We left early. 

Normal Friday

Normal Friday?  I was up early.  The sprinklers on the back lawn sprayed all night and also some this morning.  As soon as I showered I put on my shoes and then turned off the sprinklers.   After breakfast Carol finished the puzzle and we watched the morning channel 44 TV shows.  When they were over we got the mail and then drove to the Fillmore Market in Fillmore.  We then came home and had Lunch. A little more TV.   The hose for the east lawn had a bad leak.  I tried one fix which didn't work. I found a part in the garage that ended up working. I turned on the water and got a nice spray.  

The sprinklers sprayed a little in the hen house and got the lay pellets wet.  I took off the cover, cleaned out the bird poop.  I then put it back into the hen house.

This the end of the hose.  I put in the male adapter.

I turned on the water.  The spray wide enough to spray both sides of the lawn.

It gets really hot in the afternoons.  One time during the day it was 110 degrees.  I watered the kidney and the dahlias.  I also ran water on the front lawn east of the side walk.

The rest of the evening was TV until we went to bed.

More Peas

 After breakfast we watched two TV shows.  I then went out to house five and started and started picking peas. I would sit on a folding chair and pull off the peas and put them in a tote.

Mother's Day

After breakfast we had plenty of time for to get ready for church.  Two of the speakers did not mention mothers at all.  The last speaker did a good job and talked about good mothers.  The priesthood lesson went really well.  After church we came home for a good dinner. Richard cooked the spareribs.  We watched some of the church programing on TV channel eleven.  Later in the afternoon said his goodbyes and left.  I didn't get any pictures.  All of our kids called their mother and expressed love and wishes.   The weather clear and warm.  House five was 110 degrees.  

Picking Peas

Saturday morning after breakfast I took my tote out to greenhouse five. I didn't take my coat for the sun was shining and warmed up house five. I picked peas for nearly two hours.  I sit on a chair and reach out for the plump green arrow peas. 

I took them into the house where Carol removed the peas out of the pod.  It took her over an hour,  She blanched them and put them on two large cooky sheets.  She then put in the freezer.  

I helped Carol put them in a large zip bag and then put them in the freezer in the garage.  We didn't eat lunch because the Holden fire department provided lunch. It started at two. Richard stayed with us last night.  We then had lunch at the fire station.  It was a nice buffet.  We saw people there that we have never seen before.  We also visited with friends and neighbors.

late this afternoon I shut the west door,  I watered the plants.  The temparture in house five.

This fig bush which is one of many is really healthy.

I got several pictures of this liloc bush. Lisa gave it to Carol last year.

Such pretty blossoms.  Carol asked me to email her some pictures.

Richard got the cart and took the pomegranate shrub outside. He put it near the patio in the backyard.  The garden hose will reach it making it easy to water the plant.  In a week or so I will move it to the front yard.

Orem Temple

 It was around ten when we drove Orem.  There was a lot of traffic, but that didn't slow us down much.  

Our first stop was not at the Orem temple but at an Asian buffet.  

Around the table starting on the left.  Eric and Lisa Gray, Robert, Carol and Merrill Johnson, and Tai Gray.  On the left back is Richard Johnson, who was at work.  His equipment broke down. He came to this cafe two hours earlier and was still there when we came.  Jeanne, Robert's wife was there, but had to go to work.   We said our goodbyes and drove to the home of Miles and Nyleen.  

I took this picture.   I was standing on the Batty driveway and got a picture of the stormy mountains.

We had time to get a haircut before we needed to go to the temple. Miles gave me haircut while we waited.

We dressed in our Sunday best.  

Lisa brought this big bowel of strawberries, whipped cream and white cake.  We gave some to the Batty's.  We then drove to Orem temple.  We found a parking place close the temple door.  After the session was over, we took the Batty's back home.  We were going to stop at Sam's Club, it was late.  We stopped at Nephi and filled the car with gas. It was still light when we got home, I quickly changed clothes and watered the plants.  The tomato plants were looking good.  Nyleen fixed us a lunch which ate on the way home. We watched TV until we went to bed.

More Peas

 After breakfast we watched two channel 44 TV shows. I then went out to greenhouse five and began to pick peas.  Rod Dastrup rang the doorbell. He was wondering if I had fixed the water leaks.  I fixed them yesterday.  He then went to the water meter and turned on the water.  I then checked several new hose bibbs.  The water was there.

Yesterday uncovered the chicken water tunnel.  I worked on it quite a while and finally got the water dripping in the water container.

With my cordless weed eater, I cut down the weeds on the west end of house five.  The sun was shing in such a way that I couldn't get a good picture.

It froze some last night.  The cherries were okay,

I picked a lot of rhubarb this evening.  We are taking it up to Lisa tomorrow.

I did a lot of cutting the grass on the the north end of the north garden.  The peonies have large buds.

I picked enough to nearly fill this tote.  Carol shelled out the peas, blanched them, put them in the freezer and then put them a zip freezer bag. I put them in the freezer that is in the garage.  We watched TV until we went to bed.
