Serious Weeding

The temperature this morning was much warmer.  The house temperature when I got up was 72 degrees.  I didn't turn the furnace it on and it has been off all day.  The temperature tonight is 71 degrees.  I opened the doors of house five.  Carol and went to the post office and got the mail.  When we got back home, we walked out to house five.  I opened the west door and helped Carol through the west door.  

We have a plant growing in a pot by the door to the patio.  I could smell the flower, and after a closer inspection, I saw the flower and took the above picture.  The plant blooms in mid-April.   This evening we found more flower buds.

Yesterday, I removed all of the pole bean vines off the cattle panels.  I dug the weeds in the kidney.  There weren't very many.

The wind has been blowing quite hard for a couple of day.  It blew over the century plant.

I pulled off a couple of plump seed pods and took them in the garage where I broke the pod to get the seeds.  They looked like seeds, but when I tried to pick them up, I couldn't fill any seeds.  It was all chaff.  

I dug the weeds in the north garden.  There was a lot of big clumps of green foxtail. I worked some before lunch and again after lunch.  I filled the backpack sprayer with weed killer.  I didn't spray any, because the wind was blowing too hard.  

Last week I was examined by Dr Gross.  I asked him if there was an IV solution that would give Carol some relief to the pain that she has suffered for so many years.  Carol received a call from the hospital in Richfield.   She asked insurance questions and then made an appointment May thirteen.

Trip to Fillmore

 The first thing after breakfast was a quick trip to Fillmore.  We stopped at Roper's to look at air compressors.

Easter Sunday

 I went to choir practice at nine and then came back home, and then went back at nine -thirty.  The speakers at sacrament meeting four of those that had a missionary training experience about three weeks ago.  They spoke of that experience.  We were disappointed because there was no mention of Easter and the resurrection/atonement of Jesus Christ.  Sunday school followed.  The teacher did a pretty good job with the lesson.  

After our meetings we came home to a good meal that Carol had provided.  This evening, Emily Gray stopped by on her way to St. George.  We did the purple lip activity.  Wet a piece of candy with our tongue and then rub our lips with the candy.

Planting Tomato Seeds

Saturday morning means three wood working shows.  Breakfast was over with plenty of time for left for watching the shows.  At nine thirty, I went for the mail.  There was none.  I lost all of my files that were on the computer in the little bedroom.   I found them.  I don't know what I did, but I put the cursor on a fill and click.  The plant file appeared.   I tried to print a label and there was nothing.  I made adjustments and printed the label which printed horizontal across down the middle of five labels.  I spent all morning making adjustments.  The preview was perfect, but not the results of the printing. 

I have some packets of tomato seeds that I wanted to plant them.  They should have been planted over a month ago and decided to wait until next year, but in a couple of minutes I decided to plant anyway and would get a late crop in the fall.

I used the potting soil that I bought Tuesday.  I filled 1206 tray with the soil.

I thought that I took two other photos but seemed to have disappeared.  The photo above shows the stick labels.  At the end there are two six packs of Lolo peppers.  I pressed each seed into the soil with my finger and then covered them with more potting soil. I pressed each cell with my finger for close contact with the seed.   I put the tray on the heating pad and sprayed them with water.  Later I carefully water them with a watering can. 

The wind was blowing hard and caused the east door of house five slam open and shut.  the door header was coming apart.  I got screws, and cordless driver to fix the door.  I clamped the header parts to gather and drove screws the plywood.  The plywood is quite dark.   The above photo is from the inside and,

I sprayed the grass that is growing in the top of the pomegranate bush about a month ago.  The grass is dead.  The pomegranate bush is really healthy.

Transplanting Tomatoes

 Another warm night.  The house temperature this morning when I got up was 68 degrees.  I went out after the news was over and opened the door to house five.  

I began to transplant the celebrity tomatoes.  I started off with using the soil from pots where the plants had died.  I also, used the potting soil that we bought yesterday.  I was impressed with the quality of it.  I found a bunch of small pots in the small shed in the south-west corner of our yard.  I ended up with thirty-two celebrity plants.  

The above photo is of twenty delicious tomato plants.  These will be ready to plant in the second week in May.  That is about a month from today.   This evening I put on Miricale Grow fertilizer on all of the plants.  I was going to plant more tomatoes.  I have nine small packets of seeds.  I made labels with computer in the small bedroom.  I got six printed.  And, some how lost all my files.  The printer would not print.

Payson Utah Temple

 I went to the Rever Health building for my eight o'clock appointment with Dr. Gross.  I was fasting.   I got to the UPS building and then turned around because I forgot a paper that listed the medications that I was taking.  I turned around and went home and got the paper.  My visit with the doctor went well.  I then came home.  

I had my breakfast, put the house garbage in the trunk, and went to the dump.  I opened the doors to house five.  I had the water in the garden running all night.  I shut off all of those taps.  We usually watch the Waltons, a show set in the late 1900's.   As soon as it was over, we put on our Sunday best clothes and drove to the Payson Utah temple.  After an enjoyable session, we bought some things at Walmart.  Next, we drove to Steve Regan store where I bought a bag of loose potting soil.  On the way home, we got some ice cream at the Red Barn.  We them drove home.  It was nearly seven.

Making a Drawer

This morning we drove to Fillmore to get a few groceries.  Carol was going to get a new handicapped parking permit.  We went to the driver license building.  It was looked.  It will be open on the second Wednesday and that is next week.   We stopped at the Fillmore Market.  It was about ten, and there were only a few cars in the parking lot.  We got our groceries.   We also stopped at the Service Drug store.  They didn't have the medication a couple of days ago but had it today.

I worked most of the afternoon building this drawer.  It will set on the floor of the pantry under the shelf.  I can slide it in and out to get items that may be on the drawer.
