This morning we drove to Fillmore for Carol's therapy.  Car was cold, but we drove the freeway, so wee got there a little sooner.  I got a few groceries and then went back to the Revere building.  I sit in a chair close to Carol and she trained on the different pieces of equipment.
There are lady bugs on the Hemp plant eating aphids.  The photo above shows the one of the hep plant with a lot of lady bug.
A close-up of the geranium with the first true leaf.
Here is the three trays.

We are attaching grab bars to the the bathtub walls.
We are trying to find the studs that are next to the tub.  I found them in the little bedroom.  Richard remove the larger mirror pictured above off the wall.  the sheetrock was removed between two studs to make a medicine cabinet.  We then measured from the stud to the east and found a place where there should be a stud.
I drilled a hole and no stud.  The black mark in the photo above shows where I drilled the hole.  Richard drilled one lower down.  It also missed.

I have made You Tube videos.  We had fun watching them on the large TV screen.  We watched for over a half hour.

Therapy Last Day This Year

Carol had a physical therapy at eleven this morning in Fillmore.  Carol drove and left her cane in the car.  The sun was shining and the car was not quite as cold.  She walked into the Revere building without cane.  I got in the car and and bought a few groceries.  I came back and sit near the apparatus where Carol was exercising.   On the way home we stopped at the post office.  No mail except for the weekly newspaper.

This afternoon Annalee Church and her husband Gary stopped by for a visit.

Richard was helping me install the grab bars around the bath tub in the bathroom.  I drilled a hole through a piece of tile to see how well I could do.  It was fairly easy,  There is two grab bars.  A smaller one and one that is larger.  We, Richard, Carol and I put the bar in several places until we decided where to put it.  One would be above the taps and the longer one would be at and angle on the east wall.   I drilled a hole hoping that we would hit a chip board, but there wasn't one.  We drove to Fillmore to find an eight inch lag bolt.  There wasn't one at Roper's.   We got three hamburgers and some fries on the way home.

Winter Snow Storm

The date is really 29 December  Not 30 December.

It snowed snowed all night and from looking at the garage roof, it looked like there would be four to five inches of powder. After breakfast a called Murdock Hyondia motors to figure out why there was the orange engine icon showing on the dash.  I wanted a phone number of someone in the service department.  They wanted a chatting correspondence.  I didn't want it.  I finally asked about the icon, and they gave me a phone number.  I called the number and one of the answers was the gas cap was loose.  I opened the garage door and unlocked the gas cap cover.  It was not tight.  I tightened it then started the car.  The icon was still there.

And to my surprise Wade Lemon and three of the boys from the ranch were shoveling the snow.  After about and hour they removed the driveway and sidewalk snow.  There was a little left next to the road which I removed.  Someone came back later with a tractor pushed off the snow if the front driveway.
A view from the garage looking north.
A view from the road looking south to garage.
The face of the nativity is covered.  It gives them a ghost appearnce.
The bird feeder has been empty for several days.  It was covered with snow.  I cleaned it off and filled it inside the garage.  The birds soon found it.
The snow between house six and five.  Snow is sliding off house five on the right.
This is a small juniper tree covered with snow.
The TV reception was good this morning, but by lunch time the dish was covered with snow.  I have a broom on a stick.  It has a long handle and I can reach it.  The dish used to be at the top of the roof.  I had to climb a ladder and could just barely reach it.
The geraniums are doing well.
The true leaves are beginning to emerge.
I was looking at the new postings on Instagram, and found this phot of Leo.  It is Holden's youngest son.  He has three boys.  I wanted to make a print of Leo, but Instagram wouldn't let me.  I took this screen shot, and it turned out better than I thought it would.  I might print it.

Car Trouble

There was a forecast for snow today, but when I got up this morning there was none.  After breakfast there was none.  We needed some groceries, So I headed for Fillmore.  The car usually warms up by the time I get to the freeway entrance, but this morning it didn't.  As I was on the freeway, the temperature needle continued to raise.  It was near the the top of the gage as I excited and the needle move to a more normal position.  I pulled in front of Deardon auto and lifted the hood.  I couldn't see anything unusual.  I went inside soon was able to tell Richard Deardon the problem.  He said that he would take a look at it.

I waited and waited and finally Richard got the car and drove it in to the garage.  He told me that the anti-freeze that went to the heater leaked out.  I waited some more.  They needed a part from CARQUEST.  About twenty minutes later the part was delivered.  About a half hour later the part was installed and I was able to take the car.  There is not heater in the car.  I got the groceries and drove home on the frontage road.  We had lunch.
I took another picture of the geraniums.  There are no true leaves.
I forgot to crop this photo. Day Number six

Shane, Justin and his son were putting the second poly on house four.  It was really cold.  They had the north side fixed with the wiggle wire.  They started on the south side when I left.  A around three Carol drove to the Revere Building where Carol had a therapy sessions.   She is getting stronger.  The roads were pretty slushy on the way home.  It is cold inside the car without a heater.

Not Much Today

Richard left before breakfast this morning for Duchesne to visit with a friend.  We were a little late getting breakfast.  Carol got in the shower this morning.  She hasn't been the tube since her knee operation over a month ago.  She was glad to get cleaned up.   Our experience with ZOOM and sacrament meeting was not a good experience.  We had to pay close attention and have the laptop close to us as we could get.  The Tayler and Tyler and section one went very well.

Carol finished her puzzle that she got for Christmas.  Lunch was left overs from yesterday when Robert was here.   I took a couple of photos of the geraniums in house two.

I cropped the above photo a little to much.  day five
They are doing well.  They are two to three weeks behind the ones that we have planted several years ago.

We had tithing settlement with Bishop Gates over the phone.   I called Richard to find out where he was.

The Day After

I watched some of my Saturday morning wood working show.  They were reruns, but I got a few ideas that I could use in my shop.  Robert and Jeanne are coming for dinner.  We worked on the dinner preparations.

Carols legs are causing her a lot of pain, but she kept right on getting things ready.  I mailed a letter.   I didn't get any photos.  This is one time for good family photos.  Robert and Jeanne brought some Christmas presents and we gave our presents to them.

For dinner we had ham, masked potatoes, fresh peas fr\om the garden to the freezer and then to our table, Jello and pumpkin pie.  Everything was good.  I did most of the dishes.  I showed Robert the you tube video about the boogie woogie.  He tried to do it.  I thought that he would pick it up supper fast, but he couldn't.  It takes a lot of practice.  We watched a lot of videos of the  the boogie woogie.  We then watched some Christmas music.

First picture is of the three trays.
This is a close-up of the center tray.  Nine seeds or less in each row.  Day # 3

They left for home.

Christmas

As soon as everyone was up, we met in the front room where we opened presents.
We unwrapped our presents.  There were quite a few.  It was pretty fun getting the gifts.
This afternoon I checked on the geraniums that are in house two.  This is day two.  They are coming nicely.
A close up where we might be able to count them.  There are ten rows in each tray and ten seeds in each row.  This is day two.
Melissa and Derek called.
I called Robert, he and Jeanne are will be here about twelve tomorrow.
I called Elizabeth; she wasn't home but called as soon as she got home.  She has been at work.  She and Noah are doing well.
Dax called and thanked us for the Christmas present that we sent them.
Richard has been gone all day, but he is home now.
This seems like a boring day.  Years ago when we had young children, Christmas was much more exciting for us.

Geranium Seedlings

Richard left early this morning hunting coyotes.  He got a couple of foxes and sold them to his friend.  Not much going on this morning.

Carol finished her hot air balloons puzzle this morning.  She has a knack of picking up a couple of puzzle pieces and putting them in the right places in different parts of the puzzle.
Richard and I planted the geranium seeds a week ago today.   I went out to water them this morning and was pleasantly surprised.  The seeds had germinated.
There should be ten rows of ten seeds in each row.  We may have to wait awhile to be able to see all new plants.
I have been working on a hand pushed snow plow.  I doubled up the sides and top and bottom to make it stronger.  I have a piece of oak almost ready to put it together.  I need to plane the plow part.

Here is the first photo of the gemmating geraniums.

Carol has been sleeping on her mattress since her knee surgery.  Lisa and I took the box springs off the bed frame.  we put a lot of boards to take the place of the box springs.  We put the mattress on the boards.  That put her bed a lot lower so she could easily go to bed.  This afternoon Richard and I removed the boards and put the box springs back on the bed frame.  Carol washed the sheets and pillow case.

Last Shopping

Carol's therapy was at eleven this morning.  She drove to the Revere building.  She got out and I stopped a Stewart Electric for a few minutes.  Then I bought some grabber nails at Ropers.  I then went back to Carol where she was doing her physical therapy.  I watched here for about twenty minutes and took some photos,   All of the activities that she does is to strengthen her muscles.

I don't know the name of them.  She done others before I got there.

This one is to help her walk up and down steps.

After she had finished we stopped at the Fillmore Market and bought a few things to munch on for a couple of days.   I also got two bags of ice and found out that one in the red cooler and one in the large cooler.  Now I have three full bags and a part bag.  I put ice on Carol's leg.

I worked on the snow pusher.  I glued some of the parts together  yesterday and made some braces today.  I glued some together and will finish the rest tomorrow.

Not Much Today

I adjusted the mirror some for this photo
I removed all of the soaps and shampoos for the picture
One of the rollers on the left side of the bottom tray was loose.  With pliers and a small wrench I was able to tighten it.

I worked some in the garage on my wooden snow pusher which was broken.  The wood split and I glued it together.  It is waiting for me to finish it tomorrow.

Early in the morning like one AM, The furnace in house four quite.  A couple of people were for an hour or more were trying to fix it.  When I looked at it this morning, it look like it was fixed.

Richard was gone all day shopping.   He came home about seven.

A Lot of Surprises

I fed the cats.  There are always a couple of cats and kittens are late for their morning meal. We had a late breakfast this morning.  I took care of the chickens.  I tried to tune into You Tube, but couldn't.  I called Lisa.  Tai was still sleeping.

I went to the post office.  There was a letter for Richard.  The town has been working on an expansion to the post office.  I took a picture a couple of days ago which was to fuzzy to use.  I got a good one this morning.  I will continue taking pictures as the walls, windows, and roof are built.

Tai called a little later and gave me directions to got the TIVO STREAM working properly.

Richard helped me take one of the bathroom mirrors off the wall.  I cut off the legs.  We maeasured the mirror to determine how high to hang the mirror.  I located the studs and Richard drove in the screws.   We used some tie wire tied it to the screws in the side of the mirror support.  It looks pretty good.
Carol went to the Revere building for her physical therapy this afternoon.  She drove and walked into the building.  I didn't have to help her.  She opened the door and went in.  I stopped at Stuart Electric to talk to Dan about my TIVO STREAM.  He looked it up Amazon and there was the picture of what I got.

I got six dry wall inserts.  The next stop was groceries at the Fillmore market and then gas at Maverick.  I had to enter the zip code before I could turn the pumps on.  I couldn't see the key pad.  I tried a couple of times and then tried to get a pump where the sun was shining.  Those pumps were busy.  I found a small flash light in the car and was able to enter the ZIP code.  I got the gas.  Carol was waiting for me.  I was ten minutes late.

I picked up some books at the Book Barn for Carol.  Lisa, Tai, and Emi were parked in the driveway.  They are going to Baker Nevada to watch the the Star Display.  Tai helped some with the TV before they left.  Carol and I watched some TV shows and a little of the news.  The sun had gone down.  We went out to the dump which is higher  than the road.  We watched the Star for about forty-five minutes and then came home.

Sunday/TV Fixed

Carol to her breakfast to the table where she was putting a puzzle together.  He milk tipped over on to part of the puzzle.

We quickly wiped up the milk with towels and paper towels.  The puzzle pieces where put dry paper towels.  By the end of the day she got it put together and all the pieces were dry.

As soon as breakfast was over we started to prepare dinner.  We had spare ribs that needed to be coated with barbeque sauce and rapped in foil.  I wrapped six potatoes with foil and one sweet potato to be baked with the ribs.  We also had sweet corn from the garden to the freeze to the pan on the stove.

I turned on ZOOM this morning and got connected to Sacrament meeting.  We couldn't hear at first.  After a while we were able to hear a little.  The  sister speakers were shorter than their husbands, therefore they were closer to the mike.  The husband being taller were further away from the mike.  They  were more difficult to hear.  I made some changes.  When the singing started we could here through our connected speakers.  The screen froze and there was a long pause.  We took the sacrament.  I blessed the bread and Richard blessed the water.

After that I tried to find the You Tube channel on our modified TV.  I turned it on and found the channel, and listen to a couple of The Tabernacle Choir numbers, but couldn't find Tayler and Tyler.  We watch them every Sunday, but on my lap top computer which is pretty small.  I talked to tie on the phone who told me how to do it.  We then listened to him for about forty-five minutes.  I paused the TV and we had lunch.

After dinner I turned the TV back on and finished the program.  We have had people come by and gave us some goodies to eat.  We watched BYU TV for serval hours.  It was all spiritual Christmas music. I enjoyed all of it.  We went for a ride to check out the rear view camera that Eric and Tie installed.  A little disappointed.  It didn't show any thing in front or in back after we got out of the garage.  We came back are now watch "The Sound of Music" on TV.

What a Day

Not going to go much into detail about this morning.  I did everything that I usually do.  I wanted to connect with TIVO  STREAM.  After my wood working shows were over,  At the end she said that I would get an email about what I should do.  I was in the garage feeding and watering the chickens. I connected to VIVO.  There were a lot of codes that I entered.  Nothing work.  I finally found a number to call.  I called and was on the phone and got to talk to a real person.  She told me what to do and I did it.  It didn't work.  Our conversation was back and forth for one hour and fifteen minutes.   At the end she said that I would get an email about what I should do.

As soon as I hung up the phone and the phone rang.  It was David Wood.  He was on his way to help me print photos with the desk top computer.  I think that he was here for and hour.  He fixed it so I could print and to photos from my lap top.  By then it was time for lunch.  I ate a two pieces of chicken and made me a sandwich with cheese and baloney between two pieces of toast.

Later in the afternoon I dug some carrots.  The raised bed was covered with frozen snow.
I removed the poly cover and some of the Styrofoam insulations.  I pulled a nice bunch of carrots.  Lisa, Eric, Tie and Emi drove up the driveway.  Emi sixteen teeth removed.  Her jaws were swollen and she was in some pain.  They brought some presents.  One of them was a rear view device for backing up and traveling.  We will go for a short drive tomorrow afternoon.

Eric and Tie went out to the garage and began the installation.  It took them about three hours to do that.   After they finished Tie came in and hooked the TIVO STREAM to our television.  I think that it took him about twenty minutes to make the connestion.

Planting Geraniums

Up early again this morning.  Read from the Book of Mormon.  The fixed breakfast with mush, boiled egg and fried eggs.  After breakfast I took the old printer and the house garbage to the dump.  Then I went with Carol to her physical therapy.  She drives now.

She worked on several pieces of equipment.  The one above was develop leg strength that would help her walking up and down stairs.

While she was in therapy I bought ear phones at Stuart Electric.  I stopped at Deardon Auto and talked to them about our car.  I visited with Tony Deardon for about a half hour.  They decided that my car needed a part that cost a little over $400.00.  I decided not to to that.

After lunch when it got a little warmer,  Richard and I planted the geraniums.  We took one of the bags of potting soil and a few tools to house five where it was fairly warm.  I set up a table where we could work.

I got four germination trays plus the web tray to hold it.  I smoothed the potting soil and marked ten rows in each tray.  We planted ten seeds in each row.
We were short about ninety seeds.  I don't know how that happened.  Each of us should have planted one packet of seeds in each tray.  Richard complained about picking up one seed and planting it.  I jokingly accused him of dumping the seeds on the ground.
We took them house two which is heated and placed the three trays on the floor near the south end.  I watered them with the watering can with warm water.
.
Carol wanted chicken wings from the Five Buch Pizza.  I phoned the order in and then drove to Fillmore.  There were four cars parked in front and it looked like there would be a bunch of people there.  I put on my face mask and went in and found that I was the only customer.  There were two or three workers and they were busy removing pizza or wings from the oven.

This evening I called Dave Wood.  I still need help in printing photos.

Fix Dish Washer

Richard left this morning looking for bob cats, coyotes, cottontail rabbits or any other animal of interest.  He found the rabbits west of Kanosh.  He didn't get back until lunch time.  Meanwhile, Carol and I had breakfast.   A little later we went to the Fillmore Market for groceries.  Carol drove and parked close to the door.  I helped her out and parked the car.  She pushed a shopping cart up and down the isles picking things that we needed and putting them in the cart.

We stopped at the post office where we picked up some mail and made a short drive through Holden.  We were home a little after ten.  Richard came home with three skinned rabbits.  He coated them with salt and pepper, and flour.  He fried them for awhile.  I ate one of the leg and thigh.  It tasted good, but was really tough.  I chewed on them for a long time before I was able to swallow them.  Carol wouldn't try them.

I got a TIVO stream a week ago and proceeded to hook it up.  I followed the instruction and got it hooked up.  I followed the directions that was on the TV screen.  I quit and went back to the regular TV programing.  I wasn't able to finish.  Two rollers on the bottom rack in the dishwasher broke off.  We tried to bolt them back on but the bolts that we had were too small.

I needed potting soil for the geraniums.  I called Steve Regan at the Delta office.  They didn't have any small bags of potting soil.  I considered going to Steve Regan in Spanish Fork.  Richard suggested that we go to the Fillmore Shell for the soil.  I called them and they had some.  We drove to Fillmore.

We got two bags at the Fillmore shell.  They were frozen solid.  We then went to Roper's and got a couple of bolts that seemed to be the right size.
We came home and fixed the bottom dishwasher tray.  The tray easily rolled in and out.

Supper was pancakes, eggs, sausage.

Two or Three Days

December 15, 2020 Tuesday

I didn't write anything the last couple of days.  I bought a new printer at the Walmart in Springville and when we got back about 3:30 and I spent all the evening trying to hook it up to my computer.  It had snowed the day before and on Tuesday morning it snowed again.

Richard cleaned the snow of the driveway and front sidewalk.
I cleaned a path for the chickens.
I don't remember why I took this photo.  It might be when Carol drove home, or when we got home from Provo.  A mystery.
Monday evening, the primary borrowed our Joseph, Mary, and the baby Jesus from our outdoor nativity.  It was dark when they brought it back.  They set it back up and still looks good.
Walmart Tuesday We left about 7:30 for Provo.  We were meeting Lisa at the Provo Sam's Club at nine. We were there about 9:10. We bought a lot of supplies.  I looked at videos of the road conditions all to nearly all the way to Provo.  The roads looked good.  No snow but a little wet.  But it snowed all the way.  There were some places where it was somewhat scary to pass a truck or car or be passed by a truck or car.  We, Richard and I rode to the Springville Walmart with Lisa.  We ate a chicken sandwich on the way.  We were there a long time and bought a lot of presents there including a printer. I took this picture showing a razor, a small battery operated scooter.

I got this photo with the new Wonder Woman.

We drove back to Sam's Club and said good-bye to Lisa.  I got a large calendar and then drove to Costco where I cashed in a $225.00 coupon.  We filled the car with gas and the to Harbor Freight to get a planer.  They didn't have one.   I was to get some potting soil at Steve Regan, but I forgot.  Richard drove the rest of the way home.
Home Tuesday Evening.  I took the printer out of the box and proceeded put it all together. I got it to print a pattern but that was all.

Wednesday morning we went to the Revere building where Carol was taking physical therapy.  She drove and also drove home. We had four packages to mail and I couldn't use the printer to print the address labels.  Carol had to write them on a large sticky label and I taped it to the boxes.  We took them to the post office and now they are one the way the intended recipients.

I tried to take a picture of the addition that they are building an addition to the post office.  I got the selfie instead.  The photo of the addition was unclear.

Dave Wood spent nearly an hour hooking my new printer to the desk top computer.  Thanks, Dave.
