I write all most every day of what goes on in our home in the garden and in the nursery. We are ordinance workers at the Manti Temple on the Tuesday morning shift and the Saturday evening shift. In addition there are several trips to Utah county a couple of times a month and a few short trips to other mountain west areas. Our family is most important to us. All of our children live in Utah except one who lives in Kentucky.

More Lights, Rain, & Fixes
This morning I walked of to the construction down the road. I got a couple of pictures. The one above and the one below.
It is s two door garage and shop. Two windows and an entry door.
Carol wanted a gift wrapping table. In previous years she wrapped on her bed or on the kitchen table. I got a short table from house two and put it in the guest bedroom. I cleaned off all the dust. She can wrap gifts without removing the things on the kitchen table.
I put another set of LED lights on the ceiling of the front porch. They were attached to a old bamboo fishing pole.
There was a break in the rain. I put lights on the ash tree and hung lights on the bushes behind the ash tree.
Two cats in the Dawn Redwood Tree. Midnight on the left who chased Tiger on the right up the tree.
Over the years it was difficult to keep our Dawn Redwood tree standing up straight. There have been times when it fell over. I tied it to a screw in the light switch. I made a round base for the pot to sit on. I then made a post which I attached to the base with glue and three screws.
I held the plant up and Carol put the base under the pot. I put brace on the left side of the post and another one on the right side.
With twine I tied the tree trunk to the top of the post.
The final look of the tree. It is standing pretty straight. You can't see the post. I should put a green. stain on the base.

Richfield and Christmas Tree
We drove to Richfield for the purpose of getting a new artificial Christmas tree. We couldn't find one in Payson on Monday. We went to the Walmart store in Richfield. They did not have the tree that we wanted and the ones that they had we didn't want. We bought items for Christmas presents. I picked out a watch for my present from Carol. It was about $30.00. I had my old watch and asked the clerk if she would set it to the correct time. It was two hours fast. She did it in about thirty seconds. I returned the new watch to its place on the counter. We also bought a few groceries and came home. We were back home by one.
It was raining when we got up and it rained most of the day. There was a little sunshine in the late afternoon.
As soon as we got home we had a lunch. I went into the garage and brought the old Christmas tree into the house. I undid the box and began to put it together. Carol helped me. We removed the white socket plugs and screwed in the bulbs.
I crochet didn't get any pictures of the progress. We put on the silver balls, some glass ornaments, some crochet angels, and crochet snow flakes. There were a few other thing that we also put on the tree. There are three pictures of the finished tree.
I am really surprised at how good it looks after the age of it. We have had it for many years.
I have been watching the building that is coming up down the street. Last night they nearly finished to roof. This morning before it began to rain they finished with the roof. No shingles yet. By tonight the has some installed some windows and put on an east door.
There is a lot of rain falling this evening.

Four Deer in the Yard
We squeezed all the lemons. It took over an hour, and put them in four ice cube trays.
We have two large totes full of nutcrackers. There are a couple smaller boxes that also, have nutcrackers. Carol put them all on the coffee table while I stood on the bench behind and put them on top of the of the entertainment cabinet.
The above photo shows most of them.
I made a shelf above the living room door that goes into the bathroom and two bedrooms. We put some nutcrackers on the shelf. It looks pretty cool.
This cabinet has snow globes and other Christmas items.
Here is a nativity scene.
Here is the nativity on a small table.
Here is the large nativity show the baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph, The Shepherds the wise men, and their animals.
And here are the deer.
Another picture. They have been on our back lawn most of the day. On the right is a deer laying down.
This evening we took the frozen lemon cubes out of the freezer.
We put them in zip bags and put the back in the freezer. one cube is about two tablespoons of lemon juice.

Three Days - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
Sunday
I peeled a large sweet potato and sliced it in half. It was wrapped in foil, and baked for a couple of hours. Tasted really good.
While we were at Church, Wendy, Carols nice, left two tubs of lemons in our garage. I got a picture of one of them.
Two larva I pulled off the pepper plant.
The Topaz melon for some reason is dead.
A photo of pole beans and lettuce.
Monday -- No Photos -- We spent the in Utah County, Our main objective today was to get the car serviced. We were in Murdock Hyundai service in Linden for nearly three hours. There was a lot of waiting. We delivered a tub of lemons to Miles and Nyleen. We left their place and drove to Orem. Carol discovered that she left her purse at Nyleen's. We drove back to get it. We had lunch at the In and Out. The second objective was to get a artificial Christmas tree. The was one in the Payson Walmart. It was gone. I called the Walmart store in Spanish Fork. A lady put me on hold while she looked for a tree. She did not get back with me. After twenty minutes I hung up and left. It was dark by the time we got home. That is why there are no photos.
Comments and questions are welcome.
Tuesday -- We went to the Manti Utah temple early this morning
We bought the lazzer light projector. I set it up this afternoon. It was too light to see if it was working; Later in the evening it did begin to work.
I put up a lot more Christmas lights. I wrapped a lot of tree branches. It looks pretty good in the dark.
A garage is being built down the street north of us. They put up the walls and trusses today.
The is a truck loaded with more lumber un loading. It was too dark for a better picture.

Deer in the Yard Again
Breakfast is over and doing a little kitchen clean-up, looked out the kitchen window and was surprised to see deer on the lawn about thirty feet from the house. There was a four point buck and five does. Carol was close by; I told her to look. She was as surprised as I was. She saw another doe south of the hen house.
I went outside with my phone to get a couple of pictures. I walked around the east side of the house and as soon as they saw me, the took off. I took several pictures, The above picture is the best that I took. The deer is in the blue circle.
Carol wanted me to remove all thanksgiving decorations from the front porch. I put away the pumpkin silhouette. They are stored in the garage until next year. The carved pumpkin ended up in the chicken run. I cut it into smaller pieces for the chickens.
I have propagated three different kinds of tomatoes. Above is the largest one. I put it in a #5 nursery can. I gave it the name of "cherry banana" but thing I will call it "Banana Tomato".
A couple of days ago I put a two lady bugs on a pepper plant in house two. At least one of them is still there.
I put the first wire up for the tomatoes for next year. It wasn't long enough. I will have to wait another day.
I started putting up the Christmas lights. I have some rope lights for the front porch. I used zip ties to hold the light to a half inch conduit. Last year I used twine. The zip ties made it a lot easier.
The lights around the dawn redwood. These are all LED lights.
I found more LED lights which I wrapped around some of the branches of the Red Bud tree.
The linden tree is decorated with lights wrapped around some large branches.
One blanket light and one string of lights cover the front of this yew shrub.
Tiger, our cat is setting on a branch of the red bud tree. I wrapped them a little earlier. I thing he feels she is in a safe place.
To night the phone is missing. We can't find it anywhere.

They Nursery on Thanksgiving day
We made preparation for Thanksgiving.
The Bray's are building a garage across the street and a little to the west. I will call it the Bray Garage hereafter. They poured concrete yesterday. It looks like the walls will be made of cement blocks.
Richard was here yesterday. He as been making knives out of flint and with handles out of antlers from deer or elk. It is about eight inches long.
The strawberry plants in house two are starting to flower. Just one flower now.
It was almost dark when we got home from Eagle Mountain.

Eagle Mountain, Thanksgiving, and Family
This morning we made preparations for Thanksgiving dinner hosted by April and Eric Johnson. Yesterday. we made two pumpkin pies and boiled sixteen eggs for deviled eggs. Why are the called deviled eggs? A quick search of the internet yields a long historical history of deviled eggs. The short answer is: Traditionally hot spices were mixed into the mashed yoke. Hence, it was a representation of hell, the domain of the devil.
After breakfast this morning we removed the shell. We mashed the yolk, cut the egg in half length wise. Carol mixed mayonnaise and mustard with the yolk. Some of the shells were difficult to remove which ended up with half white that didn't look pretty. I didn't get a picture of the finished dish.
It rained most of the way to Eagle Mountain and in some places in Utah county there was a hard rain. When we arrived at the home of Eric and April, we did the usual hugs and visited some. The dinner was to be served in the basement which has a large family room. Two more tables plus a serving table was added to what is picture above. Eric and Lisa brought the extra tables and some chairs.
The photos below are snapshots that I took during the time that we were there.
Paityn has her Halloween broom horse.
Hannah in her beautiful thanksgiving dress. Paityn was wearing one just like it.
Tai and Chase patiently waiting to fill their plate. The turkey was not done when expected.
Britney and Dax enjoying themselves.
Everyone filled their plates. This was the east end of the table. Patrick, his mother, and sister, Madiline, but called Maty is on the left.
Oliver on the left, then Patrick, Emily holding Maty, and then Eric and April's nanny.
Dalston Wells and Jeanne on the right.
Sadye on the left sitting next to Jeanne.
The three Gray brothers. Skyler, Tai, and Chase. Dax was in another picture.
Robert, April, Hannah, and Eric.
Again, Patrick and Maty, and April's nanny.
John Lewis, Emily's husband and Carol.
Lisa and Eric Gray and John Lewis. The top of Robert's head is in the front of the picture.
Britney, Dax, Emi, and Lisa.
Dalston Wells, Britney and Dax
Jared and Hallie Gooch and Maison.
