I watered the basket.  I also fertilized the geraniums in the kidney, and watered it in.
We worked for quite a long time connecting the east end of the pipe to the west.  When finished the water was turned on and it leaked badly.  Shane and Dustin are tightening both ends of the compression coupler.  The couldn't completely stop the drip on the west side.  There was a small drop of water about every five seconds.
They installed a tee, a short nipple, a valve, and a valve box.  They are taking a water line into house two.
The tomato plants in the north garden were hung last week.  They have shown much growth and needed trimming and another tomato clip.
The tomato plants look like Juliets.
The big project was stretching a wire from the top of the west post two top of the east post.  I put in the two steel posts and attached to it the two eight foot 2x2's.  I tightened them to the steel posts.  while the ends were on the ground, I attached the tie wire.   I raised the top end to so the 2x2's were straight up which tightened the wire.  I did that several times.
I put guy wires from the top the ground.  I drove in a large spike into the ground which held it tight.  You can see the wire wrapped around the spike.
A turn buckle is at one end of the post.
I got a good picture of the Cherry Banana.  There are three plants.

Pedestal is Finished

I glued the top of the pedestal last night and this morning it was not a smooth glue job.   I cut down the middle which went through the glue joint.  I then glued it back together.
The pedestal stem had a bad spot because of the router.   I applied some glue and held it together with this short speed clamp.
The strawberry bed doesn't look good.  I removed the cover and watered some.  It looks like all of the plants are dead.  I think they were dead when I got them.
The radishes are growing well.  I transplanted a red beet in a spot in the corner.
I seeded the red beets here and there will be a good crop.  The welded wire is in place to keep the chickens from scratching in the raised bed.
I uncovered the peas.  there should be a lot of them.
I brought the two trays of sweet corn to the patio.  It is ready to be transplanted.  It is hear to be hardened of before I plant them early next week.
I got some Gladiator tomato seeds and planted them.  I soaked the six packs in a tray of water.
The package said twenty-five seeds, I planted twenty-nine.  The cells of one six pack had one empty cell.
The empty seed packet.
I covered the seeds with vermiculite and soaked them in the pan of water.
The six packs are setting on a water proof heating pad.  I hope the germinate a lot fast than those in house five.
Here the pedestal is finished.  I glued the stem to the base and came back a couple hours later and turned it upside down and drove in some brads with my brad nailer .

Shed Progress Noted

It was stormy all night.  There was a trace of snow on the house and garage roof and a little snow on the front and back lawn.  I didn't think that I would be able to work on the shed.  We drove to Fillmore where I got nine more lag screws.  We stopped at the State Bank and then got some groceries at the Fillmore Market.  It was lunch time when we got home.
Richard a couple of weeks ago, gave us some small almonds.  Carol had removed the nuts on some of them.  After lunch we worked for nearly an hour cracking them.
We got a small bag of nuts.
The rafters on the back header were attached to the header with 5 1/2 inch lag screw.  They were not attached every two feet.  There were three roofing sheets on top of the rafters.  Some were screwed into the rafters.  I removed all the screws.   I then  removed each lag screw and slid it into the right positions and put in the lag screw.
I had to make a new pilot hole.  I did for all eight of the rafters.  I was pleasantly surprised that the lines on the sheathing were mostly over the rafter.  I started to put in the screw.  Some of the rafters were bowed either to the left of to the right.  I used a pipe clamp the pull them into position and then screwed them down.  Before I left the roof I screwed the three sheathing down.  I put all of the tools on the cart and put them in house three.
We had re-fried potatoes, sausage, and one gladiator tomato.

Pruning and Hanging Tomato Plants

Five things that I did in house six.  First: I pruned the lower leaves of most of the tomato plants.  Second: I pruned all the branches.  Third: I clipped the new top growth to the twine trellis.  Fourth: I removed all of the rotted and spoiled tomatoes.  Fifth:  I picked about 3 1/2 buckets of tomatoes.
By removing the leaves the tomatoes are easy to see.  Which exposed the fruits making it much easier to find the when harvesting.
All of the pruning and leaves are on the main aisle
The cucumbers are really growing fast.  I also pruned cucumber branches and clipped some new growth to the twine trellis.  An example of the cucumbers is in the photo above.

I turned on both fans this afternoon which made it a lot cooler as the flow through house six from east to west made it fill a little cooler.
I watched some yellow jackets fly under this small table which is in house six.  I turned it over and found the yellow jackets.  I came back in the evening and sprayed them with WD-40.  It is a safe fast killer.  I found two other yellow jacket nests and also sprayed them
Here is a bucket of Gladiator tomatoes.  They are large Roma type tomatoes.

The Logan, Utah Temple

Friday, September 7
Our grandson, Dax Gray is going to be married tomorrow morning to Brittany Van Leuven in the Logan Utah Temple.  The sealing will start at nine.  It is requested that guests arrive a half our early.  Carol and I left Holden this morning around ten.  We did some shopping on the way up.  We had lunch at the Golden Coral.  And was at Lisa's house around 4:30.  We stayed there the night.

Saturday, September 8
We were up at 5:30 and were soon on our way.  Lisa gave us small hot sausage and cheese inside a bun.  We ate it as we drove.  It was pretty good.  We missed the road to Logan.  We were looking for a sign that pointed towards Logan.  We drove up and down the streets in Brigham.  Finally we got the right road and were soon in Logan.  We parked in the temple parking lot and waited in the waiting room.

The Landscape

A small tree, seven or eight inches in diameter, shows a large scare which was caused from the lose of bark which has completely healed over the years.

The Guests

Our Garden

The Beans are really doing well now.  There are enough for Sunday dinner tomorrow.  The above phot is of a small portion of the hoop where the bean are hanging.

The grapes are now raisons.  I should have collected them a day or to ago.
I have them in this large green bowl.  Most every raison has a small stem which will take a long time to pull each one out.
I picked about thirty gladiator tomatoes. I cut the stem off of all of them.  With a spoon I removed the seeds and ribs. I then quartered each tomato.
I scraped out the seeds and placed them on the dryer.

This fuzzy picture show the seeds, juice, and some of the ribs.   I ground them up some, salted the and boiled them.  They were pretty tasty.
