When we got home from Manti, I did the watering.
It was way to hot to work in the greenhouse. I got my heavy shovel and dug up all the puncture weeds along the street. I filled a five gallon bucket with the puncture vine. I put it on the trailer to be hauled to the dump.
I made a bunch of tube trays 4 1/2 inch shorter.
I weeded the cone-tainers. Most of the weeds spotted spurge.
The above picture is a pile of spurge and the shorten tray with the plants.
A lot of wasps. They don't like me. The are always buzzing me near my hears. I put a little honey above the garage door. Sure enough, they began to eat the honey. I got them with a fly swatter. I did this several times.
I got a picture of Freckles, our cat, showing the gash on his neck. It is nearly healed.

I write all most every day of what goes on in our home in the garden and in the nursery. We are ordinance workers at the Manti Temple on the Tuesday morning shift and the Saturday evening shift. In addition there are several trips to Utah county a couple of times a month and a few short trips to other mountain west areas. Our family is most important to us. All of our children live in Utah except one who lives in Kentucky.

Lazy Day
It was snowing a little when I got up. After breakfast I walked out to turn on the water. It has been of four a couple of days. I hasn't been cold enough to freeze. The hose bib in house five was frozen. I brought out a gallon of hot water. It took about a quart of it to get the water flowing.
After lunch I pushed the snow off the driveway and sidewalk to the front door. I used the big push broom and removed most of the snow. I also used the scoop shovel. The temperature warmed up some and the snow left on the driveway began to melt. I used the broom again for the slush. Then I did the side walk. There was four to five inches of snow.
This block of ice has been shrinking due to the above freezing temperatures during the last three weeks. Today it is growing some.
Freckles and Junior covered with snow came up to eat. I stepped out and got this picture. Junior ran away. Later Freckles went into the cat house next to the garage.
My sore thumb has scabbed up some and if I am careful I can use it some. Lazy day, I have been resting my sore thumb.

Ice When at Home
It was cold yesterday and the ice pile grew somewhat. The water run all night and most of the day when we got home this afternoon I took the following ice pictures. We were quite surprised at the interesting formations. The water looks like steam or even smoke.
Ice has frozen around the pipe. The hose is visible because of the warmer water. The spray covered a branch of a nearby tree. The weight pulled it to the ground. Branch won't get any heavier. All the picture show the same ice, but from different angles. Some are cropped differently.
Every evening around three or four, the cats show up for something to eat. When the door is opened, One of our cats, Freckles, looking through the screen door, takes a peek inside the kitchen.
