Busy Planting

I was up fairly early this morning.  I weighed myself and recorded the weight on my iPad, I showered, dressed, said my prayers and shaved.  I had about twenty-five minutes to read from the Book of Mormon.  I started my old-fashion oatmeal mush.  I fed the cats.  We then had breakfast.  I watered the plants on the front porch.  I watered the plants in greenhouse five.  I planted about fifteen Roma tomato plants in the north garden.  Carol and I drove to the Fillmore Market to get some ice cream treats.  Holden and his family may be coming here on their way home.  We wanted to have some ice cream treats for them when they get here.  I had warm-up for lunch. I then worked out in the garden.  I watered most of the plant growing in the garden.  The potatoes are doing well.  The pole beans are growing.  Those on the north side are quite weedy.    I had a chicken pot pie for super.

The pomegranate plant that Rober planted in house five has buds.  This is a close-up photo.

We drove around town.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Surprise Copany

Did some watering this morning.  We then had our usual breakfast.  After breakfast I watered in greenhouse five.  We then watched a TV show.  Then of to Fillmore.  I bought one black ink and then a colored ink.  We tried to buy gas at the new gas station, but none of the pumps would work.  We then went to the Love gas station where we filled up.  After lunch. Jeanne called and told us that our grandson, Holden and hid family were coming to see us.  It them quite awhile before they got here.

We had a nice visit.  The kids were glad to get out of the car.
They found the piano had a good time pounding the keys.
Another photo.
And another one.
Before they left, we got this selfie.   Holden cut some snowball flowers.  Carol put them in a vase they took them up to the cemetery.
I mowed the lawns.  The grass on the front and back lawns were really tall.
Here is the back lawn.  Greenhouse five is visible in the background.
Here is the east lawn. truck is in the left center.
The front lawn looking to the east.  For the most part the lawnmower did a good job.  I got the lawn mowed before Holden and his family came. We watched TV until we went to bed.

Memorial Day

I opened the watermelon yesterday and put it in the hen house.  This morning the chickens ate most of the melon.  When I checked it tonight all of the pink was gone.
The flags were put out this morning.  I got a pretty good picture with a little wind that opened the flag.

Cemetery

We are headed to the Provo cemetery to place flowers on the graves of parents, grandparents, and grandparents.  I was up early just as it was getting light. I weighed, showered, and shaved.  After that I watered the baskets and plants on the front porch.  I watered the potted plants in greenhouse five.  I fed the cats and picked rhubarb for Lisa.  I brought it into the house and Carol informed me that it wasn't nearly enough.  I went back out and picked a whole lot more rhubarb.  I also checked the oil in the car. It was down a little.

Robert and Jeanne

As soon as breakfast was over, we, Carol and I, started to plant the geraniums, growing in greenhouse five.  I loaded all of them on the cart and brought them to the front yard.

After planting the geraniums, I picked the peas.  Carol put them in the sink and drained them in the green bowel.
We planted some of the geraniums on the south side of the kidney.
We planted more on the north side of the kidney.
Nyleen gave Carol this fern.  Robert planted it under the large leaf linden tree It is a shady spot and we will water it every day.
Here is a better phot of the fern.
I weeded the blue lake pole beans on the south side of the hoop.    Robert made some adjustments on the watering of the plants growing in house five.  Some of the drip tape in house six contained some holes. Water was spraying from several spots. We found some pieces that would fix the problem. He cut out  the leaking tape and put in a coupler to connect the ends together.  After a short visit Robert and Jeanne went home.  We watched TV until we went to bed.
