Surprise

Nothing unusual this morning.  Carol had a good rest and then showered and put up her hair.

While she was doing that, I vacuumed the family room.  I put the vacuum away and swept the kitchen floor.  We had our usual breakfast.
I opened the bag of meow mix.  The cats liked it a lot better than the cat food that we bought at the Fillmore Market. CR Charleswooth made a food delivery.  Carol bought some chocolate rains and carrots.  I had a bowel of frozen homemade soup.
This is the surprise.  There are four celebrity tomato seeds that have germinated.  They are hard to see.  I was going to dump the tray in a shallow tray.   There is no sign of any germinating pepper plants.
The pea seeds are showing signs of germination.
I had a sweet potato smothered with butter for supper.  So good!   We spent the rest of the night watching TV.

Snow Removal

I was up a little bit late. I weighed and recorded my weight on my iPad fed the cats.  I watered most of the plants while waiting for Carol to get. She said that she had a good rest.  I started breakfast. After eating I started to shovel the snow off of the driveway.

This is how it looked when I went out to the garage.

I watched my two TV shows.  I scraped off the snow.  I scraped more snow and ice of the driveway.  A lot of it melted off.
This afternoon I did the front sidewalk.
I checked on the chickens in greenhouse six. I gave them some hot water.
Just as it was getting dark, I emptied their water container. I watered the peas that are planted in greenhouse five.  I covered the plants that were on the bench.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

The Sabath

Again, it was pretty late before I got up. I weighed and recorded my weight on my iPad.  I showered and said my prayers.  I didn't take time to shave.  I fed the cats and turned on the radio for the Sunday morning programing.  Being the first Sunday of the month we did not eat.  Carol wrapped the potatoes and sweet potato with foil and put them in the oven. I set the temperature and timer.  It was a little after 9:30 when we drove to church.  There was not many setting on the three front rows. I went out the greenhouse and did my chores there.

The chickens in greenhouse six were just waking up.
I gave them some warm water.  They came right over for a drink.
The seeds are not germinating. I dug in one cell to find a tomato seed. I didn't find one.  I then dug in another cell to find a pepper seed.  I found one, but it didn't germinate.
I watered the hens in the hen house. I couldn't find any eggs.  Testimonies were born.  Most listed all of the things that they were thankful for.  We had a new teacher for Sunday school.  He was well prepared and did a good job.  After church, we went home and had a delicious dinner.  I checked the chickens one more time.  I dumped the water in greenhouse six and took the water can in the hen house to the garage, we watched TV until we went to bed.

The Celebration

After breakfast I uncovered the plants in greenhouse five and gave the chickens in six fresh warm water. I then gave the chickens in the hen house their water container.  I watched the two woodworking shows which I usually watch on Saturday morning. Mary Remkes passed away a couple of days ago.  I didn't want to dress up to go, so I decided to stay home.  Carl Remkes, was my ministering partner.  I changed my mind and decided to.  I put on my suit.  Carol made funeral potatoes last night and put it in the oven to heat it up. Carol drove me and the hot casserole to the church.  I walked down the church hallway.  I saw a few people.  I thought that the family was at the cemetery, but they weren't.  I was told to go to the relief society room.  The room was full of people.  There was only one empty chair. It was by the door. I set there and the meeting started.  The two photos below are of the program.

I stayed for the luncheon.  Ward members made different dishes. I got my lunch and set down with a friend while I ate.  They took me home.  Carol and I went for a ride around two. We drove to the cemetery to see where Mary Remkes was buried.  There was a place where the snow had been scraped off the lawn.  There was a place where a sixteen-inch square was covered with fresh sand.  We had omelets for supper.
I took this picture of the chickens who were roosting this morning

I took another picture of the furnace where they were roosting.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Cool Day

I was up a little earlier this morning.  I weighted, recorded the weight on my iPad.  I showered, said my prayers and then shaved.  I started a batch of old-fashioned oatmeal mush.  I fed the cats and started preparing breakfast.  Carol was up a little later, showered and then done her hair.  We had our regular breakfast.  I watered the chickens in the hen house.

I took a container of hot water and poured it into the watering pot.
They came up for a drink.  It was getting a little late in the morning.  We watched the three TV shows that I usually watch.  I went to the post office and mailed one letter.
I took a picture of the bag of grapes that was in the freezer. It is like the bag of grapes that I fed the chickens earlier in house six.
I tried all of the drip tape in greenhouse six into big bundles.  I went to the house and got a large black garbage bag.  I filled the bag with the drip tape and tied the top close.
I turned the water container upside down and dumped out the ice, outside.  Carol made a funeral potato for the lunch at the church.  One of the sisters of the ward had been on constant care. She passed away a couple of days ago.  We watch TV until we went to bed.

Frozen Pipes

I was really late at getting up this morning.  I got up several time in the night to go to the bathroom.  The next thing that happened was my bedroom light came on.  I got up, weighed and turned on the TV.  I then fed the cats.  Carol was making the toast.  I fried an egg for Carol.  She ate her egg on toast and I ate my homemade old-fashioned oats.  I then ate my scrambled egg.  I took out some hot water to the chickens in house six.  I broke the ice and dumped the water container.  I filled it with the hot water.  I went back to the house, and we watched the three morning TV shows.  I got the mail.  I had a can of soup for lunch.  Carol had a dish cereal.  We drove to Fillmore for gas at the LOVE gas station.  We bought groceries and the Fillmore marker.  As we were leaving the market three of our Holden friends had just checked out.  We came home.  I fed the chickens in house more lay pellets.  The chickens were eating the snow just outside of the door. I looked for the water that runs for the chickens.

  It was frozen.

I took the watering tunnel nearly completely apart.  I removed the insulation panels and the plywood top. The PVC stem was straight up.  There was a 3/4-inch elbow that was broken.  I cut it off and began to pour hot water on the pipes.  I broke some of the ice with a shove.  I gave up on finding the rest of the pipe because the ground was frozen.  The pipes go to greenhouse four.  They are barely under the ground.  I hope it is not all frozen.
I found the watering can and filled it halfway up and put it in the hen house.  The chickens went right to drinking.
This is a watering container I have been using all winter.  It was frozen solid.  I put it at the back of the garage. We had hotdogs for supper.  It was getting dark when I dumped the water in house six.  The chickens in there were beginning to roost.  I watered the plants in house five with the hose and covered up the cuttings.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Dentist Check

It was quite late when I went to bed. I woke up about every hour to go to the bathroom.  I was up earlier this morning.  I turned on the news and fed the cats.  Carol got up a little later.  I made toast and started cooking an egg for Carol.  We drove to Fillmore for my appointment with Doctor Grose.  We were there early, but soon went into the exam room.  We spent quite a lot of time with him.  We answered his questions.  He gave me quite a thorough examination.  We took my suit the cleaners.  When I got inside, we found out that they don't do that anymore. They do have a lot of coin operated cleaners and driers.   On the way home we bought a fifty-pound bag of lay pellets for the chickens.

I took a container of warm water for the chickens.  They went right to the water for a drink.
I didn't take long for the chickens to get to the water.
One more picture.
I put out lay pellets for the chickens and all of the were there for something to eat.
The melting snow turned into long icicles.  This one is hanging above the patio.
I don't like my implants.  I went to the dental office for Doctor Dutson to make some adjustments.
He took my dentures out and put them in several times.  He advised me to put them in each morning and take them out when I go to bed.   For super I had a chicken pot pie.  I usually take out my teeth to eat it.  I left them in and ate the pie without any difficulty.  I ate a dried piece of toast covered with Nutella without and difficulty.  In the above photo I am with Doctor Dutson.  We watched TV until we went to bed. 0
