the week an angle announced "He is not here: for he is risen..." Matthew 28:6 The message of the first Easter morning. Because of Jesus, everyone will be resurrected.
I know this to true.

Another Clean-up

Carol hinted that it might be a good time to clean the brume east of our house.  This afternoon I started it.  I dug up all the old fountain grass plants that had died during the winter.

Grave Side Services

We got several calls yesterday about the death of my cousin, Clorene.  There was no funeral, but graveside service at the cemetery in Lynndle.  The service were to begin at 20:30.  When we got there we about a half hour early.  We drove around town and then went back to the cemetery.  There were a few people.  As we walked in we saw some people that we knew.  As more came there were cousins and friends that we knew.  The service started about an hour later.  Her son conducted the service and some of his siblings and kk

Provo City Center Temple Dedication

We have been waiting for nearly five years for the dedication of the Provo City Center Temple in downtown Provo, Utah.  Over the years since the Provo Tabernacle burned down we have observed growing back almost from month to month.
The photo Is taken inside the temple after we had completed the tour.  The temple is a large print that were standing in front while a volunteer took a picture and emailed to us.

The temple was dedicated today.   The first session started at nine this morning.  Twelve and three  this afternoon were the two additional dedication sessions.  We were at the first session in plenty of time to have our choice of seats.  There was a video presentation showing temples from around the world.  We watched it for forty-five minutes.  Then the dedication meeting began.  It can be viewed in most of the Stake Houses in Utah.

It was a very spiritual meeting.  I was most impressed with Elders Lynn G. Robbins and Kent F. Richards of the Seventy     one of the presidents of the First Quorum of Seventies.   One of the many things that he spoke of was the temple recommend.  He said that it is visa card, a past port card, a deed to our heavenly mansion.

We prepared a Dutch oven dinner which was put on a time bake to be finished by noon. It contained potatoes, Carrots, onions, a beef roast, and one can of mushroom soup.  Carol made some Jello containing canned peaches, and I made some tapioca pudding.  All was very good.

Our Trip to Linden

We went to Linden this morning.  I attended our Sacrament meeting and then came home.  We drove to Linden.  Nyleen and Miles returned from a Temple mission in Palmyra.  They served there nearly two years.  We were a little early, so we stopped at their house first.  It was a nice meeting.  Nyleen spoke first and spoke of their experiences, in regards how the spirit touched the lives of the people in that area.

On the way home, we stopped and visited with Gary and O'leaha.  She is not feeling well.  We had a good visit.  We then came home.

Getting Ready for the Weekend

Yesterday Carol made some cookies that we will be taking to Linden where Miles and Nyleen will be speaking in their Sacrament meeting.

Today I helped her make funeral potatoes.  She cooked the potatoes yesterday.  This morning she peeled the potatoes.  I shredder them.  They are for a funeral tomorrow.  She had to run to Fillmore for sour cream.  She drove the car once and I drove the car twice to Fillmore.
