Snow a Little

Carol got up and turned on the family room light.  I got up weighted and recorded the weight on my iPad.  I then showered, dressed and shaved.  I started cooking the old-fashioned oatmeal mush.  I fed the cats and started breakfast. After breakfast it took out a large pitcher of water to the roosters in greenhouse six. there was a skiff of snow.

I opened the garage door and took the above photo.
The four roosters were right by the east door of house six.  I broke the ice in the water container and poured in the hot water.
It didn't look like the roosters were eating any lay pellets.  The above rooster waa eating. One of the lay pellets flipped out of his beak and landed about twelve inches away.  The rooster walked over and ate it.
Later in the afternoon I raked the recycled potting soil.  I found several parsley roots.  I laid it on an old mat and took a picture.  I was amazed by how green it was.
Here is another photo. I used a pair of scissors and cut off all of the dried-up leave.
Here is a photo of the parsley with other plants.  Most were dead.
The same with a red beet. It was still alive.  If it regrew, it would grow seeds.
I turned on the sprinkler to soak the soil and potting soil.  I moved the sprinkler east every hour until the soil in house five was good and wet.  Carol fixed a good supper.  We watched TV until we went to bed.  It was Carol's birthday today.  Family and friends have called all day.

Roost for Roosters

It was about ten after seven when I got up.  Richard was up and he drove to Draper for a training meeting.  I fed the cats and started breakfast. Carol got up a little later.

There was a very little dusting of snow all day long.  I took a large pitcher of hot water out to house six. I broke the ice in the watering container, I dumped out the icy water and poured in the hot water.  I put the sprinkler in the west end of house five and turned on the sprinkler I moved the sprinkler east every half hour.  I came back in and watched two of the morning TV shows.  I got the mail.  I had lunch of leftover potatoes, carrots and pork and beans.  I had hoped to do some tilling, but it was too muddy.

This afternoon I some lay pellets to the roosters.  They are in the small bucket at the bottom of the above photo.  The rooster is standing by the watering container.
Here the lay pellets are in a twelve-inch frying pan that is just barely showing between the two roosters.
Here is a close-up photo of the twelve-inch frying pan full of lay pellets.
Here is a photo of the four roosters.

Here the large frying is full of lay pellets.
I made a place for them to roost.  It is a eight-foot 2x2 wired to two posts.
The roosters are scratching on the north side of greenhouse six.
On one of the times, I was walking back to the house.  The cat was sitting on a large rock.  I thought that it would make a nice picture.  We had grilled cheese sandwiches for supper.  I went out to house six to see if the roosters were roosting on the roost that I made for them.  They weren't.  They were roosting on the heater pipes and gas line that went to the furnace.  I called Richard to see if he was coming home tonight; He wasn't, we watched TV until we went to bed.

Moved Roosters

Nothing unusual this morning.  Richard got up and said that the was going on short drive. It was about 11:30 when he came back.  He said that he was watching the deer north of Oak City.  Carol and I were going to the Provo Temple.  But the weather forecast was for snow. We canceled our appointment and didn't go.  I watched the morning TV shows and went to the post office for the mail.  There wasn't any.  for lunch we had warmups left over.  I prepared house six for the roosters.  I put out some water and what hen scratch which was left over. It was almost dark when Richard caught the rooster and put them in house six, we had pancakes, eggs, and bacon for super.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Nearly Four Inches

I was a little late again getting up. I weighed and recorded my weight on my iPad.  I then started cooking my old-fashioned oatmeal mush.  I turned on the TV and surprise again, The TV came on.  I opened the backdoor and there was some snow on the steps.  I got the broom and swept of the snow.  I also filled the cat food bucket with more cat food.

I opened the garage door and took this picture.  I later measured nearly four inches of new snow.
I started scrape off the snow.  I made a path to the road.  The road had been plowed. It was still snowing a little.  Carol called out the door and told me to quit.  I came into the house and shaved and said my prayers. I then read the next chapter in the Book of Mormon and posted it on Facebook.
I went back to the driveway and began to scrape of the snow. One of our neighbors came by with a four-wheeler and snowplow and began pushing of the snow.   I thanked him and he left.  I cleaned the driveway with my shovel.
I then made a path to the greenhouses.  On the left is house four and on the right is house three.  I am looking to the west.
We drove to Fillmore.  We got food at Costa Vedia.  We ate some of it there.  Across the street is the Maverick gas station.  Above the station is a series of clouds and blue sky.
There is a small juniper tree covered with snow.
I worked some more in greenhouse five.  I spread the used potting soil around the area.
I moved one of the planting bench against the north wall of house five.
In house five there is a bag of potting soil that I don't like.  Three of the four rooster were following me around.
There were two packs of old seed in house five.  I took them into the house started germination tests.  They are in zip bags on top of the fridge.  We had warm-ups for supper.  The rest of the evening we watched TV until we went to bed.

Lazy Day

Last night I set my light alarm for 6:20, I thought.  The light didn't come on.  I got up anyway.  I weighted and recorded it on my iPad.  I showered and shaved and fed the cats.  I tuned on the news at seven.  I fixed breakfast.  Richard was up.  Carol dressed and came in for breakfast.  After breakfast we continued to watch the morning news. At nine I turned on the three channels 44 TV shows.  Carol went after the mail.  Richard had a frozen beef pie, and I had a frozen chicken pie for lunch.  After lunch we watched Highway to Heaven.  I checked for eggs.  That weren't any.  I fed the chickens more lay pellets.  The roosters in house five were okay.  I gave them more chicken scratch.  Carol fixed a really good supper; The rest of the evening was watching TV until we went to bed.

Car Fixed

Once again, I slept in.  I recorded my weight on my iPad.  Then I showered and dressed.  I turned on the TV to get the morning news.  I cooked a new batch of oatmeal mush, the fed the cats. I cooked breakfast. After breakfast I shut my bedroom door, said my prayers and shaved, it was about 9:45 when I drove to Fillmore.  I parked in front of Steve's tires. Someone drove my car into the garage.   I just set down and began to visit someone else.  The phone rang.  It was Richard.  He followed me to Fillmore and was parked outside by the garage. Brian told me that it would take about an hour to fix the car brakes.  The brakes made a grinding noise when we stopped the car.  He took me home where we watched a couple of TV shows.  The garage was going to call, but they didn't.  I called and they told me that the car was ready.  Richard took me back to Fillmore.  I got the car and drove home.  I stopped at the post office, but it was closed because of a holiday.  We had lunch of Sunday dinner leftovers. We watched TV.  Later this evening I found two eggs in the henhouse.  Carol fixed supper.  I had a hamburger.

I walked out to greenhouse five to see how the roosters were doing.  They were completely out of chicken scratch.  I piled a good helping for them.  We watched more TV until the dish was covered with snow.  I went out and with a long-handled broom I removed the snow.  I read another chapter from the Book of Mormon.   We watched TV until we went to bed.

Missed Choir

I was up at 5:10 this morning and started the slow cooker.  I put in the roast salted and peppered it. I then went back to bed.  I was up at 6:40. Listened to the radio most of the early morning. I started a new batch of old-fashioned oatmeal mush.  I cooked breakfast.  After breakfast I got ready for church.  Carol and I were a little early for church.  Richard stayed home.  We had a good dinner.
