Right after I showered and dressed I went out side and started the irrigation. First was the kidney with a sprinkler on both sides.
I write all most every day of what goes on in our home in the garden and in the nursery. We are ordinance workers at the Manti Temple on the Tuesday morning shift and the Saturday evening shift. In addition there are several trips to Utah county a couple of times a month and a few short trips to other mountain west areas. Our family is most important to us. All of our children live in Utah except one who lives in Kentucky.
Right after I showered and dressed I went out side and started the irrigation. First was the kidney with a sprinkler on both sides.
What a day! A chapter in the Book of Mormon, breakfast as usual. And cobwebs in the kitchen window. Carol wanted me to clean them out. We removed some of the items in the window to get at the cobwebs. The hose on the vacuum cleaner wasn't long enough to reach the cobwebs and other debris in the window.
I remembered that I had this shop vacuum that I used some. I brought it into the house, I needed to stand in the sink to clean the debris that was in the window. I got the large stepladder and was able stand in the sink. Carol held the shop vacuum on the counter. While I was standing in the sink, I could see spider in other areas of the kitchen. I got the extension tube for the vacuum and was able to suck all of the spiders. I got more above the fridge. There were more above my bedroom door. I got them. I found more spiders in other areas of the family room. This morning after breakfast I watered the plants in front of our house. I watered the tomato and pepper plants in the south garden.
It was around 8:15 when we left Holden headed for the Provo temple. We were there plenty early. There were a couple sprinkle times. Carol's, nephew Chris Peay is and ordnance worker at the Provo temple. I was able to have a short visit with him. One the way home we stopped a Walmart where we got three items. Cat food, soap for the washing machine, and toilet paper. There were a lot of cars lined up to get gas. We went to Costco for gas. The lines were short. We got gas and stopped at Wendy's in Payson for lunch. After we ate our lunch, we got ice cream cones at the Red Barn. We then came home. I watered the plants in front of our yard.
Instead of carrying a bucket of water to water the dracaena. I hooked up a hose to the hose bibb by the house. It took me quite a while to do it. I was able quickly water it. The photo is from yesterday.I finished breakfast and then went up to the head ditch. I put the gate in the head ditch which sent the water to our yard. I cleaned the weed out of the ditch and then checked at our yard.
I watered both rows of corn before breakfast. The transplanted corn and the seeded corn. I set the timer for sixteen minutes. It was finished when the timer went off. We had breakfast and then went to church. The last speaker at sacrament the meeting gave a very a good talk. I had a hard time understanding the priesthood meeting teacher. There was some discussion and there was fifteen minutes left when he quit. After lunch I got a call from Chuck Tracy, the water master, informing us that we have a water turn at seven in the morning. I got my weed eater and went to the head ditch to cut the weeds in the ditch. The whip string came off. I went back home and put in a new string. I then went back to the ditch and cut weed in that section of the ditch.
This morning I picked the peas. I had been picking every day and got a small bunch. I then skipped a day. Then the next morning it had rained, so I waited one more day. I picked both sides and nearly filled this bucket.
Carol washed them. She then began the shelling of the peas. I started shelling she suggested that I do some work in the garden. Carol blanched the peas, put the peas on a tray and put them in the freezer. Later, we filled a zip freezer bag with the peas. I watered, dug weeds, watered and dug some more. Early this morning I started watering the east lawn. I moved the hose about every forty-five minutes. I watered the front lawn and geraniums with the other hose. Please LIKE, SHARE and LEAVE A COMMENT! We want to hear from you!
Breakfast as usual. It had rained some during the night. The lawn was still wet. I watered the plants in house five.
I watered the burpless cucumbers. A couple of them are getting the first true leaf. Seven seeds have germinated so far. I gave our extra tomato, crimson sweet watermelon and our topaz melons to Adam Remkes. Please LIKE, SHARE and LEAVE A COMMENT! We want to hear from you!
As soon as breakfast was over, I picked the peas. I started on the south side and then did the north side. I got a nice batch of peas, but not as many as yesterday. I watered the peas this afternoon hoping that it will help firm the pods.
The Azelia pot is just a little over half full. Carol washed and shelled them and put them in the on a cooky tray and then put them in the freezer. We started a new zip bag. I did a lot of weeding and watering in the garden. A deputy sheriff knocked on the door. He was looking for Richard. We don't know why. Carol called Richard and he had no idea why they wanted him, Richard called back later. It may be he was driving with out insurance on his truck. Then Richard got his truck insured. Please LIKE, SHARE and LEAVE A COMMENT! We want to hear from you!
Another cool morning. As soon as breakfast was over, I got a picture of the kidney.
