Richard Gone Again

Soon after I got up, Richard  was up.  He took his medication, went back to his room, and left to go hunting coyotes.  He was carrying a large backpack.  Carol was up a little later.  After breakfast we watched the swearing in the vice president and a few minutes later the swearing in president Joe Biden.  That lasted until ten.  Carol had an appointment with Dr. Grose at eleven.  We were there before our appointment time by over thirty minutes.  Carol told him the health issues that she has.

When we finished I asked Dr. Grose to take this picture.  We then went to the drug store to get a salve that might help her legs.  We then went home.
After lunch I planted a tray of beets, a tray of radishes, and a tray of chards.
I took the photo for a record of what I planted.

I went to the post office the second time to pick up a package that wouldn't fit in the box.  It was a bag of medication.  I am taking pictures everyday when there is a change in the construction.  I may have to go inside.

This is a photo of Quinten with the birthday presents that we gave him.  We were several days late.
I talked to Richard this evening.  He met a friend in St. George to hunt coyotes.  his car broke down.  He ended up in at a garage in Huntington, Utah.  All of the parts will be there in the morning.  He should be home by tomorrow  evening.

More Snow and More Planting

It was snowing lightly when we got up this morning.  After breakfast we started doing one of the things that I don't enjoy.  That is boxing up all of our indoor Christmas decorations.  We started with the nativity scene.  I unloaded the closet that has all the empty boxes.  We will fill them with the inhouse decorations.

I worked on putting each piece of the nativity scene back into the Styrofoam containers.  After nearly three hours I still couldn't get all the pieces in.  Carol was going to the post office.  I wanted to push the snow of the driveway before she backed out the car.  When I got back in the house.  She had put the piece in.  It was kind of like putting a three dimensional puzzle.  I had it upside down.  She put the right side up and it fit perfectly.
We then put the nutcrackers away and put the pictures and knickknacks back in their usual places.  It took three boxes.  The above photo shows the TV and the items on top of it.
I caught the mouse that has been eating the corn seeds.
I reset the trap in case there is another mouse around.
I planted leek seeds in the 1206 tray.  One in each cell.  I used a small spoon, picked up one leek seed, and put it in each cell.  I covered each seed with vermiculite.
I set the trap for the photo.  I later planted the seeds.
The corn seeds were put in three six packs.  Above the six packs is a 1206 tray holding 72 leek seedlings.
I planted one row of radishes, and two rows of Detroit red beets.   It takes about two weeks for the beets to germinated and one week for the radishes to germinate.

I cleaned the snow off the front sidewalk.

Cold Day, But Warm Inside

The Gambel Oak acorns are now in the fridge.  I am waiting for the germination.
I built this drawer for my Kreg tools, screws and clamps.  These tools were not used to build it.  It worked out pretty good, but far from being beautiful.  It is made out of recycled wood and the bottom out of Masonite.
I bought a bunch of drawer pulls from a hardware company when the went out of business.
I found this squash bug in greenhouse two which is heated.  No squash vines any where in house two.  I squashed it.
We dried onions yesterday.  Carol took them out of the dryer this morning.
Planted radishes in the raised bed.

I did some of cleaning in house four. I found some things in there that I forgot that I had them.
