Yesterday, we got a large bucket of grapes when we were at the Batty's home. We steamed them for the juice.
This photo is here to show the birthday party for one of our friends that used to live in Holden. The party was this afternoon. Carol took a bowel of Topaz melon to the party. She had an enjoyable time. While she was gone, I drove to the drug store to get her prescription,This photo is of the grapes that we put in the steamer.
The grapes were steamed of one hour. The bottles of grapes were in a water bath for thirty minutes. We got six quarts and one pint of grape juice. Carol put a date label on each lid.
Because it was boiling hot, it was a little difficult to lift the bottles out of the water bath. I made these hooks out of heavy-duty wire. I made them after we had finished so I haven't used them. They hook onto the rack and the rack is hooked to the edge of the large pot.
I picked these yellow crook necked summer squash. Some are two old.
This is a different melon. It wasn't ripe.

I fed the spoiled grapes to the chickens. The Chickens really love the grapes.
