Good Meetings

I watered some of the plants in the garden.  Carol filled one of the hummingbird feeders this morning. We had one of the better sacrament meetings today. The weather has been pretty hot.  We watched TV most of the afternoon.  The injury to my ribs has not been as painful as they were yesterday.

Robert Helped

After breakfast this morning I started watering the sweet corn in the south garden,  I watered two rows when Robert came.

Robert is pulling weeds by the dahlias.
Robert took me way the canyon east of Holden.   We drove across the creek several times.
There was not as much water here.
It is hard to see, but there is a pine tree that would be good for Christmas.
Robert is collecting water insects.
The sweet corn on the right has a lot of yellow leaves.  On the left is two rows of Peaches & Cream sweet corn.  The have healthy green leaves.  I threw the seeds away for the corn on the right.

The corn on the right is beginning to tassel.  There was a traffic accident on the I-15 south of Holden.

Clinic Visit

Last night Carol made an appointment for me to see a doctor concerning the injury to my ribs on my left side.  After breakfast this morning Carol drove me to the clinic in Fillmore.  The doctor exanimated me.  He said that it might take a couple of months before the pain will be completely gone.  We bought a few groceries at the Fillmore market and then came home.  We were too late to watch the morning TV shows.  I watered the baskets and tubs on the front porch.  This evening, I watered Robert's fruit trees in greenhouse five, I was going the water the sweet corn but didn't because it might rain during the night.

It was about seven when we left Holden for the Timpanogos temple.  Nyleen was able to go.

Zucchini squash plant growing in greenhouse two, There's a lot of male flowers.
I have been watching the grape vines in greenhouse five.  The above photo shows a new bunch that I haven't seen before.  I watered Robert's fruit trees in house five.
An evening primrose east of greenhouse five.
I ate part of a left-over sandwich that Nyleen made for Carol.  I picked a kohlrabi plant growing in greenhouse six.  I cut some thin slices from the blossom end and fried them.  They tasted pretty good.

RAIN

After breakfast we went on a short ride up and down the streets in Holden.  For lunch I had a frozen dinner and a dish of peaches.  The water in greenhouse six had been turned off.  I turned it back on. the power went off.  It was off nearly two hours.

This afternoon I heard some thunder.  A little later it began to rain.  The above photo shows the rain on the front sidewalk,  On the patio there was a large frying pan with a one fourth inch of water in it.
Here the rain is running off the front porch roof.  We had omelets for supper.  Carol prepared the ingredients, and I did the cooking.

Fixed House One

14 July 2025 Monday

Every four or five weeks, Carol washes the bedding from her bed and my bed.  After they dried, we made the bed, we drove to Fillmore for groceries and some medication.  After lunch I mowed the lawns.   The drip line that waters the tomato plants in greenhouse one had a couple bad leaks.  I cut it loose.  I replaced it with another drip line that was not being used.   It worked.  I watered all of the plants in the south and north gardens.

15 July 2025 Tuesday

This morning, I took the weed eater out and trimmed the grass that I missed with the lawn mower.   After that I cut down a lot tall wild rye north of greenhouses one, two, and three.  It uncovered a lot of big rocks that I haven't seen for a long time. I had on my boots.  I tripped and fell on one of the large rocks.  It hurt my ribs. I doesn't hurt is I don't move.

This is where I cut grass.  The big rock is what I fell on.

The large poplar tree east of our house.
This is where I was cutting the tall grass.
Another picture.
I was watering the corn in the south garden. Some of the corn is really yellow/
Here is a picture of most of the sweet corn has a good green color.

Power Off

I was up this morning at 6:20. started the slow cooler.   After dressing I checked the earwig trap in the dahlia plants. There were not many in the trap.  I found that all the lights were off in the house.  For some reason.  I used a match to start the burner. I fried Carol's egg.  I put milk on my mush and the power came back on.  I put in the microwave oven and ended up with some hot mush, Later, we went to church,  After church we had a good dinner.  Tonight, I watered geraniums.
