Warm Day

Up early, showered, shaved, and read from the Book of Mormon.   Didn't do much today.  I got the mail and watched TV.  For lunch, we had pizza.  Carol and I had a drive around town.  Warm weather for this time of the year.  I thought that I would have Dan Speakman fix my laptop so it would work better.  I decided that I would not do it.

I got three books for Carol.  While I was doing this, I got this picture of the Woods Market building.  It has been sold and the buyer had a new roof put on it.  The rest of the evening was more TV.

More Planting Areas

It was about 9:30 when I got the mail.  I came home and opened the door of house five.  I then drove to Fillmore to get some groceries and get a box of chocolates for Carol.  Valentine day is Monday.  My first stop was at the ,  , the new gas station on the south end of Fillmore.  There was a lot of items found in most large gas station.  But there weren't any Valentine chocolates.  I stopped at the flower shop.  I thought there would be chocolates there, but the door was locked.  It was a little after ten.  I got some groceries at the Fillmore Market, but there weren't any chocolates there either.  I then went to the drug store.  I got a box of chocolates.  I then came home.

I wanted more room to plant more garden seeds.  I got another table.  A picture is a couple of pictures down.  I took all of the trays off the bench above.  I found some black plastic to cover the bench.  I used theme clips to secure the plastic to the plywood bench.  I cut off the excess plastic.  Then I put the trays of geraniums back on the bench.  They don't need any bottom heat.
I have a lot of these Styrofoam trays.   I cut them on the table saw so it would fit a cookie sheet.  I used a strainer to remove the big material and leave some fine poting soil to fill the tray.  There is165 cells in the tray.
This is the strainer that I build a long time ago.  It is about sixteen inches square.  I put it over the Styrofoam trays and filled with recycled potting soil.  I was then strained out the rock and sticks which left me with finer potting soil.

Richard Darnel wanted the manual for the compressor.  I found he manual and he was able to find the broken part.  A new part costs $15.00.
I ended up with two Styrofoam trays.  There are 330 cells by combining both trays.  I filled both cooky sheets with water.  The plants will be watered from the bottom.

Tomato Seeds Found

I picked up the mail   One the way home I drove past the old Wood's Market building.  There was a crew of at least twelve people putting a new shingles on the roof.

Onion sprouts.  Will have to wait a couple of weeks to see if the are okay.
Celebrity tomato plants, Seedlings.
Garlick plant barely showing.
Pack of Celebrity tomato seeds.  I have looked four days for these seeds.  I looked through all of my seed packets several times.  This afternoon, I was looking at the table near my desk top computer.  The packet contains 250 seeds.

Door is Fixed

It was nearly twelve when Richard Darnel came to fix the broken hinge in the garage door.  He took it off and then went home where he welded the crack.  I parked our car in front of the garage in case we wouldn't be able to fix it.

He soon brought it back and put it on the door.
Here is another picture of the repaired hinge.  I pushed the open the door button.  It worked perfectly.  I then finished my lunch.
This afternoon I planted the onions.  I filled the small bowel with potting soil and then put water in it.  I mixed the water and soil together.  I then drained off the excess water.  I dumped the sprouted seeds on top of the potting soil. It was hard to get the roots into the soil.  I had some small tweezers that helped some.  I covered all the seeds with a dusting of potting soil.   I sprayed it with water, and then covered it with a zip bag.  The rest of the day was reading the Liahona and watching some TV.

Feed Birds

I didn't sleep in this morning.  I was up plenty early.  I showered, dressed, and shaved.  I read 3 Nephi 23.  It was a short chapter.  Same breakfast:    old fashion oatmeal mush, and a fried egg on a piece of toast.  I watched a couple of interesting shows on TV.  I returned two of Masha Adamson's puzzles.   Before going home, I picked up the mail.  I replaced a burned-out light bulb and put bird feed in the bird feeder.

The bird feeder has been empty for months.  I filled up and got a good picture.  Carol and I drove to Fillmore.  We got two small hamburgers and two orders of fries at Burger King.  We drove home and had them for lunch.  They were pretty good burgers.  I was going to give the extra church magazine, "Liahona" to a friend.  I decided that I should read it first.  I went to the Church web page and read it there.  Some of the articles are written for new church members.

Sabath

Read from the Book of Mormon, and then posted some comments on Face Book.  I fed the cats.   Fast Sunday, so no breakfast.  Carol prepared to bowels of Jello.  One with fruit for me, and one without fruit for her.  I made some tapioca pudding.  We went to church for fast and testimony meeting and Sunday School.  I couldn't get the wireless mike to work.

We came home of dinner and dessert.  Relaxed for most of the day.  This evening we went to a viewing for Stan Harmon who recently died.  We waited in line for nearly an hour.

We went home and had some leftovers for super.

More Clean-up

After breakfast and the Saturday morning news and after three wood-working shows, I picked up the mail. I did more cleaning in house three.

One of the poinsettias in the house was doing poorly.  Carol asked me to put it in the garage.  This morning took it out to house five.  I set it on top of one of the root control bags. I took off the red wrapper and then watered and fertilized it.  I was cleaning in house five.
I found this sign.  It was rolled up on two pieces of wood.   I thought it was one of Shane's signs.  I removed the wood and layed it out flat.  It was my sign that I was going to put by the freeway about sixteen miles north of Holden.  I didn't do it.  I think I got permission from the landowner, but for some reason I did nothing.  The above photo shows the sign and the contents of the sign.  When I got back from the dump, I changed the timer to turn off one hour earlier.  I unplugged the heating pads for the rest of the day.  Carol and I went for a little ride around town.  The "check engine light" came on.  It has done that before.  I parked the car in the garage.  The next time I started the car, it was off.  That didn't work for us today.  I watched several You Tube videos.  The main message was. "don't worry, unless the light begins to flash"
I found this large garbage can which was filled with dry hemp plants.  I dumped the hemp plants and filled garbage can with root control bags.  There were several pieces of black plastic that I took to the dump.  I also to two large boxes, which I filled with junk.  There were four vehicles at the dump at the same time.  It was a little after dark when I plugged in the heating pads.
