Screen is Fixed

Carol went to the Revere Health building where she had an appointment with Doctor Gross.  I took the car and paid for the rebuilt of my laptop computer  at Stuart Electric.  I told the story of the lost credit card.  I then went to Roper's hardware and got a couple of paintbrushes  and sanding circle, and got the repaired storm door screen.  We stopped at the drug store where Carol got some medication.

The is the fuzzy photo of the screen.  It wasn't light in the kitchen.
This afternoon I walked out to house five.  Shane was there with a young man  planting potatoes.  They were planting potatoes in root control bags that had grown stems that were about eighteen inches long.
I finished the last truss There are five now.

The ceiling joist wasn't long enough.  I added a small piece of wood to the ceiling joist.

Good Day at Manti

We were up early this morning, like 4:30, showered, shaved, put on our Sunday clothes.  We didn't have time to eat.  The drive went well. No deer and no accidents.  But there were a lot of trucks coming in the opposite direction.

I let Carol out and parked the car.  Our car was the only one in the close parking lot.  We were a little early.  There was someone in the on the inside.  It was cold outside.  He opened the door and let us in.  We waited there until a President Sperry came.  We showed our recommend and went on in.  We put on our white clothes and waited in the chapel.  Temple workers started to come in.  The meeting started.  Carol read the scripture.  We parted ways.  Carol went with a sister coordinator.  I went with one of our friends, Raymond Miller.  He showed us some of the changes.  Most of the dialog hasn't change.

We were allowed to go on the 11:00 session.  We observed and were prepared to help if needed.  On the way home we stopped in Salina and got an ice cream cone at the Top Spot.  It has been over a year since we stopped there for an ice cream cone.  The first word said to me was. "we don't have chocolate.  There were four or five workers in side that greeted me.  I took the ice cream cones back to the car.  A teenage setting at a table near the car, jumped up and opened the door for me.  Carols cone broke.  I hurried back and got a paper cup.  Carol ate mine and I ate hers which was in the cup.

We got home a little after two.  I put my church clothes away and put on my overalls.   I walked out to house five.  The tomato seeds have germinated.

It is a little hard to see,  But there are more seedling tomatoes.  I watered all of the six packs.

Credit Card Confusion

After breakfast I went out to greenhouse five.  The tomatoes are germinating.

Some of the tomato seeds I planted last week are beginning to germinate.  These Beef Stake are very tiny.
The Green Arrow peas are geminating.  It is easy to see them from the driveway.

I started to clean the chicken run for the small greenhouse south of the garage.  I had four trusses made.  I decided to make one more.  I got made when Carol called.  We then went to Fillmore.
We need gas and to pay for replacing my hard drive on my laptop.  I couldn't find my credit card.  I looked everywhere in the house and the garage and the car. I got a flashlight and looked under the seat of the car and found the credit card which was hidden by a piece of paper.

Late this afternoon we drove to Fillmore for gas.  I got out my credit card and the message in the window would not accept it.  I tried it several more times.  Still wouldn't work.  We went to a different pump and tried again.  Still wouldn't work.  I then went into the store.  It was the same story.  I gave the attendant a twenty dollar bill.  I ended up with about eight gallons of gas.  We stopped at Stuart Electric where I would pay for my laptop repair.  He did it two different ways.  One declined and other said that it was an invalid card.  We came home and went on line.  There were no charges that I did not make.  I don't know why but I pulled out my diver's license.  Behind the license was my credit card.

Quite a few years ago I bought something using my credit card at Home Depot.  The next time I went to use it, I couldn't find it.  We went back to Home Depot looking for my card.  I canceled my card.  The one I found in the car was the one I used today.
This is the photo of the no good card.

Sunday ZOOM

I was up early enough to read another chapter in the Book of Mormon.  I also watched a You Tube video on the same chapter that I read.

After breakfast we prepared for our Sunday dinner.  When it was getting time for Sacrament meeting to start I connected to ZOOM.  It went well.  We first were listening using attached speakers.  It was quite loud.  I tried to turn it down some, but that ended up muting the speakers.  The laptop speakers were loud enough.  At times it was a little hard to understand those that were bearing their testimonies.

We listened to Tyler and Tayler discuss Easter.

This evening we drove around town.  There were couples walking on almost every street in town.  Some we knew, and there were quite a few that we didn't know.  It was much warmer today.  All the snow was melted except some in the shade.

Surprise Visitors Again

After breakfast this Saturday morning, I watched the three wood working programs on TV.  The first two were reruns.  The third showed how to make a wall cabinet.

The surprise visitors.  Eric Gray, Chase Gray, Emi Gray, and Lisa Gray.

The pomegranate shrub is beginning to make a few leaves.  It has suffered drought, winter in the garage, and frost in the greenhouse.  I am hoping for new growth in the upper branches.
I dug weeds in house five and gave them to the chicken.
I sanded the plywood again.  I wanted to paint it, but paint need more stirring and I didn't have any brushes.

Lap Top is Fixed.

When I got up this morning there were ants all over the place.  I squashed them and put them in the sink.

The ants were terrible this morning.  They were on the floor, on the counters, and on the cupboards.

I woke up this morning to snow.  It snowed most of the morning.

Taken from the front door looking north.
Taken from the back door looking north at part of the driveway.

Yesterday, I took my laptop to have Dan Speakman at Stuart Electric to have it fixed.  He was going to put in a new hard drive and transfer all the folders and files.  I called this afternoon.  He said that it was fixed and left me a message.  I didn't see the message.  I drove to Fillmore to get it.  I stopped at Roper's to have the screen from the porch door fixed.  Then over to Stuart Electric.   I looked in my wallet for my credit card.  It wasn't there.  I picked up my laptop and parked near the curb and looked for my credit card.  I took out all my cards; the only card that I could find was from the credit union.  I went to Maverick to buy gas.  I couldn't get the credit union card to work.  I then drove home.

I looked all over the house and car about three times trying to find it.  I then checked my City credit card account.  There were not any purchases listed that me or Carol had made.  I got my flash light and looked in the car again.  As I looked under the passenger seat, I saw the card which was partly covered by a piece of paper.  What a relief that was.

Robert was going to help me build a greenhouse one the south end of the garage.  I called him to tell him not to come because of the snow and mud.  We will try it next week end.

Slow Laptop

Carol had an appointment with dermatologist this morning at 9:30.  We left home a little after nine and drove the Revere building.  She went in and I went to Zion's bank to pay of our house mortgage.

When I got back, she was still waiting.  I went in with her.  The dermatologist removed a growth on the right side of her cheek.  It was the size of the tip of her little finger.
I turned the drawer shell upside down and put wood putty in the holes.  There were a lot of holes.

Finished the Planting

After breakfast we watched the TV news.  Later,  We looked at a video of this person who was going to prove that the Book of Mormon was false.  It turned out that she felt the spirit and accepted it as the word of God.

I got an early start on planting.  I did three trays yesterday and finished the fourth this morning.  Planted a couple of six packs of Beef Steak to many.  I planted one six pack of Jalapeno, and stuck in a label.  Then two six packs of Anaheim.
I covered the seeds and stuck in the rest of the labels.
I pulled up a small bunch of radishes.  I took them to the house and cleaned them and cut of the radish and boiled them for about thirty minutes.
I drained them, put them in a mush bowel and salted and buttered them.  They tasted really good.  Carol said that they stunk.  A couple of days ago I boiled some and forgot them.  The water boiled out and turned the pan black.  It took hours of scrubbing to get the pan looking better.
The crew put down weed barrier in house three.
And more in house six.  They are going to build benches in houses four, five, and six for hemp plants.
The above photo of the four trays on two heating pads.
Closeup of the trays.

I started building a extension self for the cupboards.  I sanded it and filled the holes with Elmer's wood putty.

Serious Planting

Yesterday was Sunday.  I didn't take any pictures.  We watched ZOOM for sacrament meeting.  The video was good, but no Audio.  We could hear the meeting on my smart phone.  It wasn't very loud, and the audio didn't sync with the video.

A cold morning.  There was ice in the cat water.  After breakfast I went out to house five. Carla, Shane, and some one else was there.

I filled a tray of twelve six packs with potting soil.  I used a spoon to press down the soil in each cell.
After planting one seed in each cell, I lightly covered the seeds with a little bit of soil.  I firmed the soil against the seeds.  I made labels with the old computer in the little bedroom.  I stuck them to old plastic labels.  On tag in tach six pack.
Here is another try.
I had to make more labels.  I was in the little bedroom making labels when the power went out.  It was out for about one half hour.  It came back on and I forgot all about it.  Just before the 5 O'Clock news I remembered.  I couldn't find the file I needed where I keep the labels.  There were a bunch of thumb nail images.  I checked each one out and couldn't find any thing.  I then run across folder that contained a lot of files.  I read the date and most were over ten years old.  I found a file that had todays date.  I opened it up and there were the labels I was looking for.
I went back to house five and finished planting the third tray/

I watered the three trays.  One more tray for tomorrow

Surprise Visit

After breakfast I watched the three woodworking shows that started at eight.  I got a few good ideas from the shows.  I watered our plants in house five.  I did some weeding in the garden.

At ten I picked up the mail.  My seed order was there.  The name of the seeds in the order is above.
I watered our plants in house five.  The potatoes are doing pretty good.    Nine root control bags with three potatoes planted in each bag.
I wanted to get a photo of the tractor.  I gave it to the hemp growers.  They are going to fix it.  It will be kept here or in Fillmore.  I haven't seen my by pass pruners.  I thought that I left them out all winter and wood find them as soon as the snow melted.  I found them.  They were on the tractor arm rests.
The lilac shrubs are starting to flower.  The forsythia tree above is loaded with flower buds.
Richard and his ex-wife was the surprise visitor.  He got his mail and a few other thing that were left in the little bedroom.  He was in Nephi when he call.  We visited awhile and then they went to Fillmore and to the hot springs west of Meadow.  They were here for about an hour when it started to snow.  There was a lot of rain and snow.  So good for the peas in the garden.

Quick Trip to Linden

I got up early, showered, dressed, and shaved.  I put on my nice clothes.  I spent some early time checking all You Tube videos of "Mother and Sun. I concluded that we have seen all of the and some twice.  I fed the cats and made three bowls of oatmeal mush.  After breakfast we went to the Payson Wal Mart.

I got this picture before we walked in.  I went for mouse poison.  Carol went for a toy.  The mouse poison was about as far away from where we walked in as we could get.  We bought a few things and went Sam's Club.  I didn't get a picture, but we bought a lot of kitchen supplies.
We then drove to Nyleen's house.  We gave her an Easter Lily and a container of chocolate covered nuts.  Miles cut my hair.  We then went to Costco in Spanish Fork.  I cashed in the my coupons. We then drove to the Payson Wendy's and ordered two junior hamburger, a drink, and a small order of fries.  We stopped at the Scipio Artic Circle for couple of ice cream cones. It was closed.  We then came home.

Finished the Trusses

Soon after breakfast we drove to Fillmore.  We got chicken feed, lay pellets and chicken scratch.  Then got in line for our second Covid shot.

We got on the end of the line where they checked our papers.  As cars moved a head of use we drove into the fire station.  Carol got shot first and then I got my shot.
We drove out to the west side of the station.  We were instructed to wait fifteen minutes to see if we had any adverse symptoms.  All of the cars that were a head of us were parked in several lines to the east of us.
Shane in the middle and Dustin on the left and his dad on the right.  They wanted to buy my tractor.  Carol didn't care.  So they are going to fix the tractor.  It would be here part of the time and in Fillmore part of the time.
I pulled some radishes that were growing in a tray in house five.  Carol ate one.  I put the rest in the fridge.  I think I will cook them tomorrow.

When we got back from Fillmore I went to work on building the tresses.  I finished one yesterday, and did three today.  I was kneeling most of the time cutting and screwing the parts together.  I leaned one plywood sheet against the side of the house.    I put the other piece of plywood on four cement blocks which made it much easier to cut and screw.   I made two more trusses before lunch and finished the fourth one after lunch.

Building Trusses

I spent most of the morning in the house.  It was wet and cold outside.  I let the chickens out.

I got an other photo of the remodel post office.  They are putting siding material in the gabled end of the post office.  I picked up the mail.
This afternoon I started building the trusses.  I was able to measure the angles with my speed square.  I cut the angles with my battery operated circular saw.  I sure like it.  I don't have to have and extension cord.  I did have change batteries.
I  put pieces of wood down to line up the rafters.  I ripped a 2x4 in half for the ceiling joists.
In the left hand corner there is a wooden block to maintain the 3/4 rise.  I cut wedge out of each end of the trusses. I drilled holes in the joists and drove in two screws.  I waxed the screws to make them drive more easy.  It pulled the two pieces tightly together.
This is a picture of the peak of the trusses.
Here is the first completed truss.

Some dog, or fox killed our red hen.   Our Tuesday morning coordinator called and invited us come back to the temple.  We will be studying the parts.
