As soon as breakfast was over, I picked cucumbers, crookneck squash, and zucchini.
I write all most every day of what goes on in our home in the garden and in the nursery. We are ordinance workers at the Manti Temple on the Tuesday morning shift and the Saturday evening shift. In addition there are several trips to Utah county a couple of times a month and a few short trips to other mountain west areas. Our family is most important to us. All of our children live in Utah except one who lives in Kentucky.
It was a little late when I got up, but I did shower, said my prayers and read a chapter out of the Book of Mormon. I then fed the cats and fixed breakfast. I worked in the garden until it was time to watch Mattlock on channel 44. When the show was over, I picked up the mail. I went home and got my computer and cables. I took it to Dan Speakman to have him fix it. He worked on it for about an hour. He put some of the photos in a folder with the name 2023. Then a sub folder named September. All I needed to find a photo was to look in the September folder. I then could post it on Face Book, after lunch I tried to load my picture in the September folder, but I could not find the folder.
There were a few potato plants that needed to be dug. I watered them and later I dug a lot of potatoes.I picked several bunches of purple seedless grapes; they are quite sweet. I worked on it for an hour or so after lunch. I watered all of the plants in the garden.
I took a round piece of bread to the chickens in house six.Carol fried shredded potato and slice crookneck summer squash. We watched TV until we went to bed.
This morning I finished deleting photos on my phone at I started yesterday. I did not delete photos of family and friends and a few others. I have photos to post, but I can't find them.
I was up fairly early this morning. It was quite dark when we got up. We were out of oatmeal mush, The first thing that I did after I got dressed was to make the old fashion oatmeal mush. I then fed the cats. The days are getting shorter. I prepared breakfast. Later we left Holden for American Fork. The drive was uneventful. We arrived at the home of Miles and Nyleen Batty. We then drove to the Mount Timpanogos. I parked the car. We had a good session. We took Miles and Nyleen home. Nyleen made a sack lunch for us. We got a bunch of groceries at Sam's Club. One the way home we ate the lunch. We drove through Nephi to avoid the I-15 traffic. It was about three when we got home. We watched TV until we went to bed. Carol worked on her puzzle.
I woke up about every hour last night. I got up at six, showered, and shaved. I read a short chapter from the Book of Mormon and posted it on Face Book. I fed the cats and started breakfast. I turned on the 7 O'clock news. It was almost seven thirty when Carol got up. We ate breakfast. I watered all of the plants in the Garden. I watered the hanging baskets on the front porch and the plants on the steps. I watched the Matlock show on TV. I then went to the post office and picked up the mail. The state road department was putting down new asphalt on three or four blocks on main street. Some of our neighbors were burning weeds in the ditch and in the front yard. I turned on the water on and oak tree north of greenhouse three.
I took picture of a large desert 4'O clock plant north of greenhouse two.
We were up early this morning and put on my suit. We wanted to leave for the Payson, Utah Temple this morning about 7:15. I started cooking old-fashion oatmeal mush. I then fed the cats. I prepared breakfast. Carol got toast and egg. I ate my mush, but I didn't have time to fix my egg. We then left for the temple. The trafic was not bad and we made good progress, There wasn't and handicap parking on the north side of the temple. We found one close to the temple doors on the south side. Inside the temple we went to the dressing rooms. We then met at the sealing roms on the top floor.
Saturday
Robert brought some tomatoes when he was here Friday. Carol washed the and put them on the counter. They were there all night. After breakfast we began to prepare them for Carol's V8 juice. She removed the stems and other blemishes and put them in a kettle where I mashed them, and they were cooked for over an hour.
The juice, onions, parsley, pepper were all put in the pot.The bottled juice was processed for fifty minutes. I worked at the computer in my bedroom for over an hour and finally printed some labels. Carol put them on the quart jars.Sunday
We watched TV until we went to bed.
After breakfast I was watching a 9:00 TV show. It was almost over when Robert came. I watched the show to the end and then went out to the greenhouses to help him.
He was stringing plastic water pipes so we could water all of the plants in house six. All of the water pipes were hooked up to a timer which would turn the water on for a couple of hours and then shut off. It would come on every day. In the above photo Robert is pulling weeds that were growing around the fig shrubs. We were up early this morning to have our breakfast, feed the cats and go to the Timpanogos Temple. It was 7:30 when we left Holden. We were able go all the way to American Fork. We picked up Miles and Nyleen Batty and drove to the Temple. Carol, Nyleen, and |Miles went to the Timpanogos temple. I parked the car in the church parking lot about a block away. Miles and I put on our white temple close. We met Nyleen and Carol in the chapel. We then went into the session room. There was a restroom near the session room. I stopped in and then went to the session room. Miles didn't see me go into the restroom. He started looking for me and then they closed the door. We didn't see him again until the session was over. I put on my street clothes and then got the car. We took Miles and Nyleen back home. Nyleen had a sack lunch for us.
We had planned to stop a Sam's Club. It was getting late. We got gas at Costco's and then drove straight home. The traffic was bumper to bumper as we got closer to Nephi. The above photo shows the traffic almost stopped.
