Regular Day

I slept in this morning. I weighed in, showered and said my prayers.  L didn't have time to shave.  I turned on the morning news.  After breakfast we watched the morning TV shows.  Carol made sandwiches for lunch.  During the afternoon I took the following pictures.

Carol cooked sweet corn for supper.  I took the corncobs to the hen house and found this dead hen; I took her out to the south garden where I will bury her tomorrow.  There is no indications of why it died.

I did a lot of watering.  I watered all of the rhubarb.

The wind blew off all of the poly.  This is a picture looking straight in to house three.  The poly wasn't on very good before the wind but it did keep the things dry.

Two at the same picture is impressive.  We put two cans of olive oil in the kidney to trap earwigs.

Temple & Sam's Club

 We were up early this morning and had an early breakfast, It was a little before seven when we left Holden.  Most of time we could travel 80 mph.  When we got near Provo, we could only go 70 mph.  Someone had lost a mattress and a few other things. Carol quickly swerved the side of the road and avoided what could have been a terrible accident.  We picked up Miles and Nyleen Batty and drove to the Mount Timpanogos temple.   I found a handicap parking space that was close to the temple.  After the good session we took the Batty's home.   We then stopped at Sam's Club and bought a few things.  Nyleen made a sack lunch which we ate on the way home, it was about 2:30 when we got home.  We unloaded the car and then rested a while.   I turned the water on the geraniums growing in the kidney.  Later I watered the tomato plants and the topaz melons.  I counted seventeen melons.  I then watered the summer squash.  

The zucchini plant has had male flowers for quite some time.  The female zucchini hasn't yet bloomed.  It's hard to see but it near the top and is a little right of center.

I watered the corn, but there is a section that looks pretty sick.

 Yesterday morning we were at the temple in Payson. Yesterday afternoon I was irrigating the yard and garden,   After breakfast this morning I was able to watch the morning TV shows

We were up early this morning.  After breakfast we left  Holden in a heavy rain storm.  I rained hard until we got to the Sicpio summet.  It

Rain and More Rain

The first thing after breakfast I began to dig out all of the weeds in the dahlia garden.  It was a big job.  There was milkweeds, grasses, spurge and others.  I raked them up and put them in a compost pile. Then I watered the corn.  The water master called and told me that I can take the water in the morning.  The truck wouldn't start because of a dead battery. I out the charger on for 45 minutes.  It started up.  I took my weedeater up to the ditch and cleaned the ditch.

We fed the six kittens.  I tried to get them all in the same pan but when I opened the back porch do the kittens scattered.

It started to rain and it rained some more.  This is the front sidewalk covered with water..

The rainwater is pouring off the roof,

The rain splashed mud on yellow crookneck summer squash.  Then it started to hail,  The hailstones were much larger than a pea.

The bell peppers really took a beating. 

This is the truck with the battery charger on the bumper.  The charger is hooked to the battery.    We are going to the Payson temple in the morning.  I arranged with two other water users to take the water when we get back home at noon.

Family in Delta

It was 6:23 when I got up this morning.  After breakfast we made potato salad.  Carol pealed the potatoes, and I removed the shells from the eggs. It was hard to take off the shells.  Carol cut the eggs in half, and I dug the egg out shell with a tablespoon.  That worked a whole lot better.  Most of the following pictures were taken at the family party at the Delta Park. 

A gift is held up.  Another person selects the name and Mary-ann reads it.

I got rid of the yellow jackets in the wind chimes.

A lot of honey bees on the sweet corn.  This picture scows some of them. In this picture they look black,

boiled eggs shelled for the potato salad that Carol made.
