Orem Utah Temple

We left for Linden this morning.  It was about 9:30 when we walked out the door.  No mail at the post office.  Our first stop was at Wal Mart.  We bought a couple of things there.  Sam's Club was our next stop.  We bought a lot of things there.  We went to Home Depot where I got a new Ryobi cordless nail driver.  We then drove to Linden to see Nyleen and Miles Batty.  Miles gave me a haircut.  We went to the home of Carol's brother, Gary Peay. and we were there for a long time.  We talked and talked.  He spoke of some of his experiences. We haven't seen him for quite a long time.  Instead of getting on the freeway, we drove south on the Geneva Road.  There are thousands of new apartments and condo mediums.   We drove into the construction site of the Orem, Utah temple.

I took this picture through the windshield of our car. The sky to the east super blue and clear.  On the right there is a white truck cleaning the road.  The dust behind it obscures most of the mountain.  The photo shows the location of Angle Morni.  There is a white building behind the orange truck which the missionary training center.

We got gas at Costco. It was a good, but unusual experience.  We didn't have to wait to get to a pump.  We just drove in, stopped, and I filled the car with gas.  We went into Costco and got apple juice and a jar of chocolate raisons.  We then drove the rest of the way home without any more stops.  It is Elizabeth's birthday today.  I called on the way home and left a message.  When we got home, she called us.

Provo Temple

As soon as breakfast was over, I walked out to house five.  I went around to the east door.  It was cold outside and also cold inside of house five.  The thermostat was at forty-five.  Everything inside looked good.

We got dressed in our Sunday best and drove to the Provo Temple.  We had a hard time finding it.  We drove through the BYU campus.  Finally we got on 9th east and then drove right to the temple.  We parked in a handicapped spot which was as short walk to the temple.

We were there to do sealings.  We had an enjoyable time with the sealer and other patrons.

Before we left,  I took the picture of the Provo Temple.
We drove to the home of Miles and Nyleen Batty to deliver the basket of potatoes and a couple of sweet potatoes.

Miles also cut my hair.  One the way home we stopped at Sam's Club for dry cat food and other items.  We then drove to the Payson Wal Mart where we bought some candy.  When we got home, it was a little after four.  Carol fixed us tomato sandwiches.  We then had some ice cream.

The our plants in house five looked good.  I gave them a little more water.   I took a chair out to the garden so I could sit while removing the twin and tomato clips from the tomato plants.

Shopping in Utah County

There were deer on the back lawn.  I hurried out to scare them away.  They took off running and jumped over the fence into Raymond's backyard.  They went so fast I couldn't count them.  But it looked like there was a dozen.  We had breakfast.  I looked for any deer damage to the plants.  I couldn't see any, but there were tracks all over and some poop in the yard.  I picked cucumbers.  We gave some to Ann next door and took the rest to Nyleen.

We headed for Utah County.  Our first stop was Walmart,  Next stop was Sam's Club.  We then went to home depot where I wanted to get a strap tightener.  I couldn't find one but did find some casters.  I bought four for the radial arm saw stand.  The it was off to Linden.  I got a hair cut.  I asked Miles for a short cut.  He kept cutting.  I was in the chair for over forty-five minutes. We were there for about an hour.

On the way home we got gas at Costco.  We have been out of a chocolate mix.  We got two large containers of it.  We were home at three.  We had a late lunch.

Visiters and a Haircut

After breakfast and a little TV news I started to clean out  the garage.  There were tools everywhere, woodchips and saw dust on the floor.  I began to put the tools away and clean.  I blew sawdust off the tools, benches and other places with shop vacuum.  Beneath the top of the table saw, there is a large space for the motor and where sawdust accumulates.   I cleaned all of it out.  I put the sawdust in a large trash can it was nearly half full.

I used the shop vacuum to suck out the rest of the sawdust.  I backed the car out of the garage and with the large blower I blew it out of the garage.   While doing this Carol said the Miles and Nyleen will be here any minute now.   She went into the house and a few minutes later they drove up the driveway.
We visited for a little while.  Miles went out to the car and got the clippers and cut my hair.  My hair was quite long.
It was a little after one when we drove to Carl's Jr. in Fillmore for lunch.  I had chicken nuggets, some fries, and a diet Coke.  I tried a selfie, above, but couldn't get the four of us in the same picture.
So I just took a picture of Nyleen and miles when they weren't looking.
Following are two photos of the statue.   Carol's brothers and sisters bought this sculpture for us.
I posted the two photos and wrote the following on Face Book:  "We thank you for your love and prayers at the death of our son, Eric Leslie Johnson.  The Plan of Salvation gives us much comfort. The statue, "Behold Your Little Ones, will remind us of the good person that he was."

Provo, Lindon, and Home

We drove to Provo this morning.  Carol had an appointment at the Utah Valley hospital for her annual mammogram.  The hospital has being remodeled for about four years.  It is pretty well finished now. We quickly found a place to park and then walked in.  We talked to a man at the desk near the north door.  He didn't know where the location of imagining center. He directed us to the main information center.  The woman there led through a series of halls that changed directions and pointed to a sign that said "mammogram."  We went to the door and it was locked.  We waited around some wondering what to do next.  Some one with a key opened the door for us.  Told us to wait and came back with a lady who led us to them mammogram center.  It turned out that Carol had the wrong date.  A couple of weeks ago someone called her with the appointment date and time. Carol got the time right, but date was  not clear and she got it wrong.

We went to the Murdock Motors to have our car serviced.  They had it ready in about twenty-five minutes.  From there went Nyleen and Miles place. We then wet to Costa Vida for lunch.  We all ordered the same thing except Nyleen who ordered a salad.
I had a waitress take the picture. Mile, Merrill, Carol, and Nyleen. There was way to much food and I was completely stuffed.

After lunch Miles gave me a hair cut.  We stopped Gay Peay's house, Carol's brother, and had a nice visit.  Out last stop was at Home Depot where I wanted to get a Miter leveler for my table saw.  I couldn't find one.  We then drove straight home.

Quick Trip to Orem

O'leah Peay, Carol's sister -in-law, Gary's wife, is in the Orem hospital.  She had a stroke and is loosing blood.  She seemed to recognize us when we talked to her.  They hope that she can leave the hospital soon and go to a rehabilitation unit, where they can get her on her feet walking again.
The rain was really heavy between Santaquin and Provo.

After our visit with Gary and Oleah, we stopped at the hone of Nyleen and Miles.  After a short visit we went to a Chinese Buffet for lunch.  The food was good, but not many people eating.
We finished eating and drove back to Nyleen and Miles place.  There Miles cut my hair.  A lot of ideas are exchanged at the barber shop and was not different here.  Miles is on the left and I am on the right with the short hair.
I wanted a picture of Carol and Nyleen.  Nyleen is on the left and Carol on the right.

We stopped at Sam's Club and got a few things and bought gas.  We then stopped at the Red Barn where we each got an ice cream cone.  We drove home on the old highway and got on I-15 at the north Nephi exit.

As soon as we got home and unloaded the car I checked with the baby chicks.  All their feed was gone.  I filled it up and an hour or so later I gave them new water.

Haircut

We drove to Utah county for some shopping and to get a pressure regulator.  We stopped at several places on our way.   Carol put new dressing on my thumb.  It is feeling better.
We met Lisa, Eric, and Allie at the Chinese Buffet.  I had plenty to eat.  The photo above shows Carol, Me, Allie, Eric, and Lisa.  We had a nice lunch and visit.
It is Carol's birthday Sunday and lunch was part of her birthday.   Lisa and Eric brought her a couple of nice blouses and the above picture of Jesus Christ holding child on her lap.  It is made by a well established artist.
We stopped at Carol's sister, Nyleen and her husband Miles.  He is my barber and when in the chair I got the above selfie.
After the hair cut Carol to the above picture.  Miles is on the left with me on the right.  We then came home.  As always, we stopped at the Red Barn for ice cream.  We also bought some apples and a jar of home made peanut butter.  It didn't taste very good

I bought a pressure regulator for the compressor.  I put on as soon as I got home.  It didn't work.  I discovered that I put in on with the air flow going the wronge way. I took it off and reversed it.  It seemed to work okay for about 20 seconds and then shut down.  I had to turn it off and on numerous time to build up the pressure.  Then it wouldn't work at all.  There seems to be wrong with the switch.  It is going to snow tomorrow and I want to use the tractor to remove the snow from our driveway.
