Laptop Personality

 This morning I was up pretty early, like five.  Carol was going to the temple and she woke up a little before my alarm went off.  She got ready for the temple and soon left.  I didn't go back to bed, but read from the book of Ether in the Book of Mormon.  I was able to post it on Face Book for the first time in nearly three weeks.     I did a lot of weeding and discovered that some deer have been in the garden.

The first casualty is the sweet potato vines.  The or it ate off the leaves at the bottom of the picture.

A deer walked across the carrot bed.  A big print on the left and a smaller print on the right.

The puncture vines were all over on the north side of the garden.  

I put fertilizer on the front lawn and the east lawn.   I turned on the water at six this evening and it is still running

I put the puncture weed in the black nursery can and then put it in the garbage.  

I picked a small bucket of apricots.  Our tree is loaded.

Ann Belhausen, Mike and Cathy Madsen and their daughter stopped on their way to Las Vegas.  I showed them around.  I got this selfie.  Cathy took the picture with my phone._  _

Shane England was here.  He paid the rent.  I asked him about a chain that I couldn't find.  He told me where to look and I found it.

I cut away the dead stems of the purple salvia.  It was crowding out some of the geraniums.  I also, pulled and dug the weeds that were in the kidney.

Lisa Gray, our daughter, is visiting.  She is staying the night with us.  She prepared supper.  In other place they call it dinner.

Catching Up

Lunch time.  I was working in the garden.  When I came back to the house, she had shredded carrots, celery and cheese.  She cut up radishes and tomatoes.  I put them together for a salad with salad dressing.

The Agave parryi will soon have seeds on the bottom stems.

I planted seeds from a topaz melon a few days ago.  They germinated today.  I meet a man at the Fillmore Market while shopping who got some seeds from us several years ago.  He planted three hills and they now have flowers.

I pruned and weed the Delicious tomato plants.  They have blooms and starting to form tomatoes.

Sunday night, we went to the Harmons for refreshment.  There was a large group of people.there.

Someone brought a cake that looked like the flag of the USA.   It was very good.  Also there was homemade ice cream that was good, but not as good as the ice cream that Carol makes.

I planted six hills zucchini with three seeds in each hill.

I put to handfuls of horse pellets in each hole.

I mowed the lawn Saturday afternoon.  The above photo is of the east lawn.

I unloaded the bags three times.

The young men and young women put out the flags Saturday morning.

Patio Clean-up

 

Carol asked me several times to clean the patio.  I did it the afternoon.  The patio was terrible dirty with leaves and the stuff that fell from the tree to the south.  There was a lot of stuff that went to the shed or into the garage greenhouse.  One sixteen foot 2x4 was laying on some cement blocks.  I put it in the garage under the car.  I moved the patio furniture on to the lawn. I put some other boards outside on the west side of the garage.   I blew most of the junk off the patio.  I swept it and blew of more junk.  I put the furniture back on the patio and got the cushions that were under the house inside of large black garbage bags.  I put them on the chairs.  There were tables that I took back to greenhouse five.  

Weeks of No Lap Top Computer

My laptop computer broke down.  I took it to Fillmore to have it fixed.  I wanted a new laptop which would cost about $550.00.  The next day I called Dan and told him to fix the old one.  It needed a new battery and a few other things.  He ordered them.

The grass was pretty tall so I mowed it.  I was to have a water turn the next morning.

I took a picture of the dandelion type plant whose seeds blow all over in the wind.

The next afternoon it rained for nearly two hours in the late afternoon.  Water was running everywhere.  It ran down the road to the west.  Across our driveway and in front of our neighbor's house.

The ditch was full of leaves and stems and plugged up the pipe.  I opened the gate to let the water un down the ditch.  I found the plug and ot some pruners and eventually pulled out the sticks and leaves.  The water run into our neighbors yard.  I put the cap back on the pipe.  The back up to the ditch and got the water running into our yard.  I watered the east lawn first and then the west lawn and the back and front lawns.

All of the rain cause the bark to split off the dead maple tree.

The chickens got out and enjoyed getting bugs and tiny grasshoppers.

This is a super good drought tolerant plant.

The Pole beans are really climbing each other.  The rain beat them down also.  I unwound them and got the going on their own.

I used the tomato clips to get them started on the taillis.
