Halloween

As soon as breakfast was over, we got in the car and drove to Lindon, there was a lot of trucks on the road ahead of us going north.  Also, there was a lot of big truck in the south bound lanes. Traffic was pretty heavy once we got into Utah county.  Carol drove in the HOV lane and we missed most of the heavy traffic.  We pricked up the Batty's and went to the Mount Timpanogos Temple. I parked the car.  We had a good session and then took the Batty's back home.  We stopped at Sam's Club for groceries, we then headed home.  We had trouble passing some of the big trucks that seemed to be racing down the road.  Nyleen fixes us sack lunches which we ate on the way home. We got home a little after two.  

This evening we had sixteen "trick or treaters" that rang our doorbell.  

Off to Richfield

I had an appointment with my urologist in Richfield. We were then with plenty of time to spare.  I checked in and after a short time we were called to the exam room.  A little time later when the worker came.  He asked me a number of questions.  We then drove home.  It was 11:30 when we walked into the house.  I had a bowl of split pea soup.  It was pretty good.  After lunch we drove to Fillmore.  Our first stop was at Roper's.  I bought a half inch cap and some super glue.  I fixed Carol's wallet with the glue.  I then capped the broken pipe.  I turned on the water it started spray all over.  The water was coming out a short pipe in house five.  I found some more pipe and other parts and was able to fix it, 

I then hooked the hose to the hydrant and watered most of the plants in house five.  I need a few more parts to fix the bad leak in house two..

I put a cap on the end of the pipe.  I turned on the water.  There was another leak that sprayed all over.

Hearing Aides

A usual morning.  I made a batch of old fashion oatmeal mush.  I got it started and discovered that there was a bowl of mush in the fridge. I finished up with four bowls.  I ate one and put three bowls in the fridge.  Carol showered and put up her hair.  I watched the morning news and TV shows.  We drove to Fillmore and filled the car with gas.  We bought a few groceries and then came home for lunch.  We then drove to Cost Co in Spanish Fork.  We were a half hour early for her hearing aids.  Carol's appointment for her hearing aids was at 1:15 this afternoon.  There was not much traffic one the way up or bacl

Carol is waiting for her appointment.  I did some shopping.  I got some grapes, apple juice and bread.  

The technician did all kinds of tests.  I think that it took about an hour.    We then drove home. It was a little after six when we got home.  When I turned water to greenhouse five the water sprayed out of a half inch pipe that was cut in half, I looked in greenhouse three, greenhouse five and in the garage. I couldn't find one.

Primary Sunday

At 5:30 this morning I got up and put the roast in the slow cooker.  I then went back to bed and didn't wake up until Carol turned on the light.  I got up weighed in and then showered, said my prayers.  Richard was still in bed. I made some old fashion oatmeal mush.   After breakfast I made some tapioca pudding.  Carol took me to choir practice.  The primary did the sacrament meeting program.  There is a lot of children in primary.   There were a few children who gave talks.  All of the other children gave a short message about the Book of Mormon.  The children sang songs.

After the meeting Richard and I went to priesthood meeting and Carol went to relief society meeting.  We then went home to a good dinner.  After a good dinner and super good desert Richard went home.

I had a sweet potato for supper.

Yesterday, Dusten harvested all of the pepper plants.  All were hot except one bell pepper plant.  It had a lot of peppers.  Some were red, but most were green.  He gave those to Carol.  He had seeds for all of the plants except four.  He dug them up, trimmed the stems and the planted them in greenhouse five.  The above picture is of one of them.

Mowed Lawn

 

I got up an hour earlier than I wanted to.  It was 5:20 when I got up. I wanted to get up at 6:20.  

It was about nine when Richard came.

The Temple

 

Up early this morning.   After breakfast we got in the car and drove to Linden.   We picked up the Batty's and drove to the Timpanogos temple.  I parked the car and walked back to the temple door.  This the first time that I have driven our new car.  

We took this bucket of tomatoes.  We gave them to Carol's sister.  After a good session I walked back to the and drove it to the temple.  We drove straight home.  I had an apointment with Karen Bennet to have my hair cut.  We were home in plenty of time.

After my cut I took this selfie.  I went out to the south garden to pick zucchini and crook neck squash.  Something on a pipe brook.  I turned off the water.  It was so muddy that I went back to the garage and put on my boots.  There was one zucchini which I picked, but there wasn't and crook neck.  

Tomatoes

We are going to the Linden in the morning.  I picked a large bucket of tomatoes this afternoon. We will give them to Carol's sister, Nyleen Batty.  We will be going to the Timpanogos temple,  

I put the bucket of tomatoes in the trunk.  I also put a large box in the trunk.  The box is for the tomatoes.

Good News

I was up at my regular time this morning and turned the furnace thermostat 73 degrees.  The furnace came on and the fan was blowing warm air in minutes.  I showered. dressed, said my prayers and then shaved.  Carol washed the sheets and pillowcases.  After breakfast we watched a couple of the morning TV shows.  As soon as the sheets were dry, we made the beds.  It was nearly ten when we left Holden.  The pod, the car keys, were not working properly.  We went to Orem where the Nisson dealership was located.   It took us about an hour and a half to drive there.  We went to the service desk and gave them our pod.  A person took it in back and soon came back.  He handed the pod to Carol.  He said that the battery was upside down and that we hadn't closed it tight.  Carol tested it by pushing the open trunk button.  The trunk opened.  We then drove to Wal-Mart.  We bought some groceries and cat food.   We then went to Costco to get a refund for using the Costco credit card.  On the way home we stopped at Wendy's and bought two small hamburgers and two drinks, We ate them on the way home.

Later we drove to Fillmore and filled the car with gas.  We did some chores and so thankful that we arrived home safely, and that the car is working properly.  I forgot to take some pictures.

Sunday Rain

A day or two ago we had snow, this morning it is rain.  I fed the cats and then fixed breakfast. We watched some of the church programs on channel eleven.   I got ready for church.  Carol took me to choir practice.  I was the only man there at first.  A couple of men came a little later.  Sacrament speakers were good.  We went to the relief society room for Sunday school.  We then went home.  We had a good dinner and then watched more channel eleven programs.  We had a light supper.  We watched a stupid Halloween movie on TV that lasted for two hours.

Party or Furnace

Thursday:

 The house was cold this morning when I got up.  I turned up the thermostat to 75 and that didn't help.  I showered, dressed and said my prayers.   I worked on the fob, the key for our Nisson.  It didn't help.  I fed the cats and made old fashion oatmeal mush.  Carol showered and did her hair.  After breakfast Carol made a salad for a family activity.  Carol drove the car to Sutherland where we had lunch.  

Furnace ?

The temperature in the house this morning when I got up was 67 degrees.  I got up and showered and got dressed.  I turned on furnace and it wouldn't come on.  I put two new batteries in the thermostat, and it still didn't come on.  I went outside and turned off the power to the heat exchanger and then turned it back on.  It still didn't work.  I turned on the morning and watched some of the morning news.  L fed the cats and the made old fashion oatmeal mush.  We watched two of the morning TV shows.  Carol drove tthe new car and we went to Fillmore and bought some groceries.  This afternoon I called Andrew Brown who could fix the furnace.   No answer so I called again.  He then answered and would try to come.  He didn't.  I cancelled our Thursday temple appointment because of a forecast for rain.

The moon was really bright the evening.  Went outside and took a couple of pictures.  My hands shock so, I couldn't get a good picture. The front porch light are on,

I planted the whole potato.  I didn't think that there was going to be any sweet potatoes.  I dug one up got a nice bunch.

Here they are laying on the lawn while I washed them.  They are in a tote in the garage.

New Car

When we left Holden this morning, it was a little after eight.  Carol had an appointment with a hearing doctor. Our car was gassed up and the oil level was just right.  We drove to Provo.  We drove into the Walmart where we were to meet Lisa and Eric.  We parked at the north end of the parking lot.  About 40 minutes later they drove up behind us and parked their car.  We went to a cafeteria for lunch.  The food was really good.  We then went to the clinic; we drove past several office buildings until we found the right one.  Eric and I waited in the car.  I think we waited there for over a half hour,
