Furnace Filter

It was around six thirty when I got up.  I showered, shaved, and did my prayers.  Carol got up; I fed the cats.  Carol started the wash.  I started breakfast.  A little after breakfast I went to the post office to get the mail.  When I got back, I watched three TV shows.  While I was watching, Carol made a batch of chicken noodle soup.  It was so good that I had two bowls of it.   

After lunch I, went under the house and removed the furnace filter.  The furnace was running while I was doing it.  I quickly inserted the new filter.  I put duct tape on the part that sticking out.  I covered all of the edges.  We watched more TV.

The chicken feeder in the hen house was getting low.  I filled it with more laying pellets.  I also found one egg.  Carol and I went for a ride around town.  Not much left to do other than watch TV the rest of the evening.  Carol does a lot of reading during the day.

New Snow

I really slept in this morning.  Carol turned on my light.  I quickly showered, dressed, and said my prayers.  I didn't take time to shave. There was about two inches of the white stuff.  Carol showered while I fed the cats and prepared breakfast.  I turned on the TV to watch the morning news.  Even though there was snow on the dish, there still was a good signal.  I always have old fashion oatmeal mush.  I did the toast and cooked the eggs.  I fried Carols and scrambled mine.  

I found the snow shovel that was in the shed.  Last year the heat caused the blade to warp.  This year the blade resumed its original shape.  I scraped the snow off the driveway and the sidewalk. I made a pathway through the snow to all of the greenhouse except house one.  I didn't want to get the mail until the snow had melted some.  I watched two TV shows.   After that it was time for lunch.  Post office was closed for lunch.  I watched a murder mystery. When I left at two, most of the snow had on the roads melted.  I fed the casts at four.  The watched more TV and TV news.

Yesterday and this morning I was watching a discussion on third Nephi in the Book of Mormon.  The above message by James E. Talmage was quoted.  I thought that it would be worth posting.  

Shopping Fillmore

I slept in again.  I got up in time to shower and shave.  I started another batch of old fashion oatmeal mush.   Fed the cats.  They are aways hungry, I then turned on the TV to watch the morning news.  Carol got up and started the wash.  I put the household garbage in the trash can in the garage and put it in the trunk.  One load in the washer was put in the dryer.  We then to the garbage to the dump and then drove to Fillmore.  We looked at the home that Andy Bray is building.  It is north of the gas station and west of the road.  We bought gas at the Mavrick station.  We bought groceries at the Fillmore market.  We bought some to take it to the church for a donation for the food bank.  The DUP is getting some to give to some a needy family in Holden.  We had lunch which consisted of left over from Thursday's Thanksgiving dinner.  I watered the plants that are in the garage.  Later I checked the oil level in the car. I added a half quart of oil.  It has been too cold to work outside.  The rest of the evening was watch TV.

Sunday

 

It was late last night when we went to bed.  My bed was covered with boxes that contained the Christmas decorations.  It took me quite a while to put the boxes away so I could go to bed.  I woke up several times to go to the bathroom.  At five, I got up and started the roast.  I was back in bed in ten minutes.  It was thirty when I got up. I fed the cats.  Carol got up and we prepared some vegetables for dinner.  I read the priesthood meeting lesson.  I put on my Sunday clothes and went to choir practice.  After practice I went back home for Carol.  The sacrament and priesthood meetings went well.  We had a supper good dinner. The rest of the day we were watching various TV shows.

Robert/Furnace

This normal day ended with some strange happenings.  I will explain that later on.  Robert called yesterday that he would visit today.  I had picked up the mail at the post office.  I didn't watch the Saturday morning programing. It was about 11:30 when Robert got here. We got the decorations and put them in the driveway.  Robert went right to work. I brought out most of the extension cords.  There is a shrub on both sides of the front porch.  Robert got a pair of clippers and went to work trimming the shrubs.  I found another pair, but they were so loose, they wouldn't cut anything.  I tried to fix them, but I couldn't tighten the nut. 

He helped me move this sprayer.  It was outside of house three.  We pulled it around to the front of house three.  We put inside and moved out of the way.

We have a lot of strings of lights.  Robert tested the string of lights to make sure all lights worked. He put several strings on this shrub which is in the kidney.  We drove to Fillmore and bought three mexican dinners.  We brought them home and set around the table of lunch.

He covered the lilac and forsythia with lights.  Robert was such a big help. We went in all of the greenhouse. We all of the totes away and then he went home.  It was nearly time to feed the cats.

The cats try to get at the food any way they can.  One cat had his back feet on the bucker and was eating out of the large frying pan.  He looked up at me when I took the picture.

Carol and I watched some TV for a while.  It was getting dark, and the house was getting a little cold.  I looked at the thermostat and it seemed to me that the battery was dead.  I put in a new battery and that didn't help.  I went under the house where the furnace was to see if there was a reset button. I have a lamp by the furnace.  The light didn't come on.  There was no power.  I went into the laundry room there braker is.  The furnace was shut off.  I then went under the house.  The lamp was on.  I shut it off.  Still no power to the furnace.  I went back under the house again and found a small black switch.  It was in the off position.  I turned it to the on position and furnace started.  So thankful that the furnace was working.  It didn't take long for the house to warm up.  We watched TV the rest of the evening.

Christmas Tree

Our bedtime last night was pretty early. Usually, it is late when we go to bed.  I made a couple of trips to the bathroom.  Richard went to sleep on the couch in the front room.  I got up to see if he had left, but it was too dark.  I checked the back door.  If he had left, he would have unlocked the door.  I opened the door. His truck was still in the driveway.  I turned up the heat and showered, prayers, and shaved. I checked the back door again.  He was gone.  I started the mush and then fed the cats. I started breakfast. By now Carol was up.  She started the washing.  I cooked breakfast.  It was 9:30 when I went to the post office.  Richard called and said that he was in Delta.  He had shot a coyote.  His boss called and said that he had to go to work.  Richard came home and picked up his clothes.  He wasn't at all happy about going back to work.  He brought the Christmas tree that was in the garage and brought it into the house.  We watched two TV shows and then had lunch.  It was mostly the leftovers from Thanksgiving at Lisa's house.  This afternoon I brought the Christmas decorations into the house and started to hang the bulbs.

Robert called and said that he would probably visit us tomorrow.  Carol wanted to hand all of the decorations on the tree.  That is what we did until it was dark. I did check the greenhouse to see if the water was running.  It was.

The artificial tree came in four parts.  I put them all together and turned on the lights.

I put the skirt under the tree.  It covered the tree stand. We put every decoration that Carol has on the tree.

When we finished with the decorations, there was quite a mess.  I vacuumed it all up.

Dinner in Layton

We were late getting to bed last night.  When I got up, Richard was gone.  He drove over to the Meadow hot springs.  However, he was back for breakfast.  Richard took Carol and I to Lisa's house for Thanksgiving dinner.  The traffic was not a problem.  It seemed like we drove forever before we got there. We stopped in American Fork on the way to pick up his friend, Landon.   We then drove on until we got to the exit in Layton.  We made a wrong turn and drove around Layton until we found Lisa's street. It took quite a while to find her house.  

We went in got hugly greetings.  I got a picture of this cat.  It was born at our place years ago.

After a good dinner we started on our way home.  We quickly made our way to the freeway going south. We took Landon back home and then back to the freeway.  We had one more stop.  We had some left-over food to give to her.  It took us quite a while to find her place.  She and her friend have a small apartment in this rich neighborhood.  We parked in the street next to her apartment.  We went in and gave the bags of food.  She showed up the five pups that she was selling.  We then drove the rest of the way home,  We had a little of the leftover food.  We then watched some TV.   Richard went into the front room and went sleep on the couch.  He was still there when we went to bed. Carol covered him with a small blanket.  We watched some late news and then went to bed.

Lawn Mowed

It was late when I got up this morning.  I started my old-fashioned oatmeal mush.  I then fed the cats.  They act like they haven't had anything to eat.  I turned on the TV news and then started breakfast.  I had an appointment to have my hair cut.  I thought it was at three, but I wasn't sure.  I called Karen.  She told to come at 10:30. That was about an hour later. I picked up the mail and came home.  I then went to her home for my hair cut.  There was a lady there having the curlers removed and having her hair combed.  I got in the chair, and she cut my hair.  I forgot to take some money. I went back home, and Carol gave me $10.00.  I went back and gave the money to Karen.  I was invited in and had a short visit her husband, Ted.  He had back surgery.  It was time for lunch when I got home.

I started rake up the leaves.  But decided mow up the leaves.   After lunch I started up the lawn mower.  The two front tires were quite low.  

I carefully drove back to the garage. and turned on the compressor and filled the tires.  I filled the gas tank with gas and added a little motor oil to the engine.

I mowed and dumped leaves for over three hours.

I blew off all the leaves on the patio, my hands were so cold that I couldn't hold the camera still.  I wanted to get pictures of the front and back lawns, but my hands were too cold to hold the camera.

Later this evening, Richard came. He is taking us to Layton for Thanksgiving dinner with Lisa.  Carol fixed a good dinner this evening. After dinner, we watched some TV.

Visit Dr. Twice

I slept and slept this morning.  I quickly showered and got dressed.  It was a little after seven when I turned on the TV.  I fed the cats while watching the news.  I got breakfast ready.  Carol got up and then we had breakfast.  I took my towels to be washed and then discovered that it was Tuesday instead of Wednesday.  I took them back to my bathroom and hung them on the towel rack.   I left for my appointment with Doctor Grose.  I stopped at Roper's and spoke to Mike about the glue that I bought there and how well it worked.  It was ten when I walked into the office.  I was soon taken into the examination room.  I waited there for twenty minutes or so.  The doctor was late because of an emergency at the hospital.  I won't go into details of the exam.  I went to my insurance agent to get a better understanding of my policies.  I went to the post office for mail.  There wasn't any.

It was nearly time for lunch when I got home.  I ate some more of the casserole.  We went back to the clinic for the appointment that Carol had.  Her appointment was with Doctor Allen, a heart specialist. We then went to the Fillmore Market and spent $100.00 for groceries.  Carol made fried potatoes and fried onions for supper.  They were really good.  I also had some peas that we cooked yesterday.

The rest of the evening was watching TV.

Monday Morning

It was late when we went to bed.  I got up several times for the bathroom but went back to sleep.  When I did get up, I had time to read the next chapter from the Book of Mormon.  I looked at some of   internet news.  I fed the cats.  Carol showered.  She washed and dried all of the sheets.  We made her bed.  I went to the post office and got the mail.  We made my bed and then watched two TV shows.  For lunch I had some more of the casserole with cheese.

I took pictures of the water pipes.  All were running okay, bbuut were covered with ice.  This is the south end of house two.

I spent most of the afternoon trying to get the software for the zebra printer. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do it.  The rest of the evening was watching TV.

Sunday Morning

 

It was late when we went to bed last night. I slept in.  When I got up, I turned on the radio for Sunday Morning music.  I started cooking my old fashion mush.  I fed the cats.  And then cooked breakfast.  After breakfast I made tapioca pudding.  I went to choir practice.  We were going to sing in sacrament meeting.  Practice went well.  I left practice early to get Carol and bring her to Church.  The speakers did a good job, and the choir sang the closing song.  I removed my dentures and put them in my pocket.  I put them back in my mouth during the closing prayer.  Sunday school teacher was well prepared.  We came home to a good dinner.  After dinner we watched the channel eleven church programs. The rest of the evening was watching the news.

This afternoon I checked the water on all of the greenhouses.  Water was running.  I forgot to take my phone for pictures.

I took the shop vacum to the garage.

Carol cooked a pizza for supper, I put my teeth back in my mouth and had no trouble eating the crusty pizza.

Healing

 It is another cold morning.  I showered, but I forgot to shave. I read the next chapter in the Book of Mormon. There were two large blood clots in my mouth.  One was earlier this morning and one later.  I picked up the mail.

More Tests

We were at the Provo Utah temple where all of my health problems began.

When I talked to my doctor yesterday, he told me to take two more tests.  I went to the hospital where the test will be given.  She, Bobbett, couldn't find the order.  She called the clinic several times and no one answered the phone.  I drove over to the clinic.  There was no one there.  

No wonder the phone wasn't answered.  She came in while I was standing there.  The doctor hadn't arrived yet.  I said that I would go home and come back later.  She said that he would be here in five minutes.  I waited, still nothing.  Finally, she woke me up and gave me the lab orders.  I took them back to the hospital.  The nurse drew some blood and wanted a stool sample.  I was able to get one.  I then went home.  I was gone awhile before I got home.

I checked on the chicken.  I gave them some more hen pellets,

We had mashed potatoes and hamburger patties for lunch.  I made the patties and slowly cooked them.  They tasted really good.  I had some tomato slices.  Tomatoes halfway through November is pretty remarkable.   It has been a cold day.  We watched TV the rest of the evening.

Past Out

I woke up this morning and my bedroom clock was off.  I got up and felt my way to my bedroom door and moved down the family room and turned on the emergency light.  Carol was awake. It was about 8:30 in the morning.  I put my phone under my pillow so I could check the time.  The power came back on.  It was twenty minutes too early to get up.  I couldn't get back to sleep, I got up any way.  I showered and shaved and put on my Sunday suit.  I read another chapter from the Book of Mormon and posted it on Face Book.  I fed the cats and prepared breakfast.  It was about 7:30 when we left Holden for the Provo temple in Provo.  We were going to do ceilings and then a session after.  There was Carol and I and two women who were sisters and besides the ceiler there was another man.  I was at the alter and an odd feeling came up on me. I fell backwards and went to the floor.  A man from the temple, who handles emergency came.  They put my feet up and I laid there for a short while. I then wanted to sit on a chair. He walked with me to the elevator.  He constantly mentioned that I should take my time.  We met Carol before removed my temple clothes.  He walked with me to the car which was at the far end of the parking lot.  I drove back to the loading and unloading area.  Carol got in the car and drove straight home.  Carol made an appointment to see my doctor.  It was for 2'Oclock. 

The nurse took a whole bunch of blood samples.  I had to pee in a cup.  I then was given an EKG.

We filled the car with gas at the Fillmore Mavrick, and then drove home.  I had a large bowl of soup for super.  We watched TV until we went to bed. It about 10:30.

House Five Cleaning

Read from the Book the of Mormon and posted comments on Face Book.  After breakfast I got the mail and there was a lot of it.  I watched two channel 44 programs.  Then it was time for lunch. After lunch I checked the greenhouses.  There were no frozen pipes. I looked in house six and thought that I could grow some cold hardy vegetables.  Such as peas, onions, beets, chards, etc. 

This is what it looks like in the front of house five. Sometime last year Shane and his girlfriend found five kittens nesting in root control bags.  They moved the bags out of the way to get at the kittens.  They couldn't find one of the kittens.  This afternoon I put all of the bags next to the north wall of house five.

It looks a lot better now. I decided that it would be much easier to grow some hardy vegetables.

I rolled up the black poly that covered most of the west end of house five.  I rolled it to the south side.

I got the square sprinkler and started to water the ground.  I wanted the weed seeds to germinate before I planted any vegetables. 

The water was spraying on the edges of the square.  I got the yellow sprinkler.  That didn't help much. I put the square sprinkler back on and moved every hour.  I moved it three times.

I took all of the house garabage to the dumpster. There was one bag and one large black plastic bag.

Back to greenhouse five. That whole area was good and wet. I turned the water down to just a trickle so the pipe wouldn't freeze.  We had some warm over supper and watched more TV.  We are going to the Provo temple in the morning.
