Much Bench Progress

Another good day at the temple.  We had lunch before we went home.  On the way home we got gas and soft ice cream cone.  We were home by one.  I cleaned up the bench leg that I finished yesterday.

The large electric motor was on a small cart that had four casters.  I need three of them for the other three bench legs.  I put the motor on my cart with the small one and took it over to Richard Darnel.  I thought that he would come over and take a look at it.  He didn't come so I took it to him. His truck was there.  I left them.  I will call him and if he doesn't want them, I will give them to Robert.

I cut three caster blanks to receive the castors.  The slot to hold the blanks  were not the same size even as I tried hard to make them the same.   I remove some of the wood from the slot a rasp.  The piece fit perfectly.  I glued it in place.  I did the other two and both needed some shims.

I drilled a hole in the wood and screw in the caster.   They are finished.  I might be able to finish the bench tomorrow.

He is a piece that does not fit very well.   I glued one side and then glued some small shims into place.

I held to the piece with clamps so it would not spin.

I loaded up some stuff out of house two.  They are on the cart headed for the shed tomorrow.

About One Half Inch of Snow

Light powder snow fell most of the day.  While it was snowing I worked on the new workbench, or I should say I began to rebuild my workbench.  It is made out of a heavy door.  Presently it is setting on a pair of sawhorses.  I started the design work yesterday.  Several new ideas came to me during the night and changed the design while I was building it.  I didn't get any pictures.

Around lunch time it had stopped snowing .  I cleaned off the snow on the driveway and sidewalk.  It had melted some.  I used the old snow shovel.

After lunch I continued on the work bench.  I made two rails witch each was built with two sixty-five inch 2x4's.  It was quite dark in the garage so I didn't take any pictures.

I drove to Fillmore for a couple of items.  There was no snow on the road, but they were wet.  I have a bunch of caster wheels that I wanted to put on the four legs so I could move the bench if needed.  There wood screw inserts to put in the legs and then the caster will screw in to it.  None fit.  I designed a way to do it.  I need a different size bit.

Clean Garage & House Two

The tub facet is partially plugged with calcium salts.  When the water is turned on, some comes out the shower which is not wanted when have a bath.  With a large pipe wrench, I took off the corroded one and drove to Fillmore and stopped at Ropers for a new facet.

I screwed on the new facet as far as I could without a wrench.   I then wrapped it with duck tape.  I did not want to scratch the facet.  I was able to get it quite tight.  I pulled off the tape.

I removed most of the trays and dead plant that were on the heating bench to make room for the more trays of plants that had germinated and didn't need the heat anymore.

I watered the strawberry plants that were in house six.  This is the first time that I have watered them since bringing them inside over a month ago.

The was so much junk on my workbench in the garage that I could not use it as a place to work.  Many of the things there I put away.  If needed they are in my large tool box.

The top of the table saw was covered with more stuff.  a lot of scraps of wood.  There is a box for the wood under the left side of the saw.
