No Pictures

I was up early enough to read a chapter from the Book of Mormon and post it on Face Book.  I cooked some old fashion oatmeal mush and prepared breakfast.  I worked in the garden.  I was late for Matlock.  After lunch we went to Fillmore.  We bought a few things at the dollars and a few more things at The Fillmore Marlet.  I was time to reed the cats when we got home.  I watered some of the plants in the garden.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Kidney Clean

It was a usual morning.  After breakfast I went out to the garden to do some weeding.  I began, also, to weed in the kidney.  I was on my knees all of the time digging spurge, morning glory, and.......

I cut down all of the salvia plants.  They are not blooming anymore.  It took me most of the morning to do this. I carried most of the cuttings to a compost pile west of the driveway.  I saw a lot of puncture      weeds on the way.
I dug up the puncture weeds with my shovel.  Most of them had viable seeds.  I put all of them in a large nursery can.
Skamp, our little kitten, was playing with the cat food in a frying pan.
This evening I picked whole bunch of cucumbers,

Sunday/Monday

We didn't eat breakfast this morning because it was fast Sunday.  We made some preparations for dinner.  We drove to church and set on the bench where we usually sit.

Regular Irrigation

I didn't have time this morning to read from the Book of Mormon.  I did my prayers and shaved.  I made old fashion oatmeal mush.  When it was finished it was time to go up to the ditch. I drove up in the truck and turned the water so it would come to our yard.  I raked up the leaves and things in the ditch.  There was a good stream of water.

I removed the cap and directed the water through the pipe to the west.  I started watering the back lawn.  I got it going pretty good and then went into the house for breakfast.  I tended the water until about one this afternoon.
I watched the kitten, that we now call, Skamp, walk back and forth on this pipe.  She didn't want to get of because of the water.  She finally did.
I directed the water to the plants in the south garden.  I watered these yesterday with the hose.  I watered them again with canal water. All of the plants in our garden and yard got a good irrigation.
I was finished with the water, so I turned it down to Ann, our neighbor.  Adam wanted the water after we were finished. He was in Fillmore when I called him, and he would not be able to get it until later. It was nearly dark when he took the water.
A good stream of water coming out of the pipe that delivers it to our back yard.  Ann visited with Carol for a short amount of time.  We watch TV until we went to bed.

Water in the Morning

I was up plenty early this morning to read another chapter in the Book of Mormon and post it on Face Book.   After breakfast I did a lot of weeding in the north garden.  I dug the weeds in the pole beans, the tomato plants and some weed around the potato plants.  I came in the house to watch the ending of MatLock.   Carol had some company and when they left, I missed the first five minutes of the TV show.  After that I picked up the mail at the post office.  Our neighbors were quite concerned about the kitten.  They brought us a small cardboard box; The bottom was covered with an old towel.  This afternoon I watered all of the plants in the south garden and most of the plants in the north garden.   I was standing in the driveway when Tony Dearden came by.  He stopped and told me about getting some irrigation water.

I put all of the irrigation pipes out to be ready.  Went to check out the ditch.  It was clean.  I went up a little later and the water was running down to Tony's garden.
A beautiful sunset this evening. The photo does not show anything close to the actual beauty.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

kitten died

The watering can was empty.  I filled it and the chickens and baby chicks came and began to drink.
A better photo of the five chicks.
I found this small kitten on the patio. It had rained and was soaking wet.  I brought it in the house and we dried it off.  It didn't survive.  I buried it in the garden by the potatoes.
