Eagle Mountain, Thanksgiving, and Family

This morning we made preparations for Thanksgiving dinner hosted by April and Eric Johnson.  Yesterday. we made two pumpkin pies and boiled sixteen eggs for deviled eggs.  Why are the called deviled eggs?  A quick search of the internet yields a long historical history of deviled eggs.  The short answer is:  Traditionally hot spices were mixed into the mashed yoke. Hence, it was a representation of hell, the domain of the devil.

After breakfast this morning we removed the shell.  We mashed the yolk, cut the egg in half length wise.  Carol mixed mayonnaise and mustard with the yolk.  Some of the shells were difficult to remove which ended up with half white that didn't look pretty.  I didn't get a picture of the finished dish.

It rained most of the way to Eagle Mountain and in some places in Utah county  there was a hard rain.  When we arrived at the home of Eric and April, we did the usual hugs and visited some.  The dinner was to be served in the basement  which has a large family room.  Two more tables plus a serving table was added to what is picture above.  Eric and Lisa brought the extra tables and some chairs.
