Colombus Day

I called Andrew Brown this afternoon.  The furnace in greenhouse five hasn't been working.  He was in Arizona and couldn't come. He has an employee who lives in Holden that he would send over.  The doorbell rang.  There was at the door.  He had fixed the thermostat, and it was working. Later I went out to check it. This afternoon I did a lot of pruning of the baskets in greenhouse five.

The tempature in greenhouse five was 86 degrees.  I had to take my jacket off.
There was two large tubs of Chrysanthemums.  I cut off the dead stems.
The large dead stems shaded the new growth under the old stems. The growth can now begin to grow stronger.
This plant had a lot of geraniums in it, I cut all of the dead. It looked like there will be some new growth.
I gave the rest of the lay pellets to the chickens. There are three hens and one rooster.
Four relief Society sister visited Carol this evening for her birthday, they gave her a chocolate candy bar,

Sunday

I really slept in this morning.  I have a sore on the right side of my face that I didn't want to get wet. Therefore, I didn't shower, it was late and Carol woke me up. After breakfast Carol prepared our dinner.  I set the oven timer.  Carol then put it in the oven.  I walked out to greenhouse five.  There was cookie sheet that last night I filled with some water.  It was frozen when I cheeked it this morning. Later this morning we went to church.  The meetings were good.  We then came home for a dinner of meatloaf and baked potatoes.  We were watching TV when the doorbell rang.  Carol went to the door and let four relief society sisters.  They brought Carol birthday present.  It was a large chocolate candy bar.

Saturday Morning

It was six twenty when I got up this morning.  I started making some old fashion mush and then fed the cats.  After breakfast I went to the post office and picked up the mail. I tried on my new levies.  Carol cut two inches off the bottoms my pant legs.  We drove to Fillmore and gassed up the car.  After lunch I fed the chickens.

The lay pellets are all gone.

When the sun shines and warms up greenhouse five. I worked for over an hour printing two family pictures.  This afternoon Carol and I went for a little ride around Holden.

Back to the Temple

t was seven when we left Holden this morning.  We picked up Nyleen and then drove to the Mount Timpanogos temple.  After the session we took Nyleen hack home.  She gave us a sack lunch which we ate on the way home.  It was nearly one when we drove in to Holden.  There was no mail.  Id watered some of the plants in greenhouse five.  We had eggs, bacon, orange juice, and pancakes for supper.

Good Morning

Showered, dressed and fed the cats.  I had old fashion oatmeal mush and two eggs for breakfast. I watched the morning TV shows.  We had leftovers from yesterday for lunch.  After lunch I went out to greenhouse five to see how things were.  We needed to have our car insured so we could travel and the car quit running we could call for help.

The temperature 91 degrees.
Later I fed the chickens.  There are three hens and one rooster.  The feeder is half full and it should last for a couple of months.  I worked for nearly an hour trying to print the picture and give it to Carol's sister, Nyleen.  I was not able to do it.

At four I went to the dental office to have my lower denture adjusted.  It didn't take very long, and the cost was very reasonable.

Back in the Saddle

This morning after breakfast and after some of the TV shows, we drove to Fillmore and filled the car with gas.  Carol made sandwiches for lunch.  I walked out to greenhouse five.  The furnace failed to turn on.  I called Andrew Browm to fix the furnace.  Cody who lives in Holden, came right over.  He fixed it.

I called a dermatologist to fix a sore on my cheek.  My appointment is nearly two months away.

catch up

After breakfast and some of the morning TV shows we drove to Provo.  We stopped at Sam's Club and bought some cat food and some groceries.  We then drove to the Provo temple that is under construction. We also stopped at Walmart where the clerk fixed my tablet.

We stopped at the construction site.  I got out of the car and took the picture. The rest off the pictures were taken while my laptop was being fixed.
There was about an inch of snow some fell into the old frying pan that is on the patio.
The temperature in greenhouse five in the afternoon.
The snow in the north garden west of the driveway.  The snow is frozen to the tomato cages.
This is east of the driveway.
This is by the hen house.
Tiger, our cat, sitting in the snow looking up at me.
The snow on the satellite dish turned off our TV.  I cleaned it off with a broom attached to conduit pipe.

The snow on greenhouses five and six.
I stood on the front porch for this picture looking east.
I am standing pm the front porch looking north at our neighbor's house on the other side of the street.
I cleaned geraniums under the front windows before it snowed.
This plants survived the winter in a heated greenhouse without water.
I raked up leaves and put them in this large nursery pot and dumped it in the north garden.
I was able to mow up the leaves on the back lawn.  This was after Christmas.  Richard was here.  He dumped the leaves on the south garden.
This is the Christmas lights that were on the front porch.  He coiled them up and hung them up in the shed.
Water spraying in greenhouse four that turned into ice.
