Provo Utah Temple

After I showered and shaved I got dressed in my suit.  I took our temple close out to the car.  I ate a large bowel of Rice Checks for breakfast.  We left for Provo about 7:15.  We drove directly to the temple.  I got on ninth east and followed to the temple parking lot.  We waited in the foyer for Lisa.  She got there about 9:30.  We then dressed in our temple our white temple closes.  Carol directed Lisa to the sealing office, then Carol and I waited in the chapel for the session to start.  We had a good session.  We then went out to the front of them temple where Lisa took some picture.

We went to lunch at a oriental restaurant which was  good.

I asked the busser to take the above photo.  The food was good, but hard to chew because I am missing so many teeth.  We stopped at the Red Barn for Ice cream.  I got Carol a soft vanilla cone and I got me a cone with peaches and cream  It really tasted good. 

I picked up the mail and got the Tomato Growers Catalog.  It is one of my favorite ones. 

We squeezed lemons a couple of days ago and put them in the ice trays.  This evening we put the cubes in a zip freeze bag.

Viking Stool and Trashing

This morning I cut the seat of the stool out of the wood that I glued together yesterday.  I made a pattern out of a piece of cardboard.   It was half of the stool.  I traced it on one side and turned the pattern over and traced the other side.  I rough cut the wood away and used my belt sander to make the sides fairly smooth.

I carved the seat and tried to make it a little concave.  I used a 'U' shaved draw knife.  I ended up with what is in the photo below.

Drilling the holes or sockets for the leg was somewhat challenging.  The one at the back was drilled from the top with a slight angle to the back.  I did this one using the drill press, but the range was not far enough to go all the way through.  I finished my cordless drill.  The two side ones were hard to have the same angle on both of the.  I used a 1 3/4 spade bit.  I won't know until I put the legs in to determine if they have the same angle.  When I make the next one I will drill the hole with 1/2 inch bit.  I can control the angle with and an adjustable angle copier.  Then the spade bit will follow the hole.

I need to make three legs.  The sockets for the legs are 1 3/4 inches in diameter.  I couldn't find any stock that were wide enough for the legs.  I cut five pieces nineteen inches long from one 2x4 that had minimal knots.  I ripe the pieces and ended up with five boards that were two inches wide.  I then trimmed both sides and glued them together.  The picture below is fuzzy.  From this piece I can cut three legs.

Late this afternoon I emptied a big box of stuff/junk that we brought from American Fork nearly twenty years ago.  There were things that belong to Robert that he had on his mission.  There were pieces of glass that were left over from his leaded glass projects when he was in American fork.  There were some things that come from Lisa's mission.  Elizabeth had some band evaluation papers, I think.  There were a lot of old papers that I used in teaching.  There were also papers that delt with bills that I paid.  There were also bank statements from my dad.  He banked in Delta, Nephi, and Salina.

Carol has been freezing lemon juice at two trays this morning and two trays tonight.  She is finished.  One zip bag full and another zip bag half full.  In the freezer to be use throughout the year.

To Provo and Back in Less Than Five Hours

We had planned on driving to Provo yesterday, but Carol did not feel well.  This morning a little after eight we drove to Provo.  We stopped at Walmart and then at Sam's Club.  We got a few things to eat and the rest were cat food and soaps, etc.   We stopped at the Red Barn for ice cream.   We were home at 12:30.

Last Thursday we were in North Las Vegas where we picked lemons at Anne and Fred's backyard.  As soon as we got home we began to juice the lemons.  it took over and hour to do that.  There was a good three quarts of lemon juice.  Below is a peak into the fridge.

 There is an old board, 2x4 about seven feet long.  I brought it into the garage and pulled out some of the nails.  I don't know where it came from, but from the picture one can see that is old.  On Pinterest I found a three legged stool called a Viking Stool.  I am going to make one from the old board.  I cut five pieces sixteen inches long.  I then ripped off bad edges.  I glued them together for the seat..  In the morning I will begin to shape it.  I also removed the clamps late this evening.

While the glue is setting, I started the weed whip and cut down the weeds in the iris garden.  Hope to have it tilled next week.

Carol put some of the lemon juice into freezer trays.  Late this evening she removed the lemon cubes and put them in a zip bag.  Then she filled the two trays again.  They are in the freezer and will be removed in the morning.  There is not enough room in the freezer for all of the trays.  That's why it is done two trays at a time.
