Undecorating Tree/New Year's Eve.

After breakfast, I went out to the garage and got the box which was used to store the decorations on the front room Christmas tree.  Carol and I began the job of removing the ornament, the balls, the snowflakes, the ice cycles and angels, and a lot of other small items.  We put them in the proper boxes.  Everything fit in the large tote.  I took it back to the garage.

I pulled tree apart and put it on the family room floor.  There are three sections.  I squashed them the box which, for some reason was much easier that last year. I closed the box and Carol held it tightly together while I taped it together
We put it on its end and Carol twisted it back and forth sideways.  She stood it on a carpet, and I pulled it to the kitchen door.  I propped the door open, and she walked it down to the porch and then walked it down the steps and then into the garage.
We slid it into its spot to wait for another year.  There was a lot of boxes, and other junk

that we took to the dump.  The regular dumpsters were full.  Extra dumpsters were brought in.  We had lunch when we got home.  We watched western TV shows.  Carol was putting another puzzle together.
I was tired of watching TV shows.  I got the weed eater and started cutting weeds in house six.  I cut weeds for a couple of minutes; the battery died.  On the way back to the house, the battery appeared to be okay,
I cut for a couple more minutes and it died.  I put the battery on the charger.  I will cut more weeds Monday.
I fed the cats.  The above cat, One Ear, gets his mouth full of cat food and the takes down a couple of steps and eats it.  He goes back to get more.

Shopping

After breakfast I watched two programs. I removed snow from the front sidewalk and then pushed the snow off the driveway.  It was pretty easy.  Just as I finished, a truck drove onto the driveway.  A lady gets out of the truck and walks towards me.  I took her into the house and Carol took her into the front room.  She was there to take Carol's blood pressure.  She called a couple of days ago telling her that she would be here sometime between eleven and twelve.  She took her blood pressure and then left. We then drove to Fillmore for some groceries.  We came home and had lunch.  I ate some soup.

I took the weed eater and cut down some of the weeds on the east end of house six.  It got really dusty.  I opened the east door and uncovered a fan on the west end.  The above photo is the east end.
My back is to the east facing the west end.  I cut weeds part way down in the center.
This photo is facing the east end.  I fed the cats.  The rest of the evenings is watching TV.

Feeding the Birds

Dermatology

This is a usual type of morning.  Showered, shaved and prayers.  It snowed some during the night.  I fixed breakfast, and left for my 8:30 appointment.  The dermatologist wasn't there.  He came from Cedar City and by the time they got to Beaver, it was snowing.  Therefore they were late. I went right into the exam room.  The dermatologist froze the growths that I had on my face.

This is how the drivewway looked when I for up.
Two of my neighbors shoveled the snow off my sidewalk.
I started shoveling snow off my driveway. They came and shoveled off the rest of the snow.
The backyard is a picture of winter wonderland.  The hen house is behind me and I am facing the east.
I get a bill for Carol's life insurance.  I wrote a check for the payment.

Indoor Decorations

We watched two TV shows last night, but we started them a little earlier. I was up at about six, showered, shaved and said my prayers. and read the next chapter in the Book of Mormon. I wasn't able to post it until much later.  I watched two TV shows and then picked up the mail at the post office. It was raining some this morning.  We had lunch and then began putting the inside Christmas decorations away.  The first one was the nativity scene that was on the round table.  I took quite a while to get all of them in the box.  I got all of them except for one. There were other decorations that should have been put in their own box.  We finally got them put away.  We put Richard's mail in a large envelop and I took it back to the post office.   I was able to see my bed.  We watched another TV show.  I decided to put on my boots and trim the weeds in house six.  While I had on my boots, I opened the lid to the nests and got one egg.   I took out the weed eater and started cutting weeds.  The weed eater quit after fifteen seconds.  I brought it back and hooked it up to the charger.  Carol's sister, Nyleen wanted copy of some sheet music.  I made copies on my printer and put them in a large envelop.  We watched the news and more programs until we went to bed.

The Day After

It was late when I got up this morning.  Richard was up.  I showered and then started another batch of old fashion oatmeal mush.  I fed the cats and turned on the TV for the morning news.  Later I shaved and said my morning prayers.  I fixed breakfast.  Robert Carol washed the sheets.  We put her sheets on her bed. I turned on channel 44 to watch the morning shows.  I was interrupted several times to make my bed.  I went to the post office, and it was closed because it is a holiday today.  Robert called and said that he and Jeanne would be here at about 2:30. We had a nice visit when they got here.  Later, he and Richard and I had a look at the greenhouses.  Robert had some ideas about growing hot pepper and pepper plants.  Some of his friends made some good money with hot peppers.  Another idea was to grow peaches in house six and sale peaches.  The greenhouses five and six need a lot of clean-up work. There are a lot of materials that belong to Shane England that needs to be removed.  I want to speak to lawyer on how to go about disposing them.  I had opportunity to take a lot of pictures of the greenhouse interior. Richard and Robert went home.

Christmas Day

I really slept well last night.  I was up fairly early and came into the family room.  The door to Richard's bedroom was still closed.  I went into my bathroom and showered, dressed, put on some new socks, said my prayers and then shaved.  Richard was up when I came back to the family room.  I started my old fashion oatmeal mush and then fed the cats.  I turned on the radio for some Christmas music.  We had breakfast and opened the presents.

We opened presents for about one-half hour.  There were a lot of nice presents.  We put all of the wrapers and boxes in a large black garbage bag.  Later Richard to the bag to the dump.
I got this picture of our Christmas cactus.  There are quite a few buds.  My mother had this cactus and we have had it for a long time.  After a while we got ready for church.  We put a casserole that we bought from the Fillmore Market.  I put it on time bake.  Church started at ten.  We had quite a wait before it was time to go.  There were quite a few cars in the parking lot when we got there.  People in the choir had assigned benches to sit on.  Richard and Carol sit behind me.  After the sacrament was past to the congregation, The choir members to their places in the choir seats.  The choir program went really well.  After the meeting we went home.  Our dinner was cooked, and we set down to the casserole and funeral potatoes.  We also had corn fritters and frozen peas from out garden.  We received calls from friends and family members.  We had several people knock on our door with treats.  There was a young man that gave us a small bag of popcorn and a pretzel.  Carol at the popcorn and I ate the pretzel.  We watched TV until we went to bed.

Christmas Eve

I was a little late in getting up this morning.  When I got up, Richard was up.  I went back to my bathroom where I showered, dressed, and said my prayers.  I fed the cats and prepared breakfast.  Carol got up and started the washing machine.  While she was showering and doing her hair, I got breakfast for Richard and me.  I then fixed her breakfast. I washed the two woodworking shows.  Richard then went to Fillmore.

When he came back, He brought a large container of raw honey.  It was quite soft.  Carol fried hotdogs for lunch.  I put mine in a hotdog bun with relish, mayo, mustard, and catchup.  We started to watch a protestant church choir.  It was hard to understand.  Carol changed to channel 44 where we watched about three western movies.  We watched the Tabernacle choir.  This evening Carol made corn fritter and then cooked a frozen dinner that we got at the Fillmore Market.  Both were really good.  With Richard here we filled the dishwasher so full that there wasn't any room for anything else.  The rest of the evening was watching TV.

I was up fairly early this morning.  I showered, shaved, and said my prayers.  I was out of mush, so I started a new batch of old fashion oatmeal mush.  I fed the cats and then turned on the morning news.  Carol got up and started washing the clothes.  After breakfast I watched two TV shows.  We then went to the post office and got the mail. We drove directly to the Maverick station and filled up with gas.  Our next stop was at the Fillmore Market.  We bought some groceries and then went home.  As soon as we got home there was a knock on the door.  It was Richard.  We didn't expect him until sometime tomorrow, Saturday.  Carol made some cheese and baloney sandwiches with lettuce and Mayo.  I had to put in my teeth to eat it, it was a good sandwich.  We watched some more TV.  There was a knock on the door.  Carol answered the door.  The Whatcott's, who are our minsters, stopped in for a visit.  We had a good visit.  There was a package at the door which was something from Lisa.  The rest of the evening was watching TV, No pictures today.

Choir Practice

Nothing special today.

I went to choir practice this evening.  I lasted for nearly two hours.  Karen Bennett has put a lot of work in it.  There are three or four groups singing.  There is a primary group, Two different young men and young women groups.  A violin young woman.  Several piano renditions.  And then the ward choir. I watched my three TV programs.  Ray, my brother, called. He is coming for a visit.  They brought us a present.  We had a nice visit with them.
When they left, I got this blurry selfie. Ray is on the left, then me, then Carol with Mary Anne on the right.
Carol offered them an ice cream cone.  Ray declined, but Mary said that she would like one.  I got the picture of her holding then cone.  I only got part of her head.  It has been quite cold today.  I fed the chickens and got one egg.

Lisa called.  We watched TV the rest of the evening.

New Teeth

My dental appointment this morning was at eight.   It was nearly nearly six when I got up showered, said my prayers and shaved.  Carol was up a little later. Each morning is basically the same.  After breakfast I drove to the dental office.  I walked into the waiting room and was taken to the exam room. It was twenty minutes after eight when the dentist walked in.  He worked on my bottom jaw to make sure that the posts would fit the new set of bottom teeth.  One of the posts was not set in properly, I thought that I would walk out with new teeth.  I may have to wait two more months.

The above photo is the view that I had out the window.  I came home and watched the three TV shows. I went to the post just before the last show.  I ate the rest of soup for lunch.  Later we each had had a bowl of Ice cream. We watched TV until it was time to go to bed.

Finally Car Fixed

I had a good rest last night.  I was up only a few times during the night.  Carol had an appointment with her dentist at seven this morning.  She got up at 6:30 and was soon ready to go. I fed the cats and turned on the TV to watch then morning news.   I took my medicine and warmed up the milk and my old fashion oatmeal mush. I then scrambled two eggs.  I watched three TV shows. Carol was gone over two hours.  When she got home, she scrambled an egg for her breakfast.  I had a couple of bowless of soup left over from a couple of days ago.   This afternoon I drove to Steve's Tires to have to car fixed.

I took them less than an hour to fix it.  The above photo shows the order desk.  I then went to The Fillmore Market for a few groceries.
The above photo shows a building which I thought was being built by Andy Bray.  I now think it is not.

I drove home.  I walked out to the greenhouses.  Everything was good.  Inside house five was seventy-five degrees.  Carol and I went for a drive around town.

Sacrament & Sunday School

17 December 2022 Saturday

I was up late this morning.  I showered, shaved, and said my prayers.  After breakfast and some morning chores, we drove to delta to deliver gifts to my sister, Annalee and her husband, Gary.

I took this picture through the front windshield of the steam coming from the power plant west of Delta.  We then put a gift by her front door.  We then went into delta and stopped at the grocery store.  We had a small list but ended up buying more.  The main thing that we wanted to get was butter.  They had a lot of it.  We bought a few other things. I could have taken more pictures in the store and on the way home, but I forgot.  On the way home we drove through McCormick.

18 December 2022 Sunday

I didn't sleep well this morning. I was up many times to go to the bathroom. It was about 6:30 when I did get up.  I showered dressed and shaved. I fed the cats and began to get ready for breakfast.  After breakfast Carol made her famous meat loaf.  She put foil on a few potatoes and one sweet potato. All of this was put in the over for time bake.

I put on my suit bout I was nearly late for choir practice.   After practice I came home and got Carol.  The Sacrament meeting and Sunday school were good.  We came home and had a good Sunday dinner.  We watched the Sunday programing on channel eleven.  I took a gift to Kathy Farmer and left it in front of her door.  By then it was time to feed the cats.  We are watching more channel eleven programing.

Steve's Tires

I was up fairly early this morning, I showered, read from the Book of Mormon, but didn't post any comments about the chapter.

I shoveled an inch of the snow off the driveway.  One of our cats was right in front of me.  Later you will see what happened to him.
The driveway was warm enough to melt off most of the snow that was left.
I haven't been out to the greenhouse for several days.  The temperature in house five was about 48 degrees.  A little water was running in all of them.
I removed the snow to make a path.  The above photo was taken in the isle east of houses 4, 5, and six.  I was facing north when I took it.
There was a cat in the driveway when I was shoveling the snow; At that time, I heard a noise by the red bud tree.  I looked up and the cat climbed the red bud and was on the roof.  I took the picture looking north.  We had problems with the car on the way home from Orem on Tuesday. I took the car to Fillmore this afternoon to see if they could fix it, they added some oil.  The problem icons were gone.  I to the ag building.  I reported to them that there was no one renting or leasing our green houses and yard.   I then went to the Fillmore market and bought a few groceries.  We needed butter and they didn't have any.  I picked up the mail and when I got home, I made a path to the chickens.  I then made a path to the greenhouses.  Carol put the home-made brownies on a paper plate.  We delivered them around town to our friends.

We watched TV for the rest of the evening.

Still More

I was up this morning in a more regular time. I showered, dressed, had my prayers, shaved.  I fed the cats and started cooking my old fashion oatmeal mush.  I cooked the rest of breakfast.  There was about one inch of new snow this morning

I took the picture of our driveway and then pushed off the snow.  The canned food that we bought in Fillmore yesterday was already in the car. There were several other bags that contained other presents that we wanted to deliver in Orem.  On the way to Orem, we stopped at the post office and mailed a bunch of Christmas card to our friends.  We were to meet Lisa at Robert house in Orem.  Lisa was already there when we arrived at Roberts house.  We put the presents in Lisa's car and drove to Holden's house with some presents.  Megan and her kids were there.  Holden was downstairs working in his office.  He came up and we had a good visit.  I took most of the following pictures before he came up.  He showed us around his house and then took us downstairs. The basement was mostly unfinished. But there was a playroom for the kids. He showed us his office which contained a computer and several monitors.

The photos are pretty fuzzy.  I am shaky and can't hold the smartphone still while I take picture.  It was snowing some in Orem.
We stopped at an Asian buffet.  There was a lot of good food there.  I left my dentures home so I had to select food that I could mash up with a fork.  It wasn't a problem find it.  I had one of the servers take a picture.  One the way home we stopped at Sam's Club for some cat food. We got a few other items.
We got gas at Costco.  We didn't have to wait long to get to a pump.  We then drove straight home. The roads were free of any snow, but some were wet.  After Nephi there were a few openings in the clouds that let the sun shine through.  When we got home, changed into my overalls.  I unloaded the car.
There was a lot of house garbage in the garage.  I loaded into the trunk and took it to the dump.
While we were gone, someone drove through the driveway. I took a picture of their tracks.  I think that someone was going leave a puzzle then changed their mind.

More Snow

I didn't sleep in this morning; in fact, I was up an hour earlier than usual.  I showed, shaved and said my prayers.  I always turn on the TV news, but all I got was state news.  I checked out the channels four and five.  I fed the cats.  I had plenty of time to read the next chapter in the Book of Mormon.  I watched the internet news.    Carol was up at her regular time showered and done her hair.

There was about an inch of new snow.

December, First Snow

I was late again getting up. I was too late to watch any of the TV news, but the dish was covered with snow.  I fed the cats and started breakfast.  Carol got up and started washing the clothes.  While she was having a shower, I walked out and with my long-handled broom, I uncovered the dish.   Back in the house I turned on the TV, but no signal.  I was not successful in my efforts.  Finally, I found some Christmas programing on YouTube.

I put on a warm coat and went outside to clean the snow of the driveway.  This is how it looked.

I started to push off the heavy snow, when Richard Darnel, a good neighbor, came by with his four-wheeler and snowplow and began to go to work.  He pushed the snow across the road.  He went back and fourht until our driveway was clear.
