Mowed Lawn

I watered the geraniums in the three beds the first thing this morning.  I had the water on for 30 minutes.  Robert called and said that he would be here around 10:30.  He and Jeanne would thin the the apples and then spray for apple worms.    He also sprayed the Blue Lake Pole beans, some of the potatoes, and the dahlias.  They left about 12:30.

The asparagus has looked terrible for the last couple of days.  I thought that they needed some watering.  I watered them and that didn't make a difference.  This today I found out the trouble.  A cat was playing there.  She would jump into it and bite a stem and pulled down.  She is on the left side of the picture.
I found this allium growing up the the pile of lumber.  A seed fell there and then germinate sometime after that.  It take and allium several years to produce a flower.
I plugged the mower shot with the first load of grass clippings.  I dumped three loads.
Robert brought another chicken.  It is the yellowish one on the left.  She made herself right at home.  I did some weeding and irrigated most of the plants in the north garden.

Serviced the Car

I watered the potted plants in front of the house and the vegetables in back of the house.  Later I took the truck to Fillmore and stopped off at Dearden's and unloaded the three tires.  I couldn't do it myself.  I went in and got some help.  Carol brought the car; we left it at Dearden's.  They checked the oil and the Freon.

We then stopped at Roper's to get chelated iron.  They didn't have any so I bought a fertilizer that had iron in it.
I planted sweet corn.  There were two verities.

I used a garden trowel and made the holes and then dropped three seeds in each hole.  I covered them up with soil.  I run water down the row and also the row of sweet corn that I planted over a month ago.
Waiting for the Agave parryi to bloom.  Each day it looks like it will bloom tomorrow.

I put out bait for earwigs.  Soy sauce and vegetable oil.

The Carrots are Growing

I started pretty early this morning watering west of the garage.  I moved the hose to the south every thirty minutes.  I dug up a lot of weeds during the thirty minutes.  I turned the water on the

Tiller Fixed

As soon as I was dressed I went outside and turned off the water on the back lawn.  I had run all night.  I then turned on the water on the geraniums in the kidney and the geraniums under Carol's window.  Later I turned on the water on the geraniums in front of the front room window.  I watered the east lawn.  I moved the hose north every thirty minutes.

While all of the was going on I pushed the tiller to the west lawn next to the driveway.  It hasn't been working right.  I believe that the belt was to short.  I took off the tire and the belt cover.  It looked like I would have to remove the large pully.  I could get it off so I couldn't take off the belt.

I thought and thought of how I could do that.  I called my neighbor, Richard Darnell.  When he got here, he soon found the problem.  There is a tension spring that was in the wrong place.  He put it in the right place and put it back to gather.  I started it up.  Richard drove it to the south garden for a test tilling.  It worked quite well.  He drove it awhile and I drove it a while.
I tilled this row up and back several times.  I made a wide row and started some water down the row.  I am going to plant sweet corn tomorrow afternoon.  The soil was powder dry.
Picture of bad weed.  I climbs up everything and by so doing scatters seeds.
Another photo showing it searching for something to climb.
Three kittens in a sieve.
The lens on my phone was dirty and I couldn't get a sharp picture.  I took this selfie.
I washed the dirt off the lens and got a good photo.  This afternoon I cut down all the weeds with my cordless weed Wacker.
I got a photo of the Joshua tree
I then got a picture of the two tubs on the front porch.  Tiger, our cat got in the picture.

Prune the

Yesterday was Sunday.  We attended Fast and Testimony meeting and after that was Sunday School.

This morning I watered all most everything except the lawns.
I pruned the plant next to the garage.
The Agave parryi changes everyday.  At the end of each branch is a cluster of flower buds.  Waiting for it to bloom.
I got a good photo of the five kittens.  Two orange and the gray one is in the first dish.  Another orange one is eating in the second dish.  The other orange kitten is alone on the last dish to the right.
I did a lot of weeding in the peonies.  The weed pictured is a weed that I hate.  It can hide in another plant and leaves seeds all over the place.

I turned the sprinklers on the back lawn tonight.  It will turn it off about six in the morning.

Saturday

After breakfast this morning I set down in front of the TV and watched the three woodworking shows.  All of them had new content.  I watered the baskets and tubs and the three geranium beds

It is hot outside today.  I found some small oak boards.  I sharpened the ends and pounded each stake next to each tomato plant.  I tied each plant to the stake with twine.
I dug all of these potatoes out of one root control bag in house five.
I ran water down the onion row.  I kneeled down and pulled the weeds out of the wet soil.  It was hard to get up, so I got a chair so I could sit down and pull weeds.
This Agave parryi amazes me every time I see it.  There are a bunch of small branches that have a small group of flower buds.  That stem is way over ten feet tall.

Watered the Garden

I watered everything in the garden except the corn.  While the water was running, I dug weeds.

I got a good photo of the Agave parryi tonight.  It is still getting taller.  I dug a lot of weeds around the Agave and the Desert Willow.

It was almost 10:30 when our attorney Cleve Burns, came.  He gave us some papers to start preparing our trust.  It may take a month before it all finished.  He will be coming back next week with his laptop computer to record the process.
Five kittens having supper on our back porch.  Four orange and one gray.
I got the laser light out and put it under the cherry tree and pointed it up.  It started working after a few minutes.  I hoped that it would scare the birds that are eating the cherries.  I thought that it was working because I couldn't see any birds.  I could see the lights on the leaves and branches.  For some reason it quit working.  I checked it after dark and still nothing.

I cleaned most the leaves and things that were on the patio.  No pictures.
