Timer is Hooked Up

I usually don't wake up at my regular time at 5:15, but this morning I did.  I don't like getting out of my warm bed.  I had plenty of time to read from the Book of Mormon and post a comment on Face Book.  After breakfast I hooked up the timer clock to turn on and off the grow lights.

I took the garbage to the dump.  In one of the dumpsters there was a bucket that held taping compound.  I brought it home and removed the lid.  I filled it with water and used my shovel to remove the compound that was stuck on the inside wall of the bucket.

I found a brush which worked a lot better than the shovel.  I can always use buckets.  I did some more writing about the Black Locust tree at Cove Fort.

I have been working on a small foot stool.  I set the legs on the table saw and clamped them together to apply some Elmer's glue.  I broke the connection of the end glue to the side glue.  I drilled holes drove a screw through the wood.  I didn't drill it straight and when I drove in the screw, it split the wood.  I did it again and split the wood again.  I got it right the third time.  That it is why there are three holes. The screw is in the middle hole.  I hope to finish it tomorrow.

Planted Celebrity Tomato Seeds

Scripture read and posted.  Breakfast is over.  I got my Celebrity seeds and went out to house five.  I found some good potting soil that was left over from the hemp plantings.  

I filled three six packs with the potting soil and let it set in this frying pan filled with water.  I come back later and pressed the soil down in each cell.  I then put a seed in the center of each cell.  The seeds are barely visible.

I covered each seed with a half teaspoon of potting soil and pressed down the soil in each cell down.

The three six packs are on the heating pad just above some of the geranium seedlings.

This evening, I installed two LED lights.  They are hooked to the two hoops with tie wire.  A half in conduit pipe holds the LED lights from turning.

To keep the wire from sliding down the pipe, I drove two self-tapping screws into the pipes.

The last thing was gluing two short firing strips together to make the rail.  I will finish the short stool tomorrow.

Put Nativity Away

After breakfast this morning, I began to write about the Cove Fort black locust trees.  I wrote for an hour.  I mentioned everything that I could think of.  I saved it on Open Office.  I will add to it as time goes by. 

After lunch I took down the nativity that was on our front lawn.  Some of the snow had melted and was really soft.  I cut the masking tape that was holding Joseph to a half inch conduit pipe.  I carried it to the shed.  I went back and got Mary and the Baby Jesus and carried them back to the shed.  The above photo shows them in the shed.

This is the stool that is two feet tall.  It was three feet tall, but I cut it down to, two feet.  I am using the pieces that I cut off to make a stool that is one foot tall.

The photo above is the result of gluing the legs two the rail.  the rail is made out off to short pieces of firing strips.  I put glue on the end piece and then the legs.  The clamp is holding it together until the glue sets.  I will take the clamps off in the morning.  While I was doing this, I was hauling more potting soil in house five to the pile south of house six.

I came back to the house and Carol told me to go to the dentist office.  I was thinking that it was tomorrow.  I called the office.  They said it is now.  I hurried over where I waited for nearly a half hour before the dentist came in.  The dental assistant took a couple of x-rays.  He used a super glue to hold the broken tooth in place.

Move More Potting Soil

I slept in some because I got to bed pretty late.  In spite of this, I was able to read from the Book of Mormon and post some comments.  I fed the cats and turned on the news by seven.  Carol was up a little later.

After breakfast I worked some more on the tall stool that I have been building.  I glued up a pair of legs Saturday.  Now, I have to glue the pairs together.    After I clamped all of on top of the table saw and clamped it to the fence.  The legs were out of plum by one half inch.  I sanded the two skirts at a slight angle.  That made them into nearly plum.    I glued the end grain to the side grain legs.  I will attach them to the seat tomorrow.

The above photo shows them in more detail.  I put a small speed square in the center, showing that it is pretty square.   There are a lot of florsett light in house five.  I considering useing them for more light for the geraniums.

The geraniums in house five are looking good but need more light.  There are a lot of LED lights in house three that I may use.

The lights need to be on about eighteen hours a day.  I got the clock out of the hen house and the power strip that was on the front porch.

This time is to control the temperature of the heating pads.

I have water running in houses two, four and six.  The above photo shows the ice in house six.

Our cat, Midnight, has been with me most of the afternoon.  Here he is sitting on a tree stump.  She then was with me in house five.

I dumped more soil one the pile south of house six.

I dug out the soil out of the root control bags and put it in two five gallon buckets.  I the carried to the pile south of house six.  We are out of cat food.  We got some and some groceries.  We then came home.

Carol has been putting a puzzle together for several days.  She finished this afternoon.

Fast Sunday

I was up this morning at five.  I put the meat in a slow cooker.  I salted and peppered both sides and put it in the cooker.  I then went back to bed and got back up at 6:30.   I read from the Book of Mormon and posted a comment on Face Book.   No eating this morning because it is fast Sunday.  We did prepare our Sunday dinner of baked potatoes and a baked sweet potato.  They were wrapped in foil and put in the oven.  We watched Tyler and Tayler on You Tube.  We then put on our Sunday clothes.  

Testimony and Sunday school went well.  The battery for the remote mike went dead.  I had two batteries in my pocket.  I changed the battery and the Sunday school lesson continued.  We came home for dinner which was soon ready.  

My sister, Annalee, called me and wished me a happy birthday.  I walked out to house five.  The furnace had been on, and the temperature was 40 degrees.  I turned on the fan. We had a little supper and spent the rest of the evening watching TV.

Birthday Wishes

We slept in this morning because we stayed up until the year 2022 arrived.  Our neighbors were doing fireworks.  After breakfast we cleaned Carol's bedroom.  There were a lot of empty gift bags and pieces of wrapping paper, and some ugly bows.  When finished we filled a large black garbage bag.

We watched the Rose Bowl parade.  And answered the phone of family members wishing me a happy birthday.

Carol finished her puzzle last night.  There was piece left over.  After closer examination, it was a duplicate piece.  Most likely, someone got a puzzle with a missing piece in it.  I watch a football game this afternoon and listen to the university of Utah this evening.  They lost.  A friend of mine cleaned about one inch of snow off our driveway.
