Flowers

The first thing this morning was to go to the Fillmore Market to get chrysanthemum.  We walked out to the garage, there was a lot of garbage that needed to go to the dump.  We went to the dump and the to Fillmore.

I ran water on the kidney flowers.  A sprinkler on the front side and again on the back side.
There was a wide row in the south garden.   I planted peaches and cream sweet corn on each side of the  row.  I dug holes on the south side of the row. I came back and put four seed in each hole.  I covered the hole with a little soil and firmed the soil around.  I then dug holes on the south side of the row.  I repeated the process.
I tuned the water on and let it run down the row.  I ran there for over an hour,  The were a few hills of seed at the end of the row that did not get watered.
I made eighteen wire hooks for Memorial Day, one end is pushed into the ground and the hook on the other end would hook on top the pot of pot flowers.
The sixteen pots of chrysanthemum are sitting on the kitchen table.   After supper we watched TV programing until we went to bed.

Mowing Time

After breakfast I decided to mow the lawn.  I moved all of the hoses and other things that would interfere with mowing. I checked the oil in the lawn mower. It was good. The tire pressure also was good.  I started mowing the front lawn.  The grass was really tall.  I went up and down a couple of times.  Carol opened the back door wondered about the peas.  I stopped mowing and began picking peas.  By this time it was pretty hot in house five where the peas were growing.  I took the tote and filled it nearly half full and gave it to Carol.  She began shelling peas and I went back to mowing.  It didn't take long to fill the catcher with grass.

I dumped the bags in the garden.
The grass on the back lawn was really tall.  I started mowing on the north side of the lawn. If I mowed slowly, the mower did a good job.  The grass on the south side of the backyard was a little taller and was a little wetter.  The lawn mower shoot plugged up several times.  The blade was set at three inches. I raised it to the maximin height which was three- and one-half inches.  I finished cutting and then lowered the blade too three inches.  I mowed that part again.
The grass on the east lawn was not very tall.  It was much easier to mow than the front and back lawns.

The front lawn was tall and if I went slow, the mower did a good job.
There were two hanging baskets left over from last year. I dumped the old soil.  I may use them again.  Later I watered the tomato plants and cut a lot of weeds in the northwest corner of the north garden.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Sunday

I was 9:30 when Carol took me to choir practice. She went home and went to church a little later.  Since I was still in the relief society room for choir practice, our friends in the chapel thought that I was sick. They asked how I was doing.  Sunday school went well.  The teacher was well prepared.  We came home and had a good Sunday dinner.  We watched the channel eleven Sunday programing for most of the day.  I watered plants in the front yard.  I also watered the plants in house five.  I gave the chickens in house six drinking water.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Tomato & Corn Plants

I usually watch a couple of channel 44 programs right after breakfast.  But this morning I planted the corn plants.  There is a spot in the south garden where I planted corn last year, I watered it several times getting ready for transplanting of the peaches and cream sweet corn.

Irrigation Again

I got up early this morning, and I mean way early.  I weighed in posted my weight on my Blog.  I showered said by prayers, and then shaved.  I thought that it was around six, but it was about 5:15.  I read the next chapter in the Book of Mormon. I watched two of the morning TV shows.  I picked up the mail.   As soon as I got home, Tony Deardon stopped by and told me that I could get the water in a couple of hours, I was outside watering some of the plants in the front yard. A car drove up.  It was Duston Smith and his friend.   They wanted some drip tape.  They unrolled a couple of hundred yard of it.  Dusten wound it around a short board.  They also said they would be back to get all of their materials in house three.  They helped me get the long watering pipes out.  I cleaned the ditch with the weed eater. I raked out all of the weeds.  I little later Tony told me that he would turn the water to me. I told him that I would do it.  I could get most of the weeds out of the ditch before they went into the pipe.  I drove back to the house.  I forgot to remove the pipe cap.  I was able to unscrew it and all of the weeds came out,   I drove back and forth and finally got the water running where I wanted it to run.  I watered the lawn west of the garage.  I watered most of the back yard.  I moved pipes and was able to water most of the front yard.  I turned the water down to Ann Stephenson.

I picked some rhubarb for Carol.  She was going to make a rhubarb pudding.  I got it too late.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Work All Day

It was a little after five thirty when I got up this morning.  I wanted to get up early so I could read from the Book of Mormon.  I weighted, showered, dressed, said my prayers, and shaved.  I read the next chapter from the Book of Mormon.  I wasn't able to post the link on face book.  I started making the old-fashion oatmeal mush.  I fed the cats.  Carol was up and she started the washing machine.  I didn't need to make any mush.  There was a cold bowel of mush in the fridge.  That is the one that I ate.  My laptop computer was giving me some problems.  After breakfast I checked greenhouse six to see if the plants there were getting watered.  They weren't.  I tried several times to make the water to fill the drip tape.  I was unable to do it.  We drove to Fillmore.  We stopped at the computer shop.  Dan Speakman couldn't find anything wrong with it.  We then went into the market and bought a few groceries.  We stopped at the post office for the mail.  This afternoon I picked the peas.  Carol shelled them.

Carol planted the two tubs with flowers. I put them on the front porch where I watered them.
I took the weed eater out
