The Middle

The start of the day was pretty normal. I turned on the morning news. After breakfast I went out to greenhouse three to get some burlap to cover the topaz melons. Instead, I dug some potatoes. The potato plants were hard to find. I then picked some figs that were growing in greenhouse six.

A dish of figs. The taste so good.
A few small potatoes.
This is the sweet potato after I removed the foil.
This is after mashed and added salt and melted butter. So good.
I covered the topaz melons with burlap. I then the tomato cages on top of them to prevent the wind from blowing them off. This afternoon I mowed the front lawn. The mower worked well. I got two bags of leaves and grass,

I got a picture of two kittens, The orange one on the left and the black one on the right. There is a gray kitten that runs away. They are triplets.
The above photo is of the front lawn, and the photo below also is the front lawn.
More to come. I got out my weed eater and trimmed around the front yard.

Good Rain

After I got up, showered and dressed I turned on the TV to the morning news: there was no signal. I went out to the dish and was able to push a small branch away from the dish, still no TV signal. I cut down some small trees so I could get a little closer to the dish. Carol called and told me that the TV was getting the signal. Carol wanted a new pot for her plant.
This is the pot that contained Carol's plants. I found out later that water was able to leak out the side.
Carol put the plant in black two-gallon nursery pot that we filled with wet pooting soil.
I picked some of these this afternoon.
These are the ones I picked this morning. I took them to the post office. One of Carol's friends came to the post office while I was there. She took them all.

Busy Day

This morning after breakfast we drove to Fillmore where an appointment with a doctor's technician. We then bought some groceries and then went to the drugstore. We were home for a short time when Ray and Maryann were at the door. Later Robert came.

Carol made zucchini bread yesterday. It is so good.
One topaz melon that has been partially eat by deer.

Here is another one.

Ray, Maryann, me, Carol, and Robert. Robert and I walked around the yard. It is beginning to rain. The rain on the leaves above the dish are heavy and hang down over the dish and block the signal. I went outside to shake the tree branches that were hanging over the dish.

Busy

This morning after the morning news and breakfast, Carol called the clinic and made an appointment for me. I have an air bulge just below my chest. Later we went to the clinic where I was examined by a technician. He said that I had a hernia. We stopped at the county courthouse and paid taxes for the car. We got a new sticker for the car. Next, we bought some groceries. Last we stopped at the drug store. Carol got a prescription and I got one.

We were surprised when my brother Ray knocked on the door. I let him and his wife come in. Moments after that, our son Robert rang the doorbell. We had a nice visit. They went up the canyon. They wanted some branches to make walking sticks. It has been raining of and on a little bit.

Fast Sunday

I was up at 6:20, but my alarm didn't wake me up. I fed the cats and prepared my medications for the week. No breakfast because it was fast Sunday. We watched channel eleven, we also wrapped potatoes in foil and put them in the oven. Later we attended our church meetings. There are two meetings. After church Carol boiled two ears of sweet corn and made the best hamburger patties, I watered the topaz melons and the plants in the front yard.
